LATE SEPTEMBER — as ultra wormholes are sighted in the seas of hoenn, the region begins to be tainted by poisons, the source of which is unknown. parts of hoenn's seas darken with toxic waste, like oil spills. for this reason, Lucas Lane has entrusted volunteers with a special antidote formula that he has helped create with thomas benoit's sludge sample.[break][break][break]

here, in the woods near fortree city, several pokemon have become incredibly hostile, for they have run into a pool of poison, left by some unknown source. attempt to clean up the poison, cure the pokemon with Lucas Lane's antidote, and defend against their attacks.[break][break][break]

Traveling across the region to deal with the menace of the poisoned, feral pokemon wasn't as exciting as Katherine would have preferred for it to be. Frankly, all it did was pull the gym leader's focus away from their own city, which still required to be fortified and prepared for the upcoming war.

It was still weird to think about their region and its state, but this is their new reality. War. Aliens. Violent pokemon and ultra wormholes.

Katherine's Gallade takes care of the transportation, TELEPORTING the woman following a report of another mega-evolved nightmare.

Upon arrival, she dispatches her Blissey and asks of the normal-type to REFRESH whenever necessary to handle the POISON. A LIGHT SCREEN coats the battlefield as well, ensuring that some of the attacks of the mega-evolved Venusaur are defended against.

The scene is taken note of as well, the burn marks and the way they've spread indicates that this wasn't some wildfire, and she's reminded of the scene she'd witnessed the other day. Lightning was involved in both of the situations, she presumes. Last time, there was an electric-type to blame the lightning for, but there's only the Venusaur this time.

There's more to it. There's more to these attacks and it feels like they're all still in the dark. The source of these attacks is as clear and bright as day, but the intention behind it remains a mystery. And if there's anything Katherine hates, then it is this feeling of uncertainty the region is plagued by these days.

the events that transpired in lilycove prompts selena to observe what is happening to other cities as well. this is not normal—despite the dangers of leaving her city to check for other similar cases, she opts to do so with the confidence that rangers can handle defending their home. with that, selena rides molech and immediately flies into the neighboring town.[break][break]

what attracts her into the clearing is the faint smoke from the charred woods in the fortree forest. a few feet away, there is a rampaging venasaur terrifying residents who seem to abandon their homes just to get away from the threat.[break][break]

the gym leader observes the trainers nearby bidding their chance against the ferocious frog. she orders the noctowl to fight as well, beaming the creature with hypnosis before hammering its petals with air slashes.[break][break]

not being well known around hoenn had its perks, while some people reveled in the infamy many had gained kaine liked the anonimity he has right now as it allows him to scope out the scene of where a supposed beast had been rampaging. in its wake was nothing but destruction and sickness to the level that requiring a gas mask was vital for his health as he made his way through the area. "lots of charred flora around, is it that acidic?" twirling the antidote in his fingers as he continued his trek to find the most concentrated space full of toxin to put the antidote in. might as well get this survey job done and over with, it wasn't like anyone was going to notice him skulking around after all.

the beartic rests to recover its health, preparing for another bout of attacks at the threat. repressing it was the main objective, though perhaps going in with a pokemon too reckless to care about its own health was not the smartest decision.

the ice-type recuperates, kyle watching intensely as the others take over the fight. it will only be a while before he can join the chaos again as he peers onto his wrist watch, impatiently waiting for his pokemon to wake up.

eyes light up when his pokemon stirs. this was round two, and his beartic is ready to have its retaliation.

"haw, mcgeez..."

mcflurry just barely got out of the way as her wigglytuff was blown back from a feral breloom's sky uppercut. the shiny pink fluffball of a pokemon found itself smashing into the bark of one of the tree highways, while mcflurry clenched her fists and tried to keep up with the situation in front of her.

around the corner, a bunch of people were dealing with the huge mega venusaur that had sauntered up and started to destroy parts of fortree city. which was, uh, nice and all, but — it did leave mcflurry to deal with the rest of the suddenly-incensed population roaming the city. luckily, she was incredibly well-equipped, in her own right.

as hail fell over the general area she was battling in, mcflurry thanked the stars that she had caught her most recent pokemon in the way she did. but then a tangrowth screeched and reared its ugly vines back, while an irate tropius charged an energy ball midair, and she snapped back to the task at hand.

