Never underestimate the importance of a ‘bird’s eye view’. From above the rolling clouds of fog atop Mt. Pyre, the soaring Braviary and its rider can see the start of the battle raging below. Not many think to look up when distracted by so many threats on the ground. A TAILWIND stirs behind the Braviary, extending to the allies they carefully watch from above.

Aubie’s KEEN EYES can spot the real threats through the mist. It would have been foolish to not assume The League would have some of their finest stationed outside the rift. Rockett had also sent some of their finest.

Lex’s fingers find the small button at the nape of her neck to open her communication link between herself and her party, “Your approaching the Champion, Katherine Fairburne, and Josh Devlin. Proceed with caution,” she warns, jaw growing tight as the anticipation of battle tickles at her core. Adrenaline floods her system, her heart pounding like a drum of war in her chest. She would come from above, a watchful eye in the sky.

Having taken a page out of the book of an occasionally-quite-wise priam conrad, our favourite day of the week stands clad in a simple motorcycle helmet to go with the black and grey SYGNA SUIT he wears — resembling simple tactical shirt and pants aside from the subtle feather pattern. Metres off the ground and hidden amongst Mount Pyre's tall trees, he watches and waits, listening to Team Rocket's comm chatter.

Just as he says, the fog thickens, brought to life and enhanced by the actions of a swift Zero Form Palafin that swims through it as if it were water. The allies within its MIST would find themselves protected by it, but although its whistling and clicking can occasionally be eerie heard amongst wisps of fog, it soon returns to a Luxury Ball.

It was only a matter of time before matters escalated around the rifts. Having been to The Border before, Josh was a natural fit for the League's defense operation. He had two powerful allies: Top Champion kyle lopez , as well as Elite Four Katherine Fairburne , who had shown him just how vulnerable he was to foes he could not outspeed when he battled the talented trainer's Pheromosa. While he wouldn't have to do much to impress Kyle, Katherine was another story. Given she knew he had his eyes on Champion Rank, he would have to outperform in today's operation.

Staying close to Kyle, Josh was on foot, though he had his Manectric's Poké Ball for when--not if, when--battle broke out. "Hey Kyle..." Josh sheepishly greeted, trying to keep his volume down. "You got your electric familiar handy for me to hop on again? Now would be a great time, I think." Or the water familiar, if only Josh knew. Wouldn't it be grand to see Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, the Johto Beasts, repel Team Rocket from the Pyre rift?

Data was useful, and part of the reason he had come along on this was to gain data on the rifts, as well as those he was allied with. Strengths, and weaknesses were important to know when working on a team, but when he got the message from Alexandra Briarwood of who was here, the supposed threats, the man clad in cybernetic ninja armor paused. Data on the Champion, and the one who possessed those strange Ultra Beasts was more than good enough. Already his allies were making their moves, and with his Gallade at his side, he figured he would snuff out any chance of escape that their enemies might have.

"Josh Devlin is strong, but his reliance on fast maneuvers makes him vulnerable. If you engage him do so with a sturdy pokemon, he has issues with them." He relayed that information to his comrades, and even with the mist hiding him, he still did his best to keep out of sight. He would set up a proper battlefield for his allies. The objective here was to allow other rockets through, and if the League was able to set up a defensive wall, like that large Protect move he had seen Katherine Fairburne use in the Cyber World, it would be all for naught. So he just wouldn't let the wall be built.

An eerie dark glow emanated out from underneath his Gallade, and spread across the field towards their enemies.

"They can no longer Teleport away, or use Protect." Those were the two most important moves, that his Gallade had Imprisoned. As far as he knew they were potentially outmatched, and he wasn't going to play fair by any means. The Elite Four, and the Champion held a lot of interest for him as he had close to no Data on them.

the battlefield was now set up, perhaps they were outgunned, but they weren't outmatched.

TLDR
Gallade used Imprison! Moves that are Currently sealed off for the enemies are as follows: Imprison, Mean Look, Teleport, Protect, Stone Edge, Psycho Cut, Sacred Sword
Amor relayed that the enemy could no longer teleport, or use Protect!

