Most of my favorites reference astronomical objects. My two Pokémon are named after the lone asteroid Kalliope and its moon, Linus. Other favorites include Cassiopeia, Electra, Lyra, Medea and Lucretia. Lavinia and Asteria are lovely too, though not related to astronomy.

Entertaining what-ifs is pointless, but I'm feeling generous enough to answer the question. Mossdeep is my first choice thanks to the Space Center and observatory, but Slateport has several great places: The beach, harbor and lighthouse; the central mall and the night market for shopping; and, of course, the Oceanic Museum. I'd love to visit all of Hoenn's museums, and the hot springs in Lavaridge. Then there's the areas of research interest, like the Seafloor Cavern. Finally, my number one destination outside of Hoenn is Snowbelle, with sites of scientific interest worldwide coming after.
