It hadn't been the oddest thing he'd experience.[break][break]

It was concerning, obviously speaking— although in light of recent events, he found an odd sense of calmness (if that had even been the right word to use) as he bore witness to the sudden occurrences around him. Although he hadn't quite released his drink, his gaze shifted momentarily from the woman by him in favor of taking a further glimpse of his surroundings, absentmindedly straying a hand towards the belt hosting his own Pokemon.[break][break]

Before he could so much as process it at first, he found himself gazing upon a beast with a rather ghastly looking flame.[break][break]

After some thought, and after confirming that it, amidst that crowd, hadn't seemed to notice him, he simply shifted his hand towards a vacant capsule and tossed it towards its back before retrieving it and making his way back over.[break][break]

"...Seriously..." he sighed, eying the Pokeball as it laid dormant within his palm. "I don't remember Hoenn being so chaotic growing up..."

Given the chaos that was Hoenn it wasn't too surprising that a time distortion would come even here. Razz gives an exasperated sigh while Sabrian seems interested in the phenomenon enough. It wasn't like he took her out on the field very often to have seen them so she is somewhat curious.

Well was somewhat curious until an odd looking Typhlosion attacked and destroyed her ice scream. That was a no no and unlike her brother who was much more passive in most situations, Sabrina's coping mechanism was fighting. [break][break]

Just like that a SHADOW BALL is sent at the odd looking pokemon. While it tries to attack once more all it earns itself is a SUCKER PUNCH to the face. Seeing as she was his brother's pokemon Sabrina had no qalms with holding back and was about to strike with another Shadow Ball had Razz not used a pokeball to capture it. "I think you got it," Razz comments as the ball almost immediately pings while Sabrina huffs and points to her destroyed shaved ice. [break][break]

"I'll get you more, but help me with protecting the normal crowd first alright?" he compromises as once more the Ranger does his job.

They're drinking, and there's laugher all around them and suddenly, Summer Atreides is here! And though the alcohol is starting to make the back of her head feel fuzzy Luka smiles and waves her over, trying not to think too hard about the fact that half her company is ex lovers, ex flings, or ex feelings.[break][break]

It's not good when the distortion suddenly appears, but maybe it's good for her. It forces her to keep her mind sharp, from dwelling on petty drama. And it sobers her up— mortal danger works just as well as a splash of cold water, in a pinch.[break][break]

But there's still a lot going on— Danny is shouting and mint frost has crawled off somewhere out of sight. jayden cross grabs knox prescott and illeana reyes and Luka watches them go, because what else is she going to do? She won't stop him from running to safety and helping others along the way. It bothers her a little, but she chews on her lip and races forwards to grab a hold of DANNY HALL instead, fingers tight around his arm and pulling insistently.[break][break]

He'd almost been hurt! And worse, she'd almost lost him in the chaos. Her grip tightens, vicelike.[break][break]

"You're right," she says, thanking the stars that she can still walk in a straight line, "Let's get out of here, okay?"[break][break]

the weirdness of the distortion finally ends, and priam is left without the music from the last few songs in his head. the magic is gone, but at least he has a weird fish in front of him.

...which is really just a big qwilfish and nothing that exciting.

"oh, yeah, y-you look great," he tells his pokemon, voice quivering before he swallows.

the coping starts as priam convinces himself that his pokemon actually is one of the best.

"like a big ass fish! pog! can't wait until i throw you on the beach and get those mantine surfers panicking!"

if he can't get a consistent magikarp splash, so can't they! priam quickly recalls the overqwil and hurries it to the beach where a bunch of surfers wait their turns on the mantine.

the distortion was gone, like it wasn't even there. it's gone, so suddenly, how odd. [break][break]

and there will doubtlessly be more in the future. for now, she turns her heel back, making way to the beach once again, searching for a drink. and also o probably continue hr conversation with Leonidas Stone if she could find him; if she was going to drink and enjoy her time, she may as well have some conversation. [break][break]

anything was better than laying at the bar, alone and depressed, like some of the poor people with their drinks shit-faced drunk in the sand. when she sees him, there's a hint of her that lights up, so slightly. "ah, there you are." there's no smile, at first glance, but there's slight joy. [break][break]

"you didn't get run over by an ursaring" she hums, walking back along to the bar. "a pity."

he'd missed dahlia goode ’s opening speech, so he stopped to catch a recap on-screen. her face didn’t bring a smile or a frown. ‘evil’ or not, she had made some decision to ensure the life he’d brought into this world didn’t die.

he did think it was fucked up to use force on sea!hoenn if they had not threatened a direct attack on their own hoenn. what did hostile really mean, and what about the innocent? not to mention, the aggressive plans were dangerous in the interim as they were boldly (though rightfully) aired to the public so far ahead of time. karma was a bitch, and they were sitting way out in the open waiting for her to bite.

it seemed wrong to celebrate during all of this, but he tried his best to embrace the spirit anyways. the commissioner was giving him permission, and he had a whole family to keep smiling for.

as she fled the spacetime distortion, the music still rang in her ears. in particular, a certain verse had gotten stuck in her head, even though she hadn’t been able to make out all of the words. they sounded rebellious. something about save it for the sheep. maybe she’d look them up later.

after having dinner with Callan Young recently, it had been fun seeing him up on stage. though she hadn’t cheered any names or caught the entire performance, she was there for what she could be. a small hope that she might see him again was quickly dashed by the rift in their dimension that caused her to run in the other direction.

after handing her daughter off to a friend, sage had run in the direction of the spacetime distortion. they hadn’t been anywhere near the loud, screeching guitars and wild crowd, but now, she was obligated to be there.

mounted atop her zarude, they knocked aside several angry distortion pokémon as they sped through. jungle healing glowed green across the ground to anyone nearby who might needed it. soon enough, once the distortion had faded, she slid off her monkey, boots thudding on trampled ground.

she watched up at the playback of dahlia goode ’s speech. it seemed so dystopian replaying over the scene of the predictably disrupted concert. this region seemed hopeless. she had felt this before kanto had been taken over. whether before or after the meteor—if they made it—she could feel a war approaching. she was ready.

the spacetime distortion faded soon enough. her noctowl screeched above, finding itself without a threat to target. a streak of red light recalled it back into its ball.