"ah. sorry, i can't. i got in my sygna suit since we'd be going to the rifts," he responds to Josh Devlin. "it looks pretty dope, though, right? looks casual and not as flashy as the others have."

then again, they might need all the help they can get. "i can strip if you want," he offers.

it was about time this kind of thing happened. opportunistic and secretive, as they have come to present themselves, rocket does their best to embody these traits in this act.

kyle takes out his mightyena at the first signs of aggression. a bark in different directions come in steady rhythm, and the growing uneasiness in a different pokeball forewarns him of another pressing issue.

"but yeah, we're against five. among them are avatars. not sure how many," he informs the other two in a soft voice.

if they want to know where is where, all they had to do was memorize where his mightyena had pointed amid the mist surrounding them. they won't get a second chance, as the dark-type takes the opportunity to make a defensive move.

"snatch."

as rockets move in to their positions with the security of the mist, they would find themselves lacking the security that the blanket of thick fog while the league party soon enjoys the similar cover. while the clouds grow from the mightyena's temporary ability to breathe icy mists, they were still, nonetheless, surrounded by assailants.

"can you just get us out?" he asks Katherine Fairburne. "i can't be bothered to deal with this. it's going to end with one side retreating anyways."

it's what both are the expert of, from what kyle's experience can tell.

in the next second, kyle feels a flash of pain by his side. he drops on the ground soon after, having the curtain up right as Killian Decker's shot has been aimed.

The appearance of Lulu Flint was unexpected, but welcome. Lex wouldn’t say no to the help from one of Rocket’s own avatars against two of the League’s. With three on their side, she felt the odds were in their favor . . . hopefully.

“Acknowledged,” she addressed Amor’s warning as the Braviary settled on an air current with broad wings spread wide. The Beast was familiar with Josh Devlin, having ‘visited’ his gym when it first opened. Good times.

Their view from above was starting to fade. The further the MIST crept in, the more difficult it was to clearly make out their targets. The younger Lex would have loved nothing more than to direct from above, about Beast Lex took the opportunity to strike.

After the strike from Killian Decker’s Slowbro and the warning barks from kyle lopez’s Mightyena, there was no use in hiding, “That one,” she spurred the Braviary forward. Lex clutched his feather tight as they tucked into his sides. Together they feel from above, a SKY ATTACK on silent wings aimed for Katherine Fairburne’s Pheromosa.

a sneak attack. not a bad idea, considering what they were up against. when the cover was snatched, it left most without anything to hide behind from foes unseen. lulu, however, was gone, tucked into shadows and making her way through bits of darkness cast across the landscape.[break][break]

where she reappeared was perhaps daring. her shadows grew paler in the light of the rift as she approached from behind—though keeping several strides of distance, to be closed by the houndoom that burst again from its ball. like Amor Rose , she wasn’t here to play fair.[break][break]

purple and pink swirled around the dog as it charged towards the elite four, emboldened by the corruption in its glare. shadow break aimed for a sucker punch at Katherine Fairburne , in similar fashion to the one Killian Decker ’s slowbro had taken at kyle.

"Always so annoying." Mars thinks when it becomes clear that the protective qualities of the MIST are SNATCHED away by the enemy. He doesn't even need to see who did it to blame it on kyle lopez, it's has his name written all over it. The worst part is it leaves the Pokémon of all Team Rocket members present vulnerable to having their SPEED decreased by the ELECTROWEB that Katherine Fairburne commands her Pheromosa to launch ahead. Good thing Alexandra Briarwood had had the foresight to use that TAILWIND.

However, the cover of fog is a double-edged sword. As much as the enemy can't know where they are, they also can't see the enemy well, and as such, Mars himself almost gets caught in the attack as well... were it not for the keen senses of Hatterene and their ability to perceive hostility.

The underboss clicks his tongue in annoyance, he'd call for Hatterene to mega evolve, but sadly one can't do that when wearing a SYGNA SUIT. Too bad.

