As the afternoon sky bleeds into evening, another announcement draws the attention of festival guests. luka chêne, using her connections and a little bit of charm, has managed to get DESIREE BLOOMS to agree to a performance. As the time for her show draws near, guests are welcome to come gather around the stage, or enjoy the music from the snowfields around them. Either way, it's sure to be a wonderful show![break][break]

The atmosphere, which was already jovial, becomes electric as Desiree takes the stage. She's flanked by two more dragons: an Altaria each from Remiel Calcifet and luka chêne. Their soft and fluffy appearances perfectly compliment the lovely performer as she addresses the gathered crowd.[break][break]

"Hi my loves~ ♡ Keeping warm, I hope?" Desiree smiles as the two Altaria produce dragon flames that burst above her in the colors of fluctuating pink and gold. They form her name, Desiree Blooms, in whimsical text before shattering, casting dragonfire petals through a sea of pink tonic.[break][break]

That and her gentle scolding (if he could even consider it that) tug a genuine smile onto his lips. “I’m having fun already, believe it or not! The festivities continued to kick off and the joy of winter time was in full swing. Yuina was absolutely delighted that her dearest and closest friend DESIREE BLOOMS was performing. She truly was an angel, both in her life and as a presence on stage, Desiree was like no one else Yuina could ever imagine in this life or otherwise. Her bestie had such a light about her, she filled the stage with all of the glowing love that she had in her heart every day, and listening to her music, her words, it was a treasure that Yuina would cherish always.[break][break]
The many stalls that adorned the festival grounds had food and drinks like hot cocoa in spades, Yuina made sure to get some hot cocoa for the cold weather, smiling at the warmth that filled her hands in holding the cup close.

No need to apologize—he hasn't been a bother at all," she assured the man, waving her hand in lighthearted dismissal. "I only wish I had as much energy as he does!"

Gesturing toward herself and then to her Alolan Sandshrew, she added by way of introduction, "I'm Aurelie, and this is Verglas. It's nice to meet you both, Eddie and Tsume."

Seeing Eddie eye her Pokemon with interest, Aurelie beamed. "Thank you! Isn't he great? I found him in the Safari Zone almost a year ago exactly. Usually, Hoenn doesn't get cold enough for him to be comfortable, so I figured I should let him enjoy the snow and ice while it lasts."

As she spoke, the redhead gradually became aware of another announcement, followed by the sounds of applause and music from a stage set up in the midst of the festival. Without even realizing it, her head started nodding and bobbing along in time to the infectious, lively beat. She didn't recognize the song, but the female singer's voice sounded vaguely familiar.

"Well, I guess it wouldn't be a festival without some live music," she commented aloud, turning her head toward the performance. A faint, embarrassed flush crept along her cheeks as she asked, "Do you know the artist? I'm not much of a music person, so I usually have no idea who the popular musicians or bands are at any given time."

Watching the ribbons of pink hair flow around the stage as Desiree sang, Yuina couldn't wait for her to finish her set so that they could enjoy the rest of the festival together. So far, she felt like it was a nice time, just getting to observe and interact, representing the Rangers.[break]
Spending more and more time around the region, Yuina thought that she was seeing more and more familiar faces, even ones that looked possibly vaguely familiar in a passing glance, like Yumi Hasegawa, she looked awfully familiar but not enough for her to recall exactly...[break][break]
And then she even saw some surprising faces like Aurelie Lefevre... Yuina still didn't know her name, but she would recognize the woman anywhere, as the one who had tried to attack her beneath the swamps out of the control that the megalopolans thrust upon them all...[break]

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Aurelie visibly relaxed and grinned back at Eduardo Hisakawa as he too admitted his cheerful lack of recognition of the performer currently singing onstage. "Thank goodness, I was worried I was about to get a lecture about my ignorance about pop culture and famous music! But I guess that makes two of us, as far as non-music experts go."

She couldn't help looking back up toward the stage, especially as bursts of colorful pink and gold flames shot through the air. When Aurelie pulled her gaze away, she saw a face in the crowd that brought her up short. I...know her, she thought, her chest tightening with a feeling of anxiety and guilt.

The redhead hadn't expected to recognize anyone at the festival, but the sight of Yuina Higashi brought back memories of a murky green swamp, a shimmering cave, and a noxious purple chain stretching from her body. She swallowed, recalling something else. She remembered seeing this girl's face contorted in shock and horror—because Aurelie, infected by madness, had just attacked her out of the blue.

Aurelie gulped, her smile fading. But she'd vowed to be done running away from things. So, instead, she looked back at Eddie and bit her lip. "By the way, I just saw someone in the crowd that I should...well, that I should apologize to. So, I'm going to head over there."

A faint glimmer of humor lit up in her single eye. "I guess you can come along if you feel like it. It might be some decent drama, especially if I get slapped in the face, as I deserve. But feel free to not if you'd rather avoid all that."

With that, she took a deep breath and strode over toward Yuina, not even sure what she wanted to say to her but knowing she wanted to say something. Aurelie paused before the young woman in the Ranger's uniform and cleared her throat awkwardly. Then she held out her hand in its woolly, snow-dusted mitten in both a gesture of greeting and a show of harmlessness and peaceful intent.

"Hello," she ventured, looking at Yuina. "I, um, I don't know if you remember me from everything that happened with the Bloodmoon Beast in Route 119, but, uh, if you do remember..."

The words emerged in a rush. "I just wanted to apologize for what happened there and for coming after you the way I did! I'm really sorry it happened, and if I'd been in control of myself, it wouldn't have happened! And if there's anything I can do for you in the aftermath of all that, please let me know!"
