here, in the pond laden landscape of route 120, a swarm of toxicroak laze around. they dangle on logs, hide in the tall grass, and occasionally clash with seismitoad. toxicroak are dangerous— so nearby fortree city rangers have asked capable trainers to scare them deeper into the wilderness.[break][break]

With the rumor that toxicroak are swarming around route 120, Genesis was not going to pass it up. And as soon as she heard the new, she rushed over as quickly as she could to get there before everyone else. And when she arrived, she was indeed the first one there. However she frown, not seeing even one in sight. “Well…” she grunted, hands on her hips, “that’s disappointing.” She sighed, green eyes flickered from one side to the other. After debating with herself for a moment, the woman shrugged. “I guess I’ll just have to hunt for them.”

Reaching into her pocket, the woman summoned a beast. The salazzale tongue slithered out as she stood up on her two legs. “We are hunting for a toxicroak today,” she informed the poison and fire type, motioning with a nod in the direction she wanted to head, “let’s start over there and see what we find.” The toxic lizard remained silent but followed Genesis without argument. “Here froggie froggie!” The woman yelled playfully, bring a smirk to her face at the dumb call.

There had been a horrible accident...

But the time had passed, if only briefly in the long scheme of things...

Yet, this was neither here nor there, simply a darkness had swallowed a dim light and now there was only....A shadow.

This void came in the form of a towering figure clad in a pitch black suit that only gave off light when sunlight or moon rays hit it just right. Beyond this various equipment attached to the front of this suit of armor blinked and beeped with energy as well as lights, a constant low whirring almost always heard if someone were to pay attention. The figure's breathing was laboured, almost echoing due to their helmet's breathing apparatus, however it came out loud and clear.

This tall dark figure would wander through the darkness almost aimlessly, however they did have a goal. Sent on a mission by marie jules this lone figure moved with purpose...with chilling power.

Each step was a silent stomp of authority, the air almost seeming to groan with his mere presence.

Shifting forward without hesitation the figure would eventually come to raising a single hand, as if to reach out...

Then from the foliage in the tree line behind them would come another shadow, one bursting with speed as it came sliding to a halt beside the armoured figure.

Bring me one, do not fail me!

And with that the mass of "swirling" shadows would move again in another mighty swift leap. This jump would throw it much farther away, sliding to a halt once it hit the ground this time the shadowy blob would then stand to it's full height, almost as if it was all coming together, as if it weren't prior. Stepping into the moonlight beside the pond would be an abnormally large Shiny Zoroark, one using it's Illusionary powers to enhance it's "image", thus appearing much bigger.

In a swift onslaught the Zoroark dubbed Nhar'qual would intervine in a dispute between Seismitoad and a Toxicroak, proceeding to attack each until it found a perfect victory through speed and raw power.

It had been done.

And with that the dark figure would attempt to capture it's target before leaving as silently as they had arrived on the scene.

Kaida wasn't sure why, and she didn't want to generalize, but Toxicroak tended to act the same. Seeing them lounging around or claiming their territory violently, with pretty much no in-between, she wasn't surprised at all given Glima, the Toxicroak never failing to play a prank or fight. She wasn't sure why, but her ongoing theory was their ability to relax let them appear fairly harmless, until they wanted a fight, and then their carefully stored venom had a use. [break][break]

"Well? Go ahead and play, but be sure to tell them they have to leave, they'll listen." Kaida barely finished talking before Glima launched off, a resounding croak echoing across the water as she bounced across logs with frightning agility. She would be terrifying, if she wasn't so excited...and then she noticed an oddly colored brethren, and there was no stopping her, she needed to see it. [break][break]

Along the water clad route 120, sounds of croaks from various amphibian Pokemon chorused about the field. To some it would be a detriment, but Polite found it calm. Bar species whose sounds were hazardous to humans or his companions, hearing the natural environment was a sensation that calmed his nerves. Too often it was easy enough to become wrapped up in the hubbub of daily life, especailly as a trainer within the League. Managing a team of creatures with individualistic needs and wants was no simple task. Several opted to let the mystical Pokeball do the hardwork and bring out a few for chowtime. For the time being, Polite liked cycling who gets to stretch their tiny legs outside of the ball if the opportunity allowed it. The one currently up was basking in the afternoon sunlight, perched comfortably upon his smooth and polished head. Jintsuu's light snoring and soft breaths were tells to Polite that his Fomantis was getting enough sunlight to foster good health.

