I had the opportunity to make a decision for myself. I went the way I thought I had to, and now I'm kinda stuck with it. Some days I wonder where the other direction would have taken me, but even if it might have been better for me, I know it would ultimately have made it worse for everyone else.

No, because the only one I had was allowed to die because...next question.

Quickly. Teleporting, in fact. Did you know that passenger vehicles have the highest fatality rate among modes of transportation? Never mind the time you lose in having to actually travel from place to place. It's an intolerable loss of productivity.

Yes. We have no hard evidence that our universe will, in fact, destroy all other universes. All we have are the fanatical ravings of a group of zealots intent on destroying us. I will save this world and everyone in it, or die trying.

Humans are inherently selfish. That does not mean they cannot act in the best interest of others, but it is wiser to expect greed over altruism.

Someone did hurt me. She attacked the person I love most, and nearly killed her. She also ruined my academic career and public image.

Once, I'd have answered with a firm "no." But I have been to The Border. I have visited other dimensions. I have seen the dream mist conjure into being that which previously only resided in the human imagination. Anything is possible.
