When faced with a big wave, you had to go and surf on it. That was the law of surfing. No matter how dangerous, no matter how risky, you had to surf on the big wave.

So when Rex bore witness to a big wave, there was only one thing to do: surf it until it crashed into the sand and disappeared into the ether. This was the type of wave that they spoke of in legend. A wave so impeccable that everyone described in their own cool surf stories, but nobody ever actually saw.

It was here.

Rex had to surf on it. He ran forward.

Hideo's panic was undercut by the cheering of the onlookers; Uxie-disguised-as-him had pulled the trick off, a solid Primarina Twist.

The real Hideo was desperately trying to think of some way to get Uxie to stop - but from the sounds of things, it was going for the same trick again.

He felt a small tug on his hand - a familiarly-gelatinous hand, tugging him down to get him to sit down.

His Ditto just wanted him to enjoy his time, while Uxie pulled off some sick tricks.

The trick was far simpler, and easier than Zachary thought. Was it beginner's luck? Or more on the Mantine's effort? Zachary felt himself spurred forward and the simplest lean, led to a feverant and swift shot forward. As the flip ended, and they returned to gravity-- Mantine led them into the wave, where they landed and surfed it easily. [break][break] "Whoooooh!!" Zachary cried as he rode on the friendly Mantine. THe Mantine whistled with joy, enjoying the surfing trip. [break][break] Watching from a distance, Hermes saw as Zachary successfully did the trick, and stick the landing. Both joy and jealousy showed on the Alola Raichu's face as he didn't hesitate further. He soon hopped on his tail, and sped forward to the shore and water to start playing with his trainer too. [break][break] This time, Zachary choose to try a Primarina Twist! This one required flips, and a personal one--if the Mantine could accommodate. As the next wave came, Mantine sped up and raced for the edge up above! [break][break] "Here we goooooo!" Zachary cried as they jumped, flipped and finally Zachary jumping himself in hopes to stick the landing back on his partner Mantine... [break][break]

After being unceremoniously tossed into the throw of the waves, Yuina managed to come up from the water, slumped over the Mantine's back, only to be met with the uproarious laughter of John Sullivan. For all of the trouble he was worth, he stood atop his own Mantine, beaming at her follies.[break][break]
"Alright trouble, I want to see what a veteran can do," she offered wrly after hoisting herself up back onto the water type. It seemed though that she wouldn't have to enact any justice for herself just yet, the karmic efforts of the universe were going to help her out.[break][break]
"And you make it look so easy," Yuina laughed as he too made a great show of eating waves just like she did.[break]
This was certainly a bit harder than the instructor made it sound and look as she stood up on the mantine to give it another go.

Psyduck stayed close but its confused expression was a little offensive. Or, perhaps, it was the same one it always wore. Regardless, nothing could kill Clover's confidence. They decided to follow up with a different trick for variety.

Tempest politely refused the offer of a rental one, unclipping a well-worn Dive Ball from his belt. Honey was one of his pokemon that didn't actually battle; he was more of a spoiled pet. Of course, these wild tricks would take practice to fully achieve. El yelps as they fall from the Mantine's back, and is sent into the drink...

... Though, they couldn't help but laugh brightly as Bibidi - giving them a flat stare - fishes them out of the water. This was fun! Though, they had a feeling she wanted to advise them to be more careful, by the look on her face.

Climbing onto the Mantine's back though, they were prepared to get back into the thick of it. They wanted to pull it off, some way some how!
