SELENA NODS WITH APPROVAL AT THE SHOW Hitoshi Inoue HAS GIVEN THEIR AUDIENCE, her smirk breaking her pained and weary face as they deal with their one and only attempt at killing this god of simulation.

"You got it." She speaks calmy over comms, directing to Ashley Shepard; a feeble attempt to quell the storm brewing inside her. When did simulations ever get this real? She reminds herself, feeling the andrenaline coursing through her veins and into her head. It is clear Hitoshi Inoue's suicide mission is one that must be dealt with such elaborate strategy: the only way to kill a legendary is to be legendaries themselves.

After watching Ashley Shepard throw his Goomy, Selena decides to use her last straw: she reveals the pendant inside her blouse, a megastone that mimics the colors of the Hatterene. Light surrounds the fairy witch, a spectacle that shines upon the battlefield as it transforms into a creature of wonder: a MEGA HATTERENE.

"You know what to do, Hecate." The Hatterene summons fallings stars surrounding Groudon as it electrocutes it, the maximum power of G-MAX SMITE confusing the god as it attempts to use ERUPTION. Selena glances upon her scrying Delphox, who in turns SMILES while doing the FUTURE SIGHT.

Selena knows what will happen next.

From the day he was taken in by the Hasegawa, Hitoshi has been a sword. Swords do not think. They are uncaring tools, cold steel to be wielded by whoever has the conviction to carry the blade. To further that woman's ambitions, the blade has been given to Rocket. It turns towards whatever threats they see fit. It strikes where it is directed.[break]
He is falling. The earth gives way under his feet. Everything has been leading up to this moment. Every sacrifice was to place Tokugawa, the blade wielded by a blade, exactly where he needed to be. Hitoshi closes his eyes. He trusts in himself. He trusts in this creature's capacity to murder. Tokugawa is but an extension of himself.[break]
Groudon is wreathed in flames. Roaring, it little understands why these puny creatures continue to resist. It is confounded by their leader's tactics. Its power slams time and time against the shield raised by the left hand.[break]
It is time for the blade to strike.[break]
Tokugawa sees the hole made in this seemingly invincible armor. The lava churning within him and the rock scabbed over it are the same primordial ground as the plates that move nations. It is the height of human folly to imagine that a blade could pierce such a creature.[break]
Falling into a kneeling position, the blade on his head is raised towards that hole. Beneath it lies the creature's heart. He's sure of that.[break]
"Go! Fight! Fight! Fiiiiiiiiight!" Hitoshi bellows at his teammates and the sword itself. Tokugawa rushes forward, moving so quick that he seems to disappear in a flash of light. His blade is a flash of steel, piercing through that invincible armor. The road to this single piercing strike was paved with bodies. Almost all of their Pokemon have been killed within the simulation to deliver them here.[break]
And, in the end, it was worth the sacrifice. Tokugawa comes clear out the other side of the creature, its heart pierced on his blade. It is piping hot. There is no time to celebrate this triumph. It seeps lava onto the Pokemon. Were this not a simulation, the Pokemon would be dead before he hit the wall of the volcano.[break]
A god dies.

The Groudon roars its last. And with it, every sacrifice made to this point leads to the final moments. Selena breaks out the secret weapon, and with it her Hatterene strikes, and a breath later, Tokugawa exits the other side of the Groudon, Laguna still clung onto the metal beast, having seen the simulated insides of a Groudon.[break][break]

And it's over. Just like that.[break][break]

Limping over their direction, Salem the Umbreon makes a weak, painful mew as she approaches, with Ana the Pikachu out cold and broken. And though the victory could be afforded to them, it was not without suffering at the jaws of defeat. Every piece moved how it needed to, and as Ashley returns the Pikachu and the Umbreon, he just looks towards Goomy, who snores happily on the metal biped that had slain a god.[break][break]

They did it.[break][break]

It was done.[break][break]

The battle is over, and Ashley throws a fist up to the air. He had been wrong about Hitoshi, and he shoots him a smirk. Knew where the heart was, and took it. A smirk that softens to Selena.[break][break]

"Fuck yeah."[break][break]

GROUDON DYING AT THE HANDS OF Hitoshi Inoue’S KINGAMBIT is a sight to behold. It is the bittersweet taste of victory that linger’s in Selena’s mouth. It is sweet smell of the god’s blood that sends them back to reality.

The desolate land mimicking Mt. Chimney has been reduced to pixilated data: the world as they know it for almost an hour slowly transforms back into the familiar view of the Rocket training room. All the traces of magma and earth cracks has been replaced by the metal floors. The dead god is know nothing but void.

"Well, I guess we made it." Selena speaks with both of her partners, finally closing the gap between them now that they are just feet away from her.

They have made it but with so much repercussions on their end. It is clear that even at simulations, the power of a god is unparalleled. But at least they know that nothing is impossible now.

They are truly the Godkillers.