Much to his chagrin though, the pink instect had a tendency to pick random areas to nap. Never in the same place twice in a row. More importantly, Jintsuu also disliked being moved when snoozing. This was something that the Pokedex stated and was entirely Polite's fault for underestimating how territorial a sleeping Fomantis could be. She was highly stubborn and clinged harder if harassed. Polite often had to consult the Pokedex regarding further information on how to handle this, but gained nothing. Index information simply noted that if one could smell a sweet scent, that meant the Fomantis was generally happy and healthy. Such a scent also attracted the attention of stray smellers, of which the tall trainer noticed something creeping out of the swamp. Taking out a Pokeball, Polite took notice it was the ever intimidating Toxicroak. A perfect fit to fit his image better and someone with a bit of reach compared to his current companions.

Taking care to not move about too much, as Jintsuu began to nibble his head lightly, Polite chucked his ball and attempted to gain a new ally.

Rangers need help and Billi was there to help! Well honestly he more or less wandered into someone giving fliers about helping the rangers and he wanted a great fun experience that he could have to help. For some reason these people thought he was a very capable trainer, which was funny in the thought, but heck why not try it out!? Billi wasn’t gonna just sit around when he was asked to help out.

Truely, these pokemon were like a colony of pokemon. They croaked and it was kind of annoying, because it was broad daylight and no guitar, no bonfire, no marshmallows. Truly just the sound of pokemon making frustrating noises and obstructing streets and routes. Then here Billi was the giant standing there with his Prinplup and Rookidie beside him. “Okay boys we gotta get rid of them!” Billi stated as he wondered around them avoiding getting caught some how.

“Okay uuuhhhh, Chesto, lets steal their food and throw it somewhere else!” he stated sending in the rookiedee, who obeyed quickly, swiftly flying and plucking food from the frogs and throwing them over in the woods, causing a bit of an up roar. Filling it’s lungs, the prinplup, waited for the frogs to get closer, “PRIN PRIN” it cawwed at the frogs before launching it’s hydropump that was too powerful for it’s medium sized body. He slammed against a tree as he firehosed the frogs back into the woods. “Go back to your swamp!” Billi yelled making an obvious Shrek reference.

Now this was living; ah to be a wild pokemon, free of care and strife. Not just any wild pokemon though, Toxicroak had a comfy spot near the top of the food chain. Thus, they often had no need to worry about intruders intending to catch them. Fearing no human, the Toxicroak lounged and played with nary a care.

Yet something was amiss. One Toxicroak sitting by itself on a log felt something strange in the air. Yet he couldn't quite put his claw on it. Then he saw it, something was lurking in the bushes. It was--staring at him. The Toxicroak pretended not to notice, while ponder how it would handle the intruder. Perhaps a quick slit to the face would show them what for. Of course, while the toxicroak was busy watching the bushes, it would pay no attention to the tree above him.

Water fell upon the toxicroak, scaring it stiff.

As the horrified toxicroak shivered, a massive presence would drop down behind it. It did not get the chance to fully realize what it was facing before an Empoleon fin clawed it to the ground. Nearby toxicroak scattered, spooked by the mighty penguin's sudden appearance. The bushes from before began to laugh, Oscar rising from his hiding spot within them. With his job of scaring away the Toxicroak done, he decided to throw a ball at the one who was knocked off his comfy log. Just in case.

toxicroak were a familiar species to the superhero but he never really dealt with them in groups. how should he go about handling it? probably just scare them off like many other rangers said, how would he do that exactly? then he thought about himself and what made him scary...he could go with that. it was a bit...out there but...it was worth a shot.

so he went up to jump in front of the crowd of frogs, "behold evil pokemon! pokkenger is here! you better run or i'll deliever the might of justice to you with these fists of mine! so run or forever hold your breath! your going to need it!" as he stood there a hophip swayed in teh wind as he charged forward with a battle cry that surprised the toxicroacks.