"MAMOSWINE, ABOMASNOW! i need both of you to use mcBLIZZARD! WIGGLYTUFF, you — you gotta get up! use mcREST!"

the balloon pokemon got back onto its feet, growling in determination before suddenly and almost hilariously falling back asleep. as the regeneration kicked in and its wounds started to close up and heal, the burst of powerful cold air froze over at least half a dozen pokemon that mcflurry was facing down.

"mmmmc. i hope they mcthaw out... and i don't have to pay for mcproperty damages..."

Having never seen a Gigantamaxed Pokemon in his life, the old hand was near-speechless for a few moments as he gawked up at the giant hostile Venusaur. The region had been consumed with poison and while folks ran around with the antidote, Josh had been trying to do the same thing before the giant rampaging plant dinosaur stopped him in his tracks. Despite this, he remained calm and collected as he decided to go all out from the start. Bringing out Fawkes from its Pokeball, Josh took a deep breath as he pressed a hand to the Keystone on his gauntlet. The Charizardite X on Fawkes' brace began to glow...

"FAWKES, FLAMETHROWER!"

Waiting for the titan to get into ideal position so as not to risk the rest of the forest, the Mega Evolved Charizard unleashed a torrent of blue flames on the Venusaur. With its size, it would absorb much of the attack. If somehow it dodged though, Josh did have his Swampert on-hand for environmental duties.

Hoenn was falling into utter chaos. With the take of a possible war coming, the burn scarred male already started to show his worth to the league And lucky for Maverick, he was use to this kind of thing. As soon as he got the call for him to assist in dealing with a raging venasuar fortress city, the trainer was quick to travel from one side of hoenn to the other. They had a few request for dealing with this pokemon and luckily, the league member had one the fit the requirements.

Upon arriving, his eyes widen as the poison and grass type as it tried to destroy everything in its path. Warm colored orbs flickered to see others already have come to aid in taking down this beast. Reaching into his pocket, the man tossed the ball into the air as the blue scaly serpent materialized before him. “We need to help take that creature down,” the man explained to the Dragonair as they rushed forward. The creature roared with anger, not giving a ratatta’s ass about anything other than being destructive. “Tharisirion. Dragon dance then outrage.”

The Dragonair wasted no time. The dragon lifted his tail into the air and little wing like ears fluttered. Long snake like body began to glow in a light blue aura, feeling his attack and speed boost as the calls of the dragons swirled through his veins. And once he felt like the dance of the dragons worked, the creature was ready. He cried out, summoning his inter rage as sudden his eyes began to glow. He then darted in for a hit. His first attack hit without fail. But the creature was quick to reacted too, sending a poisonous spores at him. But thanks to his SHED SKIN ability, the toxic substance was quickly cured and his OUTRAGE continued for several more attacks until he creature began confused. For there, Maverick would stand back for a moment. Let the confusion were off until he could continue to attack again, using TWISTER and SLAM whenever they had an opening.

She's never seen poison like this, Kaida knows much about poison-types, and she never saw poison pool like this...enrage like this. Everything in this world lived in a different way, but never quite destroyed like this, even poison-types didn't drench the environment like this unless they had found a heavily favorable environment. A forest wasn't that environment. [break][break]

Kaida felt her heart drop as Indunn let out a sad cry, blackened and dead trees refusing to improve even under the powerful Floral Healing.. On her neck, Ormr hissed in alarm, forcing the group to sprint away. Even with the gas mask, Kaida felt choked, and the running was not helping. She couldn't imagine how the gentle Comfey felt, even with Aromatherapy, it was still a fairy. She didn't even like to use the Comfey too often, it was too gentle. Indunn was much more suited to healing and helping at home, not the chaos of this. [break][break]

More poison in view. Safety, at least for now. Get to work. [break][break]

The antidote was helping, but she needed more help. "Indunn, stop it!" She barked as the Comfey attempted to return to the burnt vegetation. How she wished she was sent here to harm, and not heal. Healing required choice on what to do. Her decisions were swift, though, likely why she had been given this job. "We need to heal here, understand?" She pointed to the pools of poison, the dying plants, "Help what can be helped. Ormr, keep watch." Her orders were soft, yet clipped. She was furious, and glad the gas mask concealed her twisted face. [break][break]

This work did not suit her. She wanted to hunt, to find and kill what was causing this. A job was a job, but she needed a target to run at.
