Matilda's doe eyes widen when Martín del Mar acknowledges her. Her heart pounds in her chest as Luka's lips touch her skin; she hadn't felt a soft, sweet touch in so long. The kiss on her cheek is a warm, gentle gesture, but somehow also just a touch...electric.[break][break]

It was hard to say whether her calm state was due to the alcohol or a beautiful woman's kiss (which has been known to shift temperaments and tides), but Matilda wasn't nearly as red as before. A soft pink tinged her cheeks but nothing more as she passes Dom off to the nearest empty chair and locks eyes with Mars, walking over to him slowly, confidently. Upon reaching him she smiles coyly, pressing one finger to his chest as though pushing him back. "And what, pray tell, are you planning on...spreading it with?" She comments boldly as she takes a look at his tie, letting her fingers run gently down the high-quality fabric.

"Glad to hear spring cleaning worked out for you. I've been alright. I took a bit of a vacation away from Hoenn for a few months." He paused for another sip of punch before angling the cup at Alexei. "Been sipping on mulled wine off and on all day. Thought I'd switch to punch but, uh... Whoever spiked it really knew what they were doing."[break][break]

Just then, a Lopunny approached and offered up a very pink Pokeball. Cap took it with a muttered thank you (it still felt weird thanking the Pokemon) before watching it wander back to its trainer. He lifted his cup towards luka chêne in thanks before turning back to Alexei.[break][break]

At the mention of the punch, he internally cackled.

“Can you pick out what was mixed with the punch? Hell, this hot chocolate has something in it too.”

He swilled the mug he was holding, and frowned slightly. It was empty.

“I’ll let you in on a secret—I was the one who spiked the punch. Can’t stand seeing people sober around stuck-up, stuffy gatherings like this.”

As he saw a passing wait staff, he dropped off the empty mug and grabbed a serving of punch that was now going around.

“Just add the right amount of vodka to boring punch, and everyone goes crazy,” he added with a bit of a cackle. As for him and why he wasn’t looking as inebriated as everyone else around the place yet.

“Well, that’s a trade secret.”

There was a mischievous twinkle in his eye as he said that last statement, though. Everyone had their secrets; and this was one of his.

Intentional? Absolutely.

He liked the reindeer horns. They were quite festive, weren't they? And one could dare to even call them 'cute'. Though, based on Eris' comment, he supposed he might be overdoing it with the bright red nose.

Regardless, it inspired him to put luka chêne in a pair later on. That was sure to be quite the sight, he thought, red nose or not. Certainly a lot cuter than he.

Grateful for the hot chocolate, Remiel reaches out to grab it and take a sip before replying. "The fruit punch was bitter? And Luka was pouring what?"

Before he can question any further, however, Eris takes his hand, inspecting the prick marks from the tape teeth before pulling a crumpled band-aid out from her pocket. The royal eyes the Yamper pattern upon it with a raised brow, but doesn't resist as she bandages his finger.

"Gift wrapping... is a lot harder than it sounds." He nonchalantly answers, lifting his bandaged finger to eye-level when she's done so that he can inspect it.

Just then, EARL GREY swoops into the room, hurriedly greeting the two with a bow before realizing the gifts he needed were not yet packaged. With a huff, the floating teacup begins finishing what his master had started.

Regarding the scene with an amused look, as ghostly telekinesis manipulates the gift wrap into cutting itself, Remiel shifts his gaze back onto Eris Halla afterward. "Thank you, Eris..." He smiles.

The sound of her name on Martín del Mar's tongue sent small shivers down Matilda's spine. She's more than compliant as he kisses her, but she isn't quite drunk enough to tilt her head ever so slightly and meet his lips with hers.[break][break]

It isn't until the moment she realizes every part of her that's touching him feels like warm sparks starbursting under her skin that she is, however, out of her depth.[break][break]

The alcohol is the only thing that allows Mattie to keep a grasp on her mask, dulling her nerves just enough to allow her to maintain her confidence as she grabs his tie gently, not allowing him to pull away quite yet. Pressing her cheek to his she whispers in his ear, "How about you make me breakfast sometime and we can have a more in-depth conversation about tastes?" After pressing a soft kiss to his cheek, she releases him with a smug grin.

The courier made a break for it which, under normal circumstances, might have embarrassed Dom. Drunk-Dom, however, was completely unphased by Locke Jamison's sudden, very red departure. He shrugged and mumbled, "Guess they don't like kisses," before yelling after them, "No worries, friend! Maybe some other time!"[break][break]

He leaned happily, though, when luka chêne planted a gentle kiss on his cheek. Before he knew it, there were smooches all around him and he'd completely forgotten the rejection he'd so narrowly avoided. He slumped into the chair Matilda Greenlaw passed him to like a happy, drunk sack of potatoes, face flush and head spinning. This was a good party. Why didn't he do these more often?[break][break]

It was then that Dom realized just why he'd been foisted off into the care of a chair. He squinted through the spinning haze at Tilly running a finger down Martín del Mar's tie. His brows knitted.[break][break]

"Oh no, no, nononono," he muttered, pulling himself (just barely) from the confines of the accursed chair. He stumbled his way back towards Matilda, placing a hand solidly on her shoulder. "Keep it in your hic pants, Matilda." The goal was a whisper. The result was more of a normal-volume hiss. He flashed Mars a passing grin as if his aim of whispering was actually working. "You know we have a deal. Plus I'm... I might be a tad drunk. You gotta take me home. Later. When it's time to leave. Not right now, though." Another smile flashed at Mars. Had he already smiled once? He didn't think so. He was really good at this party thing.