When asked to scare off the invasive Toxicroak, Gavin agrees more out of curiosity than any real intention to intervene. Apparently, someone had spotted a frog whose skin was a lighter shade of blue and, considering himself a collector of such unusually coloured Pokemon at this point, he couldn't resist investigating.[break][break]

He finds himself on the pond-riddled route with his Lycanroc prowling at his side. The werewolf's haggard appearance and menacing glare was alone enough to scare off most wildlife, but a few of the more resilient Toxicroak required further persuasion.[break][break]

When one of them falls beneath the fiery paws of the canine, Gavin tosses a pokeball.[break][break]

When Adrian hit the scene atop his Corviknight, Reign, the swarming toxicroak and croagunk looked up with a very specific expression:

Reign would easily serve the purpose of scaring them off, making it easy pickings for Adrian who otherwise might get mired in the muck of the pond. As he pushed deeper into the water until it began to soak up along his shins, he finally came within a feasible throwing distance before pitching a ball at one of the more eye-catching specimens.

He'd ruined a perfectly good pair of pants in the process. This had better be worth the trouble...

Emma's reason for helping was more of a selfish one. Toxicroak toxin was potent shit, and she was more than happy to get her hands on it if luck fell in her favor.[break][break]

Of course, she was also here to drive them further away from town. They were dangerous and the League's incompetence could use a little bit of outside help. Emma comes prepared with her Salazzle. What better way to fight poison than with poison? Her Pokemon's CORROSION is effective in driving them out of the pond - though she may very well be adding to the damage they've already done to the pond.[break][break]

the only other frog she knew of was a dancing one.

... probably.

not that she exactly where she's seen it before. either way, there was a bunch of frogs walking around, not minding much of anything and going on their own, merry way. or.. they should be. instead, they were lazing around. apparently trainers were needed to scare them off and back into their dens.

the garchomp looming over her shoulder was more than rearing to go at the toxic frogs, letting out a roar of excitement. "cinnabar," she says, pointing to a few minding their own business "scare them away, quickly." and maybe rough a few up, so that she could catch. it was a rare opportunity, after all.

the garchomp leaps forth, slashing at startled frogs with his fins while daphne attempts to chuck a pokeball into the carnage.

Its been awhile since he's seen a Toxicroak, but having owned one in the past he was well aware of their ability and just how much trouble they could be. And it seems like there was a group now that wanted to cause a problem, so as a Ranger he was here to help take care of it. As they arrived Salem was quick to start up a MISTY TERRAIN which caught the attention of the poison fighters in order to prevent any poison that could possibly happen. "Aim and-" he finishes up with a whistle as he points as if shooting a gun. With that Salem sets up his sister as he uses PSYCHIC to set up a few coming at them in a line to allow her to blast out a PSYBEAM to knock them back into the forest. [break][break]

Razz had full intention to take advantage of that four times weakness to psychic pokemon to push them back, a pokeball getting tossed into the mix.

He'd thought the league had the right idea when they suggested a small and quick job to get him back in the game.

No waters deep enough to drown in, but enough to get his feet wet. As he approached a dense area a bit away from the other trainers he watched the poison-type amphibians begin to notice him and quickly enough he gathered how much he didn't want soggy socks.

He couldn't recall a time during his most active years when he'd seen any pokémon swarm any area in such density as the toxicroak had done here.

For a moment he was distracted by the nearest trainer (DAPHNE STONE) calling out to her pokémon with a name that always got his attention. He wanted to say something, the urge to socialize again finally crawling out the grave with him. Yet, he didn't; maybe he wasn't as ready as he thought.

His feet stayed planted and his arms crossed as he decided on his first strike. The backup at his side on alert for a challenge but unwilling to move without his direction; riolu were prime examples of pokémon with high self discipline.

Being fighting type frogs Crimsen couldn't help but think of his poliwrath from back in the day, and how merciless amphibian fighters could be.
