He’d not gone back to the Follies’ secret base as of late; instead choosing to fly around the region on the back of his Noivern, Ava.

Damn it… why did that have to happen? Now he felt like absolute shit—

He then looked down from his view atop the Noivern and saw a bunch of… huh.

Moray eels? Or something?

Either way, he took a clumsy aim with his left hand, and chucked a Pokéball at random into the writing mass of electricity—he could feel the hairs on the back of his neck standing up on end.

Yeesh, why did it look like a mass of biting mouths anyway?

el’s own fangs sparked, chomping down on the eelektross that had her trainer captive. the wild eel was immediately ready to battle, which had jericho backing up out of the pit and making sure she didn’t step on any tynamos while she was at it.

Hitching his Ranger Cadet armband further up his bicep, Jack patrols the beach. Curious passerby crowded around and Jack divided his time on keeping them back from the masses of writhing Eelektross that had washed onto the beach and supervising Poe as he swooped in to grab the eel pokemon and airlift them back out to sea.

The clacking of Poe's metallic claws cuts through the gnashing of teeth and mouths and the excited murmurs of the bystanders.

"Give way, the beach isn't safe. People have been severely injured by the pokemon. Please stay back," Jack politely instructs the crowd with a hint of iron and annoyance in his voice.

"Oh look, it seems your kin has decided to grace us with their presence!" Elinor pointed out, as she and her companion Eelektross watched the swarm of Eel-like Pokémon dashing madly for the shore of Mossdeep Beach.

"Well, I will let you deal with them. Remember, we are here to make sure they don't become a problem, so subduing them is fine." Elinor gestured for the Eelektross to go ahead. And so it did. Greeting all within reach with powerful bites, as its teeth dug into the flesh of its unfortunate victims.

Elinor would let a single Pokéball fly, hopefully capturing a trophy for the effort.

Ruby was spending some much-needed quality time in her Mossdeep apartment when the news stated that beds of Eelektross were coming to the city's shores more often. "Oh, dear," Jade said. "We should be careful going outside, then."

[break][break]"Yeah, no kidding," Ruby replied. "Those suckers will bite down on you and turn you into a nice, crispy lunch. Don't walk around with any barbecue sauce on you."

She was killing two Pidgey with one stone here, and she wasn't even supposed to be the smart one!

But they were also valuable captures, and may even fetch a fair price on the black market. These swarms also had the best odds of producing a shiny variant of a species, another price-bloating factor that Adrian wouldn't overlook.[break][break]

Wading through the shallows makes him uneasy as feet filled with trepidation scour the water bed; even the slightest protrusion, outcropping or lump is imagined to be the gnarled tooth of some underwater ambush predator, whether it was Eelektross, Huntail or something else entirely. He doesn't want to be out here longer than necessary.[break][break]

When he finally spots the swarm, it's game on.[break][break]

There was something majestic about the Eelektross, the long Pokemon with four gnashing biters upon its mouth. But realistically, that was only for one.

When there were as many...

"Forteen, fifteen, sixteen..."

as Elaine was witnessing, the charm tended to go beyond the level of diminishing returns to loss.

Once they'd heard reports of the swarm, Martín del Mar had expressed interest in heading to Mossdeep to check it out. Barnaby had no objections besides feeling rather tired and a little sore. He wasn't quite up to wrangling a horde of wriggling EELEKTROSS, but figured that was no reason to stop Mars from doing so.

"Good luck, mon trésor." Well wishes sent off with a kiss to the CEO's cheek.

Just to feel like he was contributing something, Barnaby also instructed his NIDOQUEEN to help Mars collect one of the eels, but otherwise remained reclined on a lounge chair near the stern of the boat. As he relaxed, the sea breeze pulled at his linen shirt, exposing the skin of his neck every so often. Partially hidden behind the collar the shirt was a distinct, reddened bite mark.

A hint at why he wasn't feeling quite up to Pokémon battling?

With most of the others gone by now the Head Ranger patrolled the beach turning any stragglers from the Eel swarm back to the sea.

Try as he might to avoid getting bitten by one of these squiggly shockers, a handful of them still made a lunge for him if their mouths got close enough.
