All the heightened emotion in her evaporated as she glanced around at the carnage that had ensued, the wilting vines of ivy limp and forgotten against the blood-soaked ground. Heavy breathing racked her, adrenaline ebbing in favor of an exhaustion she didn't have the luxury to feel.[break][break]

Behind her, the names of Wo-chien's TABLETS OF RUIN faded from a searing gold to dull etchings set on dull bamboo.[break][break]

"Cowards," she muttered to herself, shaking her head. "They'll regret their mercy."[break][break]

Could it surprise her though, truly? So many people in Hoenn had let her live, despite being what she was. hadn't killed her, and look what had happened to him.[break][break]

Some lessons had to be learned painfully. Without Cyllora to distract her, Elisabeth's heart reeled at the implications of her own unwanted self-discovery.[break][break]

remained an enigma to her, but witnessing Palkia's creation of the rift that spared them all made an uneasy thought appear in her mind: We are only freed from here because Palkia cares about that woman's fate. How sobering that thought was.[break][break]

What was she, to the allure and grandeur of a god who granted all his heart's desires?[break][break]

What could she give him, that hadn't already shared? Save for her own power, which he now wielded all on his own.[break][break]

An urge to run up and take the admin's hand in hers came and went, dismissed for its inherent childishness. Inexplicably, she felt the start of tears threatening at the corner of her eyes.[break][break]

"Don't look for me," she offered quietly, and before the councilman could argue with her, she darted into the unknown world ahead of her. One where Tapu Fini, she knew, wouldn't grant her that mercy.[break][break]

The WELLSPRING MASK had revealed more of her heart than she wanted it to, in the end.

they disappeared one by one into the portal, and her anger and resentment reached a boiling point. [break][break]

as was left unguarded by neutralized pink blasts, she picked up a sharp piece of rubble off the ground, and charged in his direction. however, palkia’s pull reached her too, and she failed to dig her heels into that strange, black pavement.[break][break]

she screamed in rage, using the momentum as she tore past him to throw a wild kick in his direction. a second later, she too disappeared into the portal to their dimension, alongside her dog still snapping its teeth.[break][break]

He's not oblivious to 's attack, but the timely intervention of saves him from a response of his own, leaving his attention to fixate entirely on the FLOWER TRICK.

It doesn't have the unf he was expecting, but watching the life fade from Velmos's eyes sends shockwaves into Greyson. Joy, relief, sorrow, disgust—it was a maelstrom that churns and churns without end.

Greyson stands there for a moment, completely oblivious to the outside world, to every single person around him, as his body enters a state of SHOCK.

Then, without warning, he laughs. It bubbles up unbidden, uncontrolled, and unhinged. He laughs, and laughs, even as dashes through a portal with the Megalopolan's body; even as rears a hasty drawn back kick that lands against the side of his abdomen, turning that laugh into a high-pitched, oxygen deprived wheeze.

He laughs until he has nothing left. Then he vomits.

As the portal pulls him back to Hoenn he embraces the stillness of the way between worlds until he's eventually tossed haphazardly into 's field.

Here, amidst the dull buzzing of his bee hives, he finds a moment of peace to reflect on whether or not he might've doomed Hoenn even further.

“…sparing them would only bring even more trouble than there already is,” he would continue in the same exhausted tone; because holy shit he was physically and mentally exhausted beyond endurance at this point. The moment that this strange, pink-colored rift opened, he wished to be in one, and one place alone—

As they were taken back to Hoenn, the sight of the gigantic Celesteela arriving just as dusk had fallen on Fortree’s horizon would startle many; however the Ultra Beast would make her way towards the Sanctuary, where he was more than certain someone was waiting for him…

Lucia couldn't look up at Doug anymore, far too exhausted from the events of her stay at the penitentiary to even do anything but weep. She could have been picked up by a Megaopolan to be kidnapped and taken away further from Hoenn, but she could care less. Her body lacked the will to really keep going on at this point. The fingers gently cradled her form as the kid was lifted into the air, with the reassuring voice letting her know it was okay.

"Doug..." Lucia said weakly, putting her head on his shoulder. For not being a bed of any kind, it was surprisingly comfortable, like sleeping on a bed for change.

Her hands went around his form for support, but it was his touch that eased her worn spirits. She closed her eyes and quietly sulked, clinging onto her as the Dunsparce by her was looking up at her to ensure that she was doing okay.

Lucia continued for a bit before she had fully fallen asleep in Doug's grasp. Thoroughly drained of energy now that freedom was shown to her, all of the anxiety, the worries, the stress and the paranoia was gone, replaced by a void of energy. As she slumbered, her form rested in Doug's arms, enjoying a peaceful sleep for the first time in what was hopefully a long time to come.

She locks eyes with for just a moment, and her body falls like a marionette with its strings cut. [break][break]

Its song begins to swell, and it flickers a deep scarlet. It hurriedly approaches Tsubaki, the bell on its head inflating til it grows twice its size, and then it bursts. Black ichor pours onto the girl beneath, burning and cauterizing her wounds before she can bleed out.[break][break]

A pulse from Des, and her eyes flicker open. [break][break]

"Des... that you...?"[break][break]

She touches her stomach, feeling the place where she was cut apart by petals. Nothing remains now but scar tissue and blood. There is no wound. Even so, she can't seem to comprehend the color of blood on her hand. She reaches out, to take Desiree's hand.[break][break]

"Glad you're here..."[break][break]

She can't summon the words for anything else. No condemnation. No feeling sorry for herself. She's just happy to see a familiar face. [break][break]

Dozens of attacks play out in the span of seconds. An alien dies. Shuwen is pelted by attacks. In the end, and make a difference, along with a teenager he doesn’t know. When the dust settles and ’s god concocts a path home, he finally musters the will to stand.[break][break]
At the epicenter of the battle, Shuwen stumbles up, breathing like a wounded animal. Once again, something inside him is wrong. He coughs blood, taking the offered hand and standing up. It’s a sign of his respect that he accepts, feeling calloused hands that will one day try to pummel him into submission. Shuwen does not know how he is alive. As the pink expands towards him, he simply chalks it up to the grace of Arceus.[break][break]
Navy, on the other hand, runs on a bad leg. He runs to , looking up at in shock. He takes Tsubaki’s other hand, wanting her to know he’s here.[break][break]
“It’s gonna be okay.” His eyes ask Desiree a wordless question. How? Why? Questions for another time. For now, they too are consumed by the pink expanse.[break][break]
“Oscar!” He shouts to . “I’ll see you on the other side, man. Won’t forget what you did for me!” With those words, he’s gone. Navy is back in Hoenn, in Ever Grande’s hospital. Nurses point at him, seeing the state of their ragged E4 and rushing him into ICU.[break][break]
He’ll be back on his feet. For now, he closes his eyes and rests. He sleeps content, thankful that, in the end, some of them did not sink to the same hellish depths as their captors.

he thought he was special.

azelf had shown itself to him once, and like the ones that uxie and mesprit had visited, he had assumed the sprite would find one of the people that had been lucky before to be the one it aligns with.

high expectations lead to disappointment, as with the task of finding the ivory tree.

priam had melded to the backdrop as soon as he rescinded his position to attack or defend. a cluttered mind brought by stressful situations only pulls him closer to despair.

perhaps that's where he belongs.

he looks at his mark. he learns that expecting something from it will lead to yet another situation where he doesn't become a spark in the sky. it was a tool, and he was just a vessel for it.

he thinks of the previous invitation to the ranks of rocket's beasts. maybe it's best to stop his delusions of a life altering event that makes him special and face the reality where he will actually shine better.
