She explained the process step by step, though the duck's confused expression made it hard to feel any confidence. "This is going to be the stupidest way to die if you don't help me down there," Clover expressed stoically. Psyduck turned his head to the side. She really couldn't say if he was comprehending anything. Well. Only one way to find out. She dove in and hoped Psyduck followed.

Pelipper circled the boat. Keiko leaned over the edge as if she could see the Clamperl tucked into the reef. Sunlight danced against the waves and reflected back, obscuring anything just above the surface. "No time like the present." She made sure she had no important belongings on her person that would be destroyed in the water. Then, she offered a thumbs up to Pelipper above, who cawed in acknowledgement. She determined she was good to go and dived in.

Just as Thomas did the last year, he had his Clawitzer, Colt, do the diving for him, while he carried out his important duties. As he was trained, Colt dived into the waters below, seizing the first thing he could with his massive pincer, before emerging to the surface with his prize in tow.

The cool and refreshing azure water feels incredible against Airi's sun-kissed skin as she splashes around in the ocean with her playful and energetic Swampert. A couple of soft, sweet giggles escapes from her mouth as the massive aquatic creature splashes her a few times. "Hey, that's not fair! Your arms are lot bigger than mine!" she laughs a bit more before splashing him back. Bean soon laughs along with his trainer until his orange orbs take notice of something sparkling underwater.

Without too much of a warning, the Swampert gently lifts his trainer up and places her on his back before making an impressive dive underneath to retrieve the dazzling treasure.

Rhea eyed the diving grounds with a mixture of curiosity and trepidation; the water was so inviting and would surely help to stave off some of this accursed heat, but who knew what manner of creatures could be lurking down below? [break][break]

Taking a couple of steps back, she suddenly dashed forward, jumping into the waves and tucking her knees up to her chest as she cannon-balled into the briny waters. Clamperls weren't the most valuable pokemon. Still, with so many people diving for them at once, it was an easy cover for other activities. She wanted to check for any defenses among the shore. After all, this beach would be an obvious entry point for Rocket if they chose to invade. She imagined there was some sort of line of defense here. And, hey, if she found some treasures while diving, what was the harm? She looked forward to the expedition.

After a chaotic fail that ended up with PEtra belly flopping from at least a story high, she retreats from the surfing in favor of something else more her style. Allowing her Blastoise to accompany her, Petra dives underwater, sticking to coral shallows in order to avoid any powerful currents. Still sore and looking forward to a nice nap on the warm sand, they try their best to find something quickly.

It's a little crazy, how much trash there is in the oceans. Scout's heard it's particularly bad over the coast of Slateport, to the point where the city hosts an annual diving activity to separate Clamperl from items of human origins. Most of it is garbage, but maybe you could find some good stuff, too. Saltwater stings the corners of his eyes as he dives in without preamble.

For some reason, you really feel like you shouldn't be doing this. Like you being here at the beach causes some kind of friction. As though the mere act of being here in inherently dissonant...

Probably because everyone else is in swimsuits, and you're clad from head to toe in bandages and fully clothed besides. Oh well, as long as you don't swim in the water or go on the sand, you'll be fine. That means you've got a snug little area of two or three big rocks all to yourself! Provided, of course, nobody else shows up.

Arceus, you hope nobody else shows up.

"Alright, Quagsire, you know the drill. Go down to the seabed and get me some TMs, yeah?"

"MmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMM yesly!"

With that, the strange little creature waddled forth to Clamperl Dive...

Ow... Ow... Ow...

As it happened, Mantine Surfing? Was really rough on the back. Which was unfortunate for her, because Mitsuru's back was already rough at the best of times. Still, she managed to walk away from her horribly botched attempt at the surprisingly complex Magikarp Splash, so that was a plus! Kind of. Maybe. Y'know. Kind of.

So, she decided to take a break for now. She could come back to that once her lumbar didn't feel like it might snap at any moment. So, while waiting for that impossibility to come true, she decided to further indulge the beachy festivities and do a little Clamperl Diving!

Which wasn't really that great on the back, either. But apparently, the pearls that you could fish up were worth a pretty penny. How could she not at least give it a try?

"Okay. Okay! Here goes nothing..."

And thus, she dove for Clamperl.
