With the breviary focused on its target, it allowed the Beast to survey the battle field from above. She locked its terrain to memory, the placement of all the pieces of their game. Josh Devlin sported a new mount, one Amor Rose was eager to reign in with the cleverly placed Stone Edge. From the corner of her eye she could catch Killian Decker mounting a Braviary in a similar fashion to her own, charging towards kyle lopez.

Please be careful, she thought to herself, knowing well that Deoxys would keep his symbiont safe. Killian was more than capable of taking care of himself.

Lex dismounts the Braviary before it crashes into its target. She rolls across the ground before coming to a stop in a low crouch. Amber eyes locked onto the skirmish between Katherine Fairburne and Lulu Flint. Lex hesitated for a moment to intervene, but in reality she couldn’t.

“What the-“ Her Braviary was standing on the round, wobbling as if drunk. His wings flared out to the side, flapping spastically to keep his balance. She missed the YAWN attack by Kyle’s Mightyena, “Ugh,” Lex rolled her eyes, retrieving the Braviary’s pokeball to withdraw the sleepy bird and release an unexpected guest: Voltorb.

the malevolent’s taunting was met with a smirk, carved with part hatred, and also part competitiveness that the tempest, skyler dross , was well acquainted with.[break][break]

bright colors swirled from the dark that opened up between the ultra beast and her hound. growling and wounded by its own power, it then sought to deliver a taste of the alien’s own medicine. the mimicked shadow break was met with a counter, sending the same shadows right back again.[break][break]

meanwhile, Alexandra Briarwood ’s presence was not yet acknowledged—though it was a welcome one. lulu’s eyes remained pinned on the person who had been able to best too many of their aces. she knew she, herself, had work to do, if she wanted to compete with giratina and its avatar. it was work she was doing.[break][break]

for now, she’d play. they obviously weren’t taking this primal point today, anyways.

A disinterested stare paints her features as the shadow and the alien exchange blows, she holds no qualms with her Pokemon's choice, allowing the Pheromosa to take the reins by tanking the COUNTER. With a soft and quiet hum, the elite four slowly fishes for another capsule with her hand. The laziness of Katherine's motions, however, is a farce. She is a serpent, slow until the moment she chooses to strike.

It isn't long before the Ultra Beast is replaced with a Cursola, a spectre befitting the Malevolent. The Pokemon's dull eyes stare ahead, past both the shadowfied dog and its owner.

Behind, thanks to Killian Decker's DEFOG, Katherine can spot the quickly descending Josh. Distorted energy courses through her and spills as though she were the centre of a fountain, painting the mountain dark with a tinge of her realm. Gravity betrays Amor Rose, Josh Dragomir and everyone else-- lessening its pull in a widespread area enough to cushion Josh's fall, if not outright aid the gym leader in preventing it altogether.

If only briefly, she allows herself to turn her back on Lulu Flint completely to reprimand the gym leader, "Was I not clear enough the first time, Josh? Pull back and stay near us. Now."

"Where were we again?" She turns back, her eyes flitting from the underboss to her ghost, "ah, yes. You may begin," she instructs her pokemon who then promptly begins to sing. Its PERISH SONG echoes across the mountain, a phantom's wail. [break][break]
"Kyle," she trusts him to hear her. "Do you mind?" He ought to know what she expects.

Perish Song rings over the battlefield, a soothing but deadly melody. Fortunately, Voltorb seems unaffected. Even if it was, Lex’s plans for the pokemon only made its presence temporary . . . very temporary.

She catches a glimpse of Killian Decker leaving out of the corner of her eyes. It distracts her for a moment, wondering if he had some other obligation to commit to within the rift. He’d be ok, she’d seem him when this was over.

“Get,” she grunted to the Voltorb, using a boot to kick it like a beach ball in the direction of kyle lopez. She didn’t want to spoil Lulu Flint’s fun by targeting Katherine Fairburne. It was also well-known the avatar could just harmless phase through a threat.

The Voltorb bounced, the sphere glowing ominous before it rolled to a stop near kyle lopez and his pokemon. A breath later, the pokemon EXPLODED violently, bathing the battlefield in bright white, vibrant orange, and blood red.
