[nospaces] [attr="class","omgen"] [attr="class","omgentop"]SILPH CUP 2024 AT PACIFIDLOG [attr="class","omgenmid"] FORTREE CITY MEMBER-LED EVENT STARTS MARCH 16 ENDS LATE MAY [player]https://fi.zophar.net/soundfiles/nintendo-gamecube-gcn/f-zero-gx/230%20-%20Cover%20Of%20Big%20Blue%27s%20Theme%20%28Item%20Song%202%29.mp3[/player] Big Blue - F-ZERO GX OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK [break] PACIFIDLOG TOWN[break] Contorting Currents[break] Difficulty: ★★★★★☆[break] COURSE RECORD: 04'15"952[break][break] CONTACT! A SHIFT IN THE WIND foretold the racers' plight; with it and the current directly in their faces, even making forward progress was far from trivial for most Pokémon. For those in the back of the field, it may have been good fortune in disguise; larger Pokémon up front blocked much of the current from pushing smaller ones around, allowing racers such as Genevieve Cromwell and Elise Calcifet to close the gap significantly. The former and her VAPOREON broke the surface with a powerful tail whip, garnering a crowd roar and impressive remarks from the booth as they bounded across the surface much like a Suicune would. Were she to glance backward, Elise Calcifet and her DRAGONAIR would be tailing them in a potent burst of EXTREME SPEED, closing the distance between them and Navy 's DRAGON DANCING KINGDRA quickly![break][break]
kyle lopez 's WAILORD flicked her tail as rapidly as she could to keep up with the speeding Pokémon, locked in a duel with Leilani Kalawai'a not a moment after the Alolan had recovered her balance atop her BLASTOISE's shell. Holding off on giving the order of expelling a high-pressure stream of water from his cannons, she did her best to stay within the giant's wake, keeping up with the Top Champion but ultimately not being able to make a pass by the time the next set of twists loomed ahead.[break][break]
THE BATTLE OF THE SEA BULLIES reached a fever pitch, neither Tempest Quinn nor Josh Devlin giving an inch. Theit unrelenting game of chicken ended in disaster, their side fins making sharp contact with one another. The Rocket Beast's larger SHARPEDO may have lacked the speed the Gym Leader's did, but they had size to their advantage. Whether with intent or by happenstance, their extra weight pushed the smaller shark out of control, Thomas Benoit 's BASCULEGION extending his tail downward in an effort to slam on the brakes as hard as they could. Their previous AQUA JET certainly didn't make that easy; they managed to barely swim out of the way as Josh Devlin 's SHARPEDO collided with Raju Mystic 's GOLISOPOD as the SYGNA SUITED duo of Eris Halla and CIAN MAHER zipped past them all, TRAILBLAZING and DOUBLE TEAMING their way around the accident. The child and weather master were within striking distance of robin coello 's stout CARRACOSTA, who seemed to have little trouble with the harsh current. The race was not over for the Mauville Gym employees, but they had a lot of work to do if they wanted to get back in contention.[break][break]
AT THE FRONT OF THE FIELD, lam logan 's FERALIGATR maintained the lead, the crocodile's crests glowing a red-purple. In a potent burst of AGILITY that wowed all who witnessed it, the Lilycove Leader's Pokémon barreled through like the current was at their back. He couldn't rest easy, not with Gwyar Wledig 's AEGISLASH madly slicing through the water with its AUTOTOMIZED body like a torpedo locked on target. Had his TERASTALLIZED FORM not petered out and vanished, he would have easily been able to make a move. It wore off at quite the inopportune time, the sudden loss of speed making contact with Jack Napier 's MANTINE unavoidable. Even with their collision slowing them down, Tempest Quinn was still handily behind them.[break][break]
LAP 2 | OBSTACLE 2
Prompt: The course's buoys direct racers beneath the surface, into a straight, circular tunnel that starts out wide but gets narrower the longer it goes. At its end, it takes a sudden, upward turn that launches racers out of the waves completely, between two short rows of palm trees. Nailing the landing from the relatively high leap wasn't the only challenge, either; while the landing zone was wide, they would have to quickly get into position for a sharp left curve back toward the Corsola reef!
