THE GAUNTLET [attr="class","omgenmid"] MEMBER EVENT - ROCKET PVP BATTLE ROYALE MEGATHREAD PARTICIPANTS ONLY [player]https://file.garden/ZWyHNtDjIhZcqtBS/HOENN-Music/Masayoshi-Soken-Find-the-Flame.mp3[/player] 🎼 "Find the Flame" - Masayoshi Soken | Final Fantasy XVI OST [break] AN EXPLOSIVE START
AT THE SIGNAL TO BEGIN, FIGHTS BREAK OUT ACROSS THE ARENA. Immediately, the alliances forged between participants come into play. Gerald Kaiser and his new allies, Violet Fairbanks and Fenelle Miller, chase after dorian westcliff and Hitoshi Inoue, rushing into the area illuminated by harsh sunlight. [break][break]
As Gerald Kaiser's ABSOL casts STONE EDGE, dorian westcliff's MAGMORTAR obfuscates sight lines with SMOKESCREEN. Under the dark cloud cover, Hitoshi Inoue's CERULEDGE slips past rocky teeth with SHADOW SNEAK. However, a dynamic METEOR MASH from Fenelle Miller's METAGROSS interrupts the ghostly knight's BITTER BLADE. [break][break]
Violet Fairbanks's IRON CROWN leaps into the fray, tag-teaming with the ABSOL to target the MAGMORTAR. Twin strikes NIGHT SLASH and TACHYON CUTTER seek their foe, but the fog obscures too much. Even FUTURE SIGHT reveals little, except debris falling into darkness. In the end, MAGMORTAR'S LAVA PLUME engulfs IRON CROWN, incapacitating the Pokémon with severe burns. [break][break]
In the center of the arena, MAKI YUKIMURA attempts the drop on DANE FAIRCHILD. Her EMPOLEON obscures the forest and pond with MIST, then bursts from the water to slash at his KIRLIA with METAL CLAW. [break][break]
Unfortunately, the latter's PSYCHIC prowess proves more powerful. Even through the thick fog, it senses its foe's movements and warns its trainer of the woman approaching him. By the time the mist clears, MAKI YUKIMURA and EMPOLEON find themselves bested by DANE FAIRCHILD and KIRLIA. [break][break]
Rhys Collins might consider himself lucky, for his REUNICLUS shrugs off the poison of TOXIC SPIKES without effort. But the defensive boost of WONDER ROOM fails when countered by ameena abadi's NIHILEGO'S CLEAR SMOG. [break][break]
A LIGHT SCREEN defends against the offensive assault of POWER GEM while REUNICLUS fights back with PSYSHOCK. Locked in such vicious combat, both Pokémon exhaust themselves until they collapse onto the ground at the same time, too beaten to continue. [break][break]
Elsewhere, kepler brueshaber's BEHEEYEM initiates a skirmish by casting PROTECT on its trainer, then striking oscar clayton and his GENESECT with THUNDERBOLT. As the falling duo recover, Genesect uses TECHNO BLAST in retaliation, then an empowered MAGNET BOMB on the cliff itself. [break][break]
Assisting kepler brueshaber, Adrian Malcolm's GRIMMSNARL manages to land a FAKE OUT and SUCKER PUNCH combination on GENESECT to knock the war machine out of the air, before both the fairy and its trainer fall amidst the rocky collapse. Only kepler brueshaber and his BEHEEYEM remain standing on a precarious edge. [break][break]
Another loud smash thunders through the arena as Aurelie Lefevre's deadfall trap catches Kazuya Yoshida unaware. Despite getting the jump on him, however, his EMOLGA escapes unscathed. The small rodent faces off against her GOLURK, whose Z-MOVE: DEADLY DEFENDER covers it in earthen scythes. [break][break]
Unfortunately, EMOLGA'S ASTONISH catches GOLURK off-guard, leaving it wide open for its feat of ACROBATICS. An attempted FIRE PUNCH goes wide, and before long, EMOLGA outmaneuvers the golem into submission. [break][break]
Nearby, parker jones's LUCARIO and Alba Evovae's HEATRAN square off. The former muscles through the disorienting METAL SOUND to strike at the latter in CLOSE COMBAT. A MAGMA STORM comes to life around them, making the terrain dangerous for their trainers. [break][break]
While backing up from the lava, Alba Evovae slips and falls, his cry alerting his Pokémon to his predicament. A distraction is an opening, and LUCARIO seizes the opportunity to lay its opponent low.
END OF ROUND 1 An alarm blares, and all the lights of the arena suddenly turn red, bathing the entire space in crimson. The screen beneath the observation deck reads, "STOP." jayden cross's calm voice resonates over the loudspeaker while the screen displays his words. [break][break]
[break]
A door opens in the wall exactly where he indicated, closing only after the aforementioned Rockets have exited through it. [break][break]
[break]
Then, curiously, the ground along the edge of the circular arena begins to quake and buckle. Within seconds, the outermost section collapses, revealing a ring of darkness and a long drop. What remains aloft is two-thirds its original size. [break][break]
The now-familiar bell chimes again and the lights return to their normal, yellow-white color. The screen says, "BEGIN." [break][break]
REMINDER: THIS EVENT ICLY TAKES PLACE IN MAY, AFTER PRISMATIC PENITENTIARY.
