A leisurely stroll through the park is more than enough to clear her head, something she often finds herself doing when given the chance to. The conversation she has just left behind fresh and tumbling around in her head as they often do. Some questions are hard to answer and she has done her best to do so despite that fact.

If only she could be as free spirited as the Comfey she sees gathering around the area, though she's certainly much more like her Hydreigon. Either option would be notably better some days. Not because she would seek to leave her life behind, but because she never seems to get a break from it. Maybe that's why she feels the need to toss the ball she does, regardless of her desire for the pokemon.

Trekking through the grass latched droplets of dew to her shoes--it was a chill that she could ignore as her eyes drifted to the clustering of comfey. Their help had been appreciated, and as a gift from the Slateport Police Department, Bailey Cooper walked to the pokemon with a jar of sweet honey as a gift and a sweet breakfast.[break][break]

And if one were to linger for too long, she would offer up a pokeball to the selfless fairy. From the corner of her eye, she could spy Isra Nightingale , and spared a wave as she balanced the honey in her other arm.[break][break]

It was truly such a beautiful sight, she had to admit. Seeing wild Pokemon come to humanity's aid of their own complete free will was a pleasant reminder of the good in the world, despite all the fear and uncertainty, there was good. In Slateport, she practically had a reputation now, the Saint of Slateport. It wasn't anything she ever expected to happen, she just wanted to help people as best as she could. And yet, as it stood she was volunteering at a local hospital once again as Grace the Gardevoir made her rounds through the building.

So many people had gotten injured that day, it was honestly insane. From word of some strange Pokenger hero rescuing a lady named Bailey Cooper, to Mateo... She didn't want to think about it too much. Everything still kind of hurt to think about, and she couldn't exactly put on a happy face for other people who got hurt worse than she did if she was just frowning in thought.

Letting out a soft sigh, Ruby sat back and watched as the Comfeys roamed around, bringing joy to everyone they met. It was so... sweet, she almost wanted one for herself. Standing to her feet, out of the corner of her eye Ruby noticed something interesting. A blue Comfey was zipping about like it was nobody's business, eager to simply make people smile. "That one..." Ruby mumbled to herself, quickly trying to catch up to it and give it an offer. Hopefully, they could sense she just wanted to help people too.

Perry decided to stop by the park after volunteering at one of Slateport’s many hospitals; after all, it was an ample opportunity to put what he’d learn thus far in Unova to the test.

Truthfully, heading to the park wasn’t his own idea; instead, he was following the whims of Florence, his Comfey who seemed to recognize some of the many Comfey who fluttered over to the damaged town. Leaving the flowery pokemon to its own devices, he takes a seat at a nearby bench to watch a crowd of people come by. They were attracted by the swarm – who wouldn’t be? Out of the corner of his eye, he spots a familiar face, smiling as he waves to Ruby Walker .

Slateport park was bustling with both people and pokemon alike.[break][break]

Lucas walks past @perry with phone in hand. He was just wrapping up a call regarding a new shipment of Galar pokemon, many of which would be put to auction. As he bids farewell to the auctioneer he reaches into tote bag hanging from his arm. Out of it he pulls a jar of high quality honey. Taking a seat on a bench Lucas places the jar next to him before placing his phone back into his pocket. Using two hands he twists the cap off the jar and places it out for the wandering pokemon.[break][break]

Selena sauntered through the grass park in Slateport City when she noticed a familiar face standing in the crowd, a phone in one hand. It was Lucas Lane . She tried so hard not to be seen, remembering the embarassing moments she shared with him when she tried to help an archaeologist excavate a bunch of anorith fossils on Mt. Pyre.

She shoved herself inside a tent, just in time for the man to walk past her direction. Inside, people were busy getting treated by nurses as she saw, from a distance, a bunch of flower crowns floating above the gardens. Except they were not flower crowns but a pokémon named comfrey, said by her pokénav.

Selena thought she already saw one of those in her stay at Alola when she was seven. She adored the colors of the leis and would always try chasing them. The comfreys whirled and spinned around her as they play, and then if she was lucky, a comfrey would want to get on her head like a floral tiara. Those were the days that Selena missed growing up.

She gently closed the distance from herself to the colony of comfreys that were dancing around the park. The pink-haired maiden positioned herself in the middle of the plot, her arms wide open while facing the sky, as if waiting for one to land on her head--like they used to.

