A shadow descended through the clouds, just out of sight but visible enough to be in awe of it's size. A roar, powerful enough to shake the landscape and scatter roaming Pokémon for miles.[break][break]

Death was coming, the destruction of time and space itself. Nothing would stand in the way of it's doom, no person nor Pokémon. This was the end, and the beginning. The alpha and the omega. Armageddon.[break][break]

Rowan let out a soft yawn as he observed the lone Absol below, dark energies swirling around them as they gazed upwards into a cloudless sky. "Suppose that's the one, Kazimir?" A gloved hand reached forward, pointing at the transfixed Pokémon. [break][break]

The Absol had stirred up enough of a scare for a Ranger to be dispatched, a bit surprising that a former member of the Elite Four had volunteered to come along. "Any ideas?"

The name was familiar, itching at Rowan's mind for a moment before the realization struck. "Right, I think I did his route in that phone game a while back." Summoned memories conjured images of the legend Raikou, and the virtual hunt for the Pokémon. A small wince stretched over Rowan's features, reminding him that he'd been abandoned by Suicune, something he'd not quite come to grips with yet emotionally.[break][break]

"Not important as it didn't really happen, I suppose. It was in an alternate version of Galar." Perhaps nonsense to the woman, but she'd pressed for the truth and Rowan was nothing if not obligate.[break][break]

An eyebrow rose at the proposition, glancing towards his Decidueye for a moment before back at Shalin. "Can't say I have. There's a first time for everything, however."

"I'll admit the motives of Legends are foreign to me. All I know is that it would be naïve of me to think they didn't have their own agenda, plans they wish to see unfold." What were the desires of Remiel's dragon, did they know? Rowan assumed they'd formed some sort of dialog by this point.[break][break]

"I thought I knew what one wanted once, but it seems I fell short of understanding." Suicune had moved on, a fact that he needed to accept.

The only ones that Rowan knew of were those that had been acquired in the ocean trench, abandoned Manaphy eggs that had been collected by those present during the skirmish between Team Rocket and the League. Was emmett brookes among them? He thought he'd known all the faces there, but perhaps one had slipped his notice.[break][break]

"Same hat." Rowan said with a small smirk, the Phione on his own shoulder flitting and giggling with glee at the antics of their kin.[break][break] "Strange Pokémon, aren't they?" Truthfully, he'd never met anything like them.

The tightness in Rowan's chest unwound, the serpent of his shame uncoiling from around his heart. His hand loosened it's grip on the machete, letting the blade drop downwards, piercing the ground and standing upright. [break][break]

"Thank you." For the sentiment, and for burning his letter. She could never know how much it meant to Rowan to know that his family hadn't died with his decision, that there was still one sibling who still cared for him. He cleared his throat, fighting back an onset of tears.[break][break]

"I'm glad you're back, Lulu." However, a question lingered on his mind, one that couldn't go unasked. "What made you return?" Surely anywhere was better than here.

"A noble cause, not that I'd expect any less from Melody Miro." He smiled, half sincere, half teasing. Despite their last encounter, he still thought highly of the woman and her dedication to the greater good of the region.[break][break]

A wince crossed Rowan's features as she mentioned the incident, half-convinced that she was able to read his mind. "You don't need to apologize to me, Mel. I betrayed your trust, manipulated you." A soft sigh escaped his lips, crossing both arms over his chest defensively, hiding his shame behind them.[break][break]

Rowan had though he'd had enough of it the first time, especially after Katherine Fairburne had brought him so close to the brink once before. Why he brought himself back again, was beyond Rowan. Perhaps it was the sheltered upbringing he'd endured, driving him instinctually towards adventure, towards danger.[break][break]

"Anything would be better than last time." He remarked, his gaze drifting towards Aidan Hereford as he spoke. "I suggest we move faster than last time, as well." Spending too long in a place like this was bound to have detrimental effects upon one, both physically and mentally.[break][break]

"Good to see Remy let you off the leash, Elise." Rowan smirked, poking fun at his friend. "Shall we then, you two?"

[attr="class","rowwtw"]Rowan wasn't much of a puzzle solver, much to his own dismay. Although the clues had been assembled, he couldn't make heads or tails of what was going on in this manor. Realistically, he was far more puzzled about the Declan Walsh that appeared here, still unable to get their visage off his mind.[break][break]

There was one thing Rowan knew, however. Eris Halla was a smart cookie, and likely had the entire thing solved already. A few sly steps sidled him closer to the young historian, eyeing her notes over her shoulder. In turn, he'd match the answers she'd given.[break][break]

Their presence has always had a calming effect upon Rowan, able to make him forget that he'd nearly been drowned mere minutes ago. An idle motion slowly spun the ring on his finger, wishing their reunion had been somewhere more quiet, without the prying eyes of both their colleagues.[break][break]

A ringing in Rowan's ears stopped the conversation from moving further, the beating of his heart becoming rapid. "What is..." Rowan doubled over, a searing pain rippling through his back. Pushing its way outward from his flesh, a singular disfigured wing unfurls itself, shaped like that of a dove. [break][break]

Where a calm gaze once sat, frenzied eyes turned towards Tempest Quinn. The man had once been the focus of his desire for forgiveness, it was jarring how quickly the TOXIC CHAIN had warped those feelings. "Time to die, Tempest..." A hand moved to the knife on his waist, slipping it free and charging at the man with a determined bloodlust.[break][break]

Mistral let out a cry of distress, unsure what their trainer was thinking and what was happening. Opening their beak, the Empoleon exhaled a thick MIST in the area, hoping to disturb the sudden outbreak of fighting and obscure the afflicted from doing each other harm. [break][break]

He could still remember the shouting, the sounds of battle, and the cries of the fallen. It was all so vivid as he walked through the graves, almost as though he was still among the conflict.[break][break]

As he arrived at the site of the primal node, a warm breath exhaled vapor into the Autumn night air. This was the moment where his will had been broken, where he'd been tasked with potentially dooming all that he'd come to know and love just to ensure a victory for Team Rocket. What was the point of winning, if everyone lost? [break][break]

Amber eyes moved skyward, where he'd seen the spirits of the dead cross over from their plane into the living world once more, the apparition of noah faber's Machamp among them. It was the turning point for Rowan, the opportunity for redemption and change. As much as he cared for Cillian Quinn and Lulu Flint, he couldn't live with that hole in his soul much longer before it ate him alive.[break][break]

Yet, he couldn't help but ask himself as he looked up at the stars, whether or not he'd made the right decision.