A deep sigh left Locke has they rounded the corner into one of the mansion’s many hallways. A short glance back at the punch table told them they’d left at just the right time too. At least they all seemed to be having fun.

Even if their intention had just been to get away from the heated scene, they did still plan on following through with their search for Remiel Calcifet. Though as they started their trek through the Calcifet manor, they quickly found that easier said than done. Seriously, who even needed a house this big?!

Though now that he thought about it, he’d met just about everyone at the party now, and none of them seemed to be related to Calcifet as far as he could tell. Did the ambassador really live here completely on his own? Had none of his family come to see him for the holidays, at least?

…Somehow, the mansion felt even bigger than before.

He wondered how Locke’s search was coming along.

“Excuse me for a moment,” he said in the other blonde’s direction as he fished out his phone and scrolled through his contacts, before finally finding the number he wanted to contact and typing in a quick message:

‘Have you found any trace of Remiel yet?’ before sending it off to Locke. Any news was good news at this point, really.

Once his cup was empty, he then exchanged it for another full cup of the spiked punch and cackled softly.

“Oh my. Oh my goodness, look,” he gestured in a random direction. If the other would squint, was that… was that mistletoe hanging from somewhere?

“Not sure if that’s what I think it is, but…” he trailed off with another cackle as he took another sip.

“Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals,” he said to nobody in general as he definitely confirmed that it was, indeed, mistletoe.

Hoo boy things were about to get hella spicy around here!

Idle chatter is filled with fluid motions, practiced fingers tugging and twisting a strip of ribbon. The more she nips at the corners, the quicker the little project grows, a rose-like decoration blooming within her hands. When she's finished, she ties it off, gently placing it on the table.

"Earl's right though!" Hopping to her feet, Eris quickly dusts herself off and combs through Reiner's mane to sort out any ruffled strands. Then, she reaches to tug of Remiel's hand, pulling him along for the ride. "You really need to get going or you're gonna miss everything!"

Not too far along the halls, Eyja finally notices Locke Jamison's intentions and scampers up the stairs along with him, darting between his legs and over his toes as she leads the way down the halls. Her nose sticks to the ground ever so often, a bark resonating through the halls whenever he takes a wrong turn. Soon enough, she would lead him to Remiel Calcifet and her trainer, she just knows it!

Things were clearly afoot this very merry evening in the Calcifet Estate. Though, strangely enough, he finds himself more amused than anxious. He did say they could treat themselves as if they were home, after all.

"You'll have to teach me how to do that sometime," He suggests with a smile, gently patting the rose-shaped ribbon she created. That's when Eris suddenly jumps to her feet, tending to her Luxray for a bit before grabbing his hand and pulling him up off the ground.

"A-Ah! I suppose so, haha!" He laughs, strings of ribbon and pieces of gift wrap shedding away from his body as he stands up out of that messy chaos below.

Earl Grey waves them off with an ectoplasm hand ('I'll be right there soon myself!') as his master is practically dragged out of the study. When it is clear Eris has lost her way, however, evident in slight falters and pensive humming, Remiel takes the lead. Much like the character he portrays with his horns and bright red nose, he guides the way down those baroque, maze-like hallways with ease.

They pass Locke Jamison on the way there, and Remiel shows the mailboy a smile and a nod— but doesn't stop! Instead, he gestures for Eris to take the kid's hand, creating a Rudolph-lead chain of holiday goers as they hurry to meet the others on the ground floor below.

Cap craned his neck to look at the hot chocolate as it passed on a tray, sniffing. He was usually good with alcohols, but there were so many things that could be slipped into a punch or a hot chocolate that he'd only be guessing if he tried to answer. His eyebrows shot up when Alexei Ivanov admitted to spiking the punch. He gave the blonde a dubious look.[break][break]

"I wouldn't have pegged you for the type," he said with a laugh. "Maybe someday I'll convince you to let me in on that secret, though. Could be useful in my line of work." Alexei excused himself and Cap freed him with a wave. Not a moment later Ra tugged on Cap's pant leg, chirping and looking between him and one of the numerous beautiful Christmas trees as if to say when are we gonna get a real Christmas tree? Cap scoffed. "When they're free!" It was enough to feed and house his growing retinue, much less buy them silly things like decorations.[break][break]

That was all he needed to hear.

Warmth thrummed in his chest as BARNABY FINCH 's hot breath tickled his skin, luring him closer. Inch by inch, he obliged to the other's commands, leaning in close enough to set off a whirlwind of sparks between them. The scent of his cologne was dizzying, suffocating. Lips brushed together, tentatively, for what felt like an eternity.

Then, with a mind consumed by hunger, Felix closed the space between them.

While those two kooky lovebirds had their ways, Gallade had snuck behind the journalist and held up a green bundle of flowerless stems tied together by a red thread between them.