Alexei had come by to pick up his Lucario, who had helped clear out the Night Market of the fallen rubble and debris that dotted the landscape. He was not surprised to see a lot of floating flower crowns… wait a second, they reminded him of one of Florian’s Pokémon… floating around, releasing an overall positive air of goodness through the place.[break][break]

He could only guess why there were so many congregating in the park—it was like a literal bed of living, breathing flowers.[break][break]

Like whoa, how did so many flowers even come to Hoenn from… what region were they from originally, Alexei didn’t know, but he wondered if the weird-haired young man he saw wandering around looking quite suspicious (Jet O'Haire) was familiar with them.[break][break]

Taking out his phone, he then snapped a picture of the strange phenomena and sent it to the blonde-haired man. He knew Florian would get a kick out of this.[break][break]

If anything, forcing on a brave face could was bound to hurt her in the long run, but there always seemed to be something more important than learning to say what scared her.

Such as on her last day in the city, which she’d spent lending her healers to the city’s hospital. Much like the Comfey, the park was her last stop in Slateport, and they had both volunteered their aid to its people. Their kinship wasn’t lost on the girl. That, and the niggling sensation that echoes of the night wandered the city (tainers she barely remembered seeing, Alexei Ivanov included) and she found herself weaker than she’d felt in a good week. Perhaps she could show some of that weakness. Just for a moment.

Annie lowered herself onto one knee in front of the gathering, closed her eyes, and muttered a few words of thanks. It was the closest to prayer that anybody would get out of her, and it barely lasted seconds. If one of the wreaths chose to stay by her side after the display, she’d warm up to idea of having another happy helper in her Camp, and offer it a Pokeball to call home.

He hadn't been at Slateport, but he witnesses the aftermath each time he ventures near the Night Market. Though they've cleared a majority of the rubble, there are gaps in a familiar silhouette where stalls had stood for years. Sometimes, he'll catch a glimpse of a face he's seen on the news. This time it's Annie Mei, kneeling before a group of Comfey in some sort of silent prayer.[break][break]

He watches quietly, curiously.[break][break]

His Alcremie has taught him the usefulness of fairy-types and dedicated support Pokemon on his team, and the Rocket scientist palms an empty capsule before tossing it into the gathered swarm.[break][break]

Adrian has had a vested interest in Slateport ever since the New Year's Ultra Beast incident, perhaps because of a certain e-announcement he'd made earlier that year on the HNN. He's accompanied by his Persian, Miser, when he hears tell of a Comfey swarm in the Slateport Park. Immediately he detours, Miser padding along as they egress.

The park is of course full of trainers, where he can see many folk: A lady of long, black hair who seems to have captivated the attention of a certain unique Comfey. There are others he recognizes from the Aurorus Ball, but knows not by name. A blond male seems to stand out (Cillian Quinn), but then so would Adrian in his choice of attire. Maybe it wasn't so strange for grown men to fawn over cute pokemon... (It was probably still weird...)

It was a wonderful site to behold though, watching as the Comfey offered comfort and solace to those who had up until recently worn somber expressions that would grimace at the mention of the New Year.

Avery had been apart of the rescue team of sorts. She had willingly volunteered herself and several of her Pokemon to help assist and stabilize the injured civilians caught in the crossfire of the attack. While Slateport now lay quiet, the acrid smell of smoke and charred flesh still stings her nose.[break][break]

It comes as a blessing when the Comfrey arrive to lend their aid. They're soft bodies caress the injured and afraid, cleansing them of their sorrow and offering their support and care. She nearly cries at the sight of it, her exhausted body nearly spent just from her dutiful care of these strangers.[break][break]

She's finishing wrapping up the arm of some poor individual's burned hand when a Comfrey passes by. The wild Pokemon's soft fragrance is immediately relieving, and it seems to be on a mission of its own. With a determined stare, it approaches and bumps into Adrian Malcolm, covering the young man in a lei of flowers.[break][break]

Bo's shoulders heaved with a heavy sigh as she and Chansey teetered wearily from one person to another. "You holding in there?" her voice cracked with an unusual fatigue.

A soft, half-mumbled "Chan..sey" was all her partner could muster. The two weaved between patients until avery jones came into sight and the pair made their way towards her.

"Hey," Bo nudged Avery softly with a hand full of new supplies as she took a seat next to her for a short break. "You need any?" She held out the rolls of gauze and mustered a smile.

She followed her friend's gaze and laughed gently at the sight. The Comfey must be a blessing. Their delicate presence brought a moment of calm.

"It's something aint it, Ave?"
