MASTERMIND [pc]

WARNING: DANGER
THE KILLER HAS STRUCK. The doors and flooring of the elevator splinter and warp, torn open by the combined force of your Pokemon's attacks. With the way now unobstructed, it's an easy matter for you and your partner to climb, float, or otherwise plunge screaming down the elevator shaft to the hotel lobby. You're not sure who notices first. Violet Fairbanks has not left the elevator. As you regroup on the first floor with the others, a whirring, creaking sound from above warns of the impossible: the defunct elevator is coming down. You're able to get out of the way just in time as the twisted, smoking lift arrives. It sits there for a moment quietly before its crumpled doors open with a passive ding. The smoking husk of Violet's body is inside, her Rattata's jaws still busy crunching through a nest of open wires on the other side of the control panel. The rodent lets go as you spot it, hesitates, then flees back down the shaft. For all sights and appearances, the young woman's death seems to have been an unfortunate accident. It's a miracle the rest of you weren't electrocuted as well. But you know better. This is the work of THE KILLER. Careful footsteps announce the arrival of the players from the stairs, who pick their way gingerly down the slippery steps to join you in the hotel lobby. As they emerge, many of them have to shield their eyes from the sudden light. Having spent much longer carefully feeling their way down through the darkness, they are blind to what comes next. A gunshot rings out. Cillian Quinn has the good grace to look surprised as he topples backwards as if in slow motion. A spot of red blossoms in the center of his shirt as he hits the greased flooring, slipping backwards into the waiting wings of his Corviknight. --But Corviknight caves in like a stuffed toy, its steely shape warping and distorting around the body of its trainer. "Thomas" finds no support in the SUBSTITUTE as it pops under his weight. The two of them fall into the darkness beyond-- assumedly, the same place that ALEXANDER SILPH was taken. The real Corviknight is already gone-- or perhaps it had never been real to begin with. As you mourn his passing, something clatters on the marble in front of you. It seems Thomas's glasses were knocked free from the impact. Strangely enough, there seems to be a small price tag now affixed to the nosebridge. You don't remember seeing that before. Perhaps they serve a new function now... VIOLET FAIRBANKS and GAVIN MERLINO have been KILLED.
"Two more Contestants have been eliminated!" The announcement echoes from from the end of the hall, issuing from a pair of brightly-illuminated vending machines. "Are you getting a little nervous yet? Perhaps a refreshing drink will help clear your mind."STAGE ONE SHOP WELCOME TO THE MASTERMIND SHOP!- The shop will appear after completing each stage.

After stocking up on snacks and soda at the vending machines, you're back to searching for an escape. Exploring the hotel lobby finds it abandoned, white covers pulled over sleek sofas and once-gleaming chandeliers now dull with dust and cobwebs. The front entrance to the hotel has been boarded up and seems impassable. However, the doors to the ATHLETIC CENTER seem unobstructed. As you pass down the hall, it becomes clear that electricity is active in this area. A roaring, crashing sound comes from the door marked SWIMMING POOL, whereas a noise like a submachine gun fires wild percussion from the TENNIS COURTS. A door waits for you at the far end of each challenge-- but can you make it there?

If the players fail to complete at least one of the group tasks by the end of the round, the KILL NUMBER pool will be HALVED starting next round as the killer closes in and gains more opportunity. For example, if the pool is 1-16, it will be reduced to 1-8. The Killer may or may not choose to contribute to the Group Tasks. INSTRUCTIONS For Stage Two, choose one of the two GROUP TASKS and use an applicable Pokemon move. Please roll with your post. Please remember that you are not allowed to use the same move twice in a row during this contest. Repeating the same move will result in 0 points. If you are using/buying an item, please state the item clearly in your OOC. Remember that the CONTEST TYPE of the move you use in the task will award you points. *See Bulbapedia for a full list! Please choose a KILL NUMBER between 1-16. Numbers can repeat. If the killer's secret number matches yours, you may be eliminated. If a player fails to post a Kill Number, they may automatically be targeted. The game will update either when all players have posted or in 5 days (8/21 - 8PM PST). TLDR- (Optional) Spend your points at the Shop