Josh laughed at kyle lopez 's offer. "That won't be necessary," he quipped back. "But next time we're on business like this together, please keep me in mind. Any excuse to see your Raikou-familiar again." Suddenly, he saw his god's Avatar drop cold. "Kyle!" Josh cried out of concern. "Kyle, you okay?" While he was hunched over, Katherine Fairburne tossed him a Poké Ball. "Of course I won't! Just because the Great One hasn't bestowed me with the Blessing of Thunder yet doesn't mean I can't battle with the best of them! And you'll see, Katherine. When this is over, I'm coming for you at the Pokémon League."

With that, he clicked the Poké Ball open, mind blown at its contents: a Zeraora at his beck and call thanks to the gratefulness of the Malevolant. "...Raikou?!" he cried. "No, this isn't Raikou. I've never seen a Pokémon like this before. What is it?" he asked her. The electric Pokémon crouched next to Josh and gave him a serious stare, beckoning him to hop aboard. "Alright!" He sat astride the giant feline, ready to see what the mythical Pokémon was capable of. "Let's see what you cAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN~"

The Gym Leader let out a loud cry as Zeraora lunged forward with lightning-like acceleration only matched by the Great Raikou, brandishing electrified claws in the form of a QUICK ATTACK toward the Rockets that Kyle's Mightyena had found. It was almost as intense as the speed Kyle's Raikou-familiar had overwhelmed him with. Was the Pokémon he was riding on a legendary related to Raikou? It sure felt like it, with how uncontrollable the feline felt. As the Zeraora swerved, a SHADOW BALL raced toward the two. For a while, the electric cat outsped it, but it quickly caught up to them once the speed burst wore off, engulfing them both in stinging shadows. The Zeraora shed a great deal of speed trying to keep Josh from falling off as retreated back to Katherine's side after his hit-and-run tactic.

He watched the battlefield from his vantage point, and when he saw Josh Devlin gain a Zeraora from the Elite Four witch, he just sighed. The man was problematic enough without wielding a legendary on top of it all, but that was fine, already a plan began to form in his mind on how to end this battle summarily it would just take a bit of set up. With the League unable to use the standard defense move, they were at least at an advantage.

"Leave, Devlin to me....I have an idea, if you all can keep the other two away from us for a bit?" Would come the request from the armored man. Hoping his colleagues would agree, he wondered just how well this rematch would go since he was using decidedly very different tactics than before. Had the Gym Leader grown? "Belus, Stone Edge, make a track for the racer." He'd give the order, and as Josh Devlin raced at those highspeeds, pillars of rock would sprout up on either side of him, attempting to pin him in, and give him a track to follow.

Amor's plan was simple he was going to guide Josh directly to him, and well after that, he would see just how strong the weakest link of this particular chain was. So he waited, and hoped that the other would just come right at him the way that he wanted him to, the worst case scenario was that he would have to force his plan to work, and as much of a drag as that would be, it would still work out in the end.

TLDR
Gallade is using Stone Edge to create an artificial track to guide Josh Devlin towards Amor
Amor asks to be the one who handles the Gym Leader, and to keep the other two away from them for a bit!

the pain on his side forces him to clutch on the point of impact. curled on the ground, he can only offer a smirk for Josh Devlin and a grimacing expression for Katherine Fairburne.

while he trusts the elite four to work with him without much communication due to how close their styles are, the gym leader was a different case. as he attempts to get back to his knees, a helpful advice is let out.

"slow down the tempo. play reactively. we don't have the advantage."

he needs bodies in front of him, and katherine wasn't the type to do as such. he supposed he's gotten too spoiled with the likes of equally aggressive members of aqua holding such positions.

unfortunately, he's not sure if josh has heard the message before he zoomed out.

another pokemon would've been sent out to fulfil such role, but pains prevent his hand from moving fast enough. he'll work with what he has right now, he supposed.

"yawn," he tells his mightyena. he looks up to the sky. "that one."

the most visible one would be Alexandra Briarwood's braviary. the mightyena locks on to the target without as much as checking in with its trainer, and gives off a yawn for the flying-type.

kyle thinks it's cute.
