Urgh.

Okay, Izumi was not a quitter. Definitely not a fucking quitter.

Especially after bombing the danged Splash. She knew how Josh Dragomir had also wiped out, so there was that. At least they were even, pretty much.

Taking a deep breath, she urged the Mantine out into the surf and tried, tried, tried…

Again, and again, and AGAIN, until they landed it!

Now Asher was getting mad. Pouting under the water for a few seconds, he emerged and soon found himself already on top of the Mantine. The pokemon might have gotten worried about him when he didn't immediately resurface. These guys were really well trained. Well, back on a wave and getting some good air again we go. That was always the smoothest part. A back flip, right roll, and front flip later, he was launched up into the air again for a third try. Third times the charm, right? Wrong.

So how in the hell was he going to be able to get into the zone?

This Mantine has absolutely NO remorse at all. It’s the Mantine from HELL!

He wondered where Guillermo Marceliño was.

(Either he was laughing at him or wiping out somewhere out on the water, he had no idea.)

Shuddering as he hung onto the Mantine from Hell™, the dual-type then literally made their way to the deepest part of the water (good luck, Alexei) before attempting the Magikarp Splash yet again!

And, of course, poor Alex was screaming all the way down.

Rest in pepperoni pizzas.

the last one doesn't count since he was just warming up. you can't call exercises actual attempts since they're really just that.

this time, he's serious. he never fails on anything, and every "fail" he got was just him messing around or simply testing the waters. he still hasn't synergizes with his mantine, and only then will it actually count.

he doesn't actually go outside much, contrary to his build. he felt like he was going to be humiliated by the first try, but given that he was pushed into this and agreed, he can't fault anyone but himself for trying.

he gets on the mantine. it feels different from any other flying-type he had ridden on, and to think he has to balance himself on top of it without any traction already has him thinking he won't be able to do it.

still, there was no choice but to try the hardest trick, and that he does.
