Sand.

It was coarse, rough, irritating and it got everywhere, especially if you weren’t used to living very near or by the beach.

(Yes, I really went there. No, I am not sorry.)

However, since Jack came from a place with a lot of it, this was practically nothing to him at this point.

(Just don’t get him started on Pyukumuku. Those were another entirely different nightmare altogether; one he didn’t want to think of, thank you very much!)

“Huh. What’s gotten them all… wait one second…” he stopped to gape at the Sandygast and the… whoa, that was one big-ass Palossand!

“How the hell did y’alls get here?!” he exclaimed; quickly calling his Absol, Cordy, forward.

“Let’s go on some clean-up!” he called her way; before she lashed out with a Night Slash!

Hideo had had enough sand after all those times he went into the Ultra Desert. But it was hard to avoid it when a bunch of Pallosands were swarming a beach.

At least the beach was a lot cooler than that desert. And filled with fewer bloodthirsty bugs.

His Starmie floated about, looking about for the perfect Pallosand for its trainer. Any that got the bright idea to try and attack it, got a faceful of Hydro Pump. It was enough to dissuade others from getting any funny ideas.

Hideo couldn't help but wonder why they were suddenly showing up like this…

What in the world was Bam making? She was really big but his Tyranitar was truly enjoying her time in the sun. She just loved to play in the sand and build castles and what not. But the sun was starting to go down and Ghost was starting to get tired as his eyes would be getting sleepy. This was a fun day to say the least. He gets a chance to spend with Bam and to get to know her better. Now time was up and recalled her to his pokemon. It was time to go. As Ghost gave a smile and walked off.

Rafael eyed the Palossand with an amused expression as his Toedscruel scattered spikes around him protectively. He thought it strange to see so many of the pokemon this far inland but as long as they weren't bothering him, he didn't care what they were doing.[break][break]

"At least no one will mistake you for a sand castle out here and kick you over," he grinned at one of the pokemon as its sandy form shuffled by outside the ring of stony spikes on the ground.[break][break]

Rafael tossed a pokeball at the creature, adding "Maybe I could put you to work on artifact retrieval when we have beach digs."[break][break]

Bryan was enjoying his time on the beach when suddenly a swarm of pallosand came over and destroy his sand castle. [break][break]

He sat there, stunned for a bit. He seemed calm almost, took a sip of his beer and took a long sigh. Just when he was starting to feel normal again he drove his beer into the ground and fucking started to yell profanities at the ghost pokemon. [break][break]

"WHERE DO YOU GET OFF DESTROYING MY SAND CASTLE?! YOU'RE ONE YOURSELF." he yells at it as the pokemon starts to cry, but tears couldn't rectify the injustice he experienced. [break][break]

He slams his fist into the ground and sends out his hatterene who unleashes a barrage of dazzling gleam light to deal with the pathetic little ghosts and tries to catch one. [break][break]

Why had Frank Caffey insisted they take a trip to the beach? And not even Salteport's beach, which was only a quick bus ride away. No, this was some remote strip in the middle of bumfuck nowhere.[break][break]

"Fuck this." DAMIEN RUSSO groaned from where he sat near the shoreline, flicking his hand into a half-formed sand sculpture he'd been piddling with, causing the quasi-form of a ZORUA to crumble before his eyes.[break][break]

"Fuck that." He continued, swatting at the numerous bugs that buzzed around his head. Unfortunately, the giant, flopping sun hat protecting his pale skin was little help in keeping insects at bay.[break][break]

"Fuck everything about this." With a laborious sigh the grunt threw his hands in the air and fell back with a distinct thud! into the sand behind him.[break][break]

Right on cue, because of course he wasn't annoyed enough already, a giant PALOSSAND emerged from the ground below, looking pissed as hell. Great.[break][break]

Despite their ignorance to the cause of such a sudden migration, Hoenn's rangers received the call to help deal with a colony of Palossand shacking up along Route 123. Petra is among them, a particular zeal in her motions due to a fondness for the species. Though potentially dangerous as with any pokemon, this one in particular could be very helpful for the future, when Petra's aspirations to run a daycare of her own finally came to fruition.

The mammal at her side easily matches her pace with a simple trot, allowing the both of them to quickly confront the problem of the day. But with so many others working to the same end, not to mention her lack of experience... Maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Trying to temper expectation as they locked in on one of the adverse sandcastles, she quickly looses her beast upon the ghost. The sudden command of her Absol's "Night Slash!" would parry any defiance on the creature's part, allowing Petra to follow through with the primed pokeball soon leaving her grasp.

