The silver lining of it all is that, to be honest, by this point Lia doesn't care much if angelo vestri sees her eat sand when failing yet another attempt at a MAGIKARP SPLASH. this time, he's serious. he never fails on anything, and every "fail" he got was just him messing around or simply testing the waters. he still hasn't synergizes with his mantine, and only then will it actually count.

he doesn't actually go outside much, contrary to his build. he felt like he was going to be humiliated by the first try, but given that he was pushed into this and agreed, he can't fault anyone but himself for trying.

he gets on the mantine. it feels different from any other flying-type he had ridden on, and to think he has to balance himself on top of it without any traction already has him thinking he won't be able to do it.

still, there was no choice but to try the best trick, and that he does.

After a few days to herself to recollect her thoughts and get herself motivated again Hailee found herself back out here again ready to tackle the waves. "I know we haven't had the best of luck but if we stick to it, surely we'll be able to succeed in the end." She spoke to her little Mantine partner who squeaked happily. All of this hadn't phased him. He was just happy to have found a partner he enjoyed spending time with. This whole experience had been rather fun for him. "I'm glad you're my partner big guy." Hailee said as she patted his side. And that was true. Her competitiveness sometimes got the better of her but she was still here to have a good time after all. That was the true end goal. And she didn't want to lose sight of that again.