Her eyes fixate upon the device as it wriggles around on the ground. Please work. Being an inexperienced trainer was one thing, but Petra loathed to look the part.

Wind gusts kicked up swirls of SAND that breezed through the area. Lam lifted an arm to block his face from the gusts, but he could feel the grit work its way into his hair—as if he’d been spending the day digging sand moats or letting Rook bury him on the beach.[break][break]

Lam looked over at Virizion with a wry grin— “That’s a castle fit for a knight, don’t ya think?” He pointed at one of the large pallosand, laughing at his own joke. The Sword of Justice seemed a little less amused, though it didn’t rebuff him entirely. Virizion only shook its head, seeming to sigh with its eyes.[break][break]

His shoulders sagged in amused defeat, “Yeah yeah okayyy, let’s clean this up.” The swirl of MAGICAL LEAVES battered the ghosts back into a contained space. Lobbing a spare pokeball for good measure.

"Joules, help set up the perimeter. We can't let this swarm make it to town." he said as his partner began setting up shields as a sort of barrier against the sand castle pokemon. The Palossand and Sandygast seem confused as the steel type tries to stop their approach only to grow angry and begin their attack. Somme are fended back by an angry looking Octillery, shadow tendrils shooting out form under her as Streenstrup SHADOW HOLDS some of the bigger ghost types and HYDRO PUMPS them into submission.

Unlike most who'd seemed to question the sudden appearance of these sentient sandcastles in an otherwise forested grasslands, Bella had found herself more invested in just how many of these spectral fellas there had been, with a grin like a kid at a candy store, she'd had a slightly menacing grin on her face. She'd had her own theory on the number of Palossand in the area, she was sort of aware of the many entries regarding these sandy little guys, and how they and their prevolution'd either supposedly possess people into fortifying them or trap them and steal their vitality. While most might shy away from such a thing, Bella had found the very idea fascinating, a look in her eye filled with curiosity... her own Absol staring at the curiously clueless girl with a look of disbelief and disappointment—the Disaster Pokémon didn't exactly need its acute danger sense to foretell the coming disaster, after all.[break][break]

Of course, before her Absol could even have the chance to stop her, Bella had tested out the supposed theory, sticking her hand into the maw of a nearby Sandygast—she didn't exactly want to get trapped in a Palossand after all, that'd be dangerous—yet rather unsurprisingly she'd seemed to lose her sense of will, seeming to quietly begin working on building said Sandygast to a greater size, gathering nearby sand in her endeavour.[break][break]

Fortunately for Bella, her Absol was far more careful about the matter, staring rather disheartedly at the individual she'd considered her trainer, before working to free Bella from her curse, a quick Night Slash thrown to scare off the Sandygast by its own free will, taking the opportunity to scare off more of the living mounds of sand while Bella had slowly regained her wit. Of course, unfortunately for Bella, she'd have no memory of the actual sensation of being cursed by the pokémon, much to her disappointment.

Unlike DAMIEN RUSSO, Frank was enjoying the beach. Though his own sand sculpture wasn't exactly fine art, he felt rather proud of the malformed-looking Linoone. And when the bugs tried to bite at him, his Chatot intervened, swatting them out of the air with AIR SLASH. [break][break]

"Check out my sculpture, Damien!" Frank called out, waving at the other man who had fallen onto his back on the beach. [break][break]

At the moment, however, a Palossand rose up in indignation. It squared off against Damien's Haunter, but Frank was not about to let the wild Pokémon get in the way of their fun outing. [break][break]

"Angelo, go help chase that thing away." [break][break]

One of her cousins sent a brief text that said "Palossand swarm u should check it out" and Charlotte was on her with with a map for directions and a wide-brimmed straw hat shoved down on her head.

Really she was just there to snap a few pictures of the palace-like Pokemon, a few selfies, and then be on her way. But there were tons of people milling about, some looking professionals and others just as sightsee-y as her, and they were throwing pokeballs in an effort to thin the swarm.

sand stretch throughout the beaches, with wild pokemon mixing in with the sandcastles. priam doesn't know if they were sandcastles at all, or if they were all palossand.

as everyone else swoops in, priam meshes in with the crowds. with the people all concentrated on catching one of the sandcastles, he decides that hopping on the chance on his own was okay.

with a throw of his ball, he takes his chance to gain another one of these.
