He wondered if Florian had already gone by here today.

Ugh, dying was certainly a most uncomfortable experience. While it felt like exploding to most people, in his case it was like his insides had frozen before imploding into this silent oblivion. Or maybe that was because he was a Mage?

Either way, he was back in the graveyard once more. Cringing slightly as the previous player that had gone ahead before him had exploded into nothingness, he then wondered if continuing to do this was a good idea.

But then again there was the lure, the promise of getting that nice, shiny, yet-unknown reward so…

Maybe that was the driving force for everything all along?

Sighing, he squared his shoulders before bracing himself for the same cold feeling, wrapping his fingers around the hilt and giving it his best yanking attempt.

"I think it's safe to say that I'm a masochist.", Rikiya muttered, as he returned to the sword in the stone. Twice he had died to the trapped Honedge. He had to wonder if the reward was worth all the hype at this point. Considering how much of a monumental pain in the ass it was to retrieve the damn thing, and how people lined up for it, it had to be good.

When it was finally his turn, Rikiya sighed, and attempted to pull at the spectral sword again, fully anticipating another death.

Okay, so the second time didn’t work.

This time, it was getting personal.

Had anyone even succeeded in yanking the sword out of the rock so far? He could tell that it wasn’t working, given the sheer number of people who were flocking to the cemetery and attempting to drag the sword out of the rock and just disappearing shortly after.

They must really be that desperate… he thought as he watched the last person explode into a million pixels before walking up to the rock where the sword was stuck.

“Look, I don’t know why you’re killing everyone, but you have to yield!” he muttered to nobody in particular as he grabbed the hilt and tried to yank the sword out of the rock.

This was starting to get old really fast. Just how many players have thrown themselves at this sword thinking they'd manage to be the one to get it? What even was the benefit in the end anyway? She was a mage, it wasn't as if she'd have a use for a sword even if she got it. And yet... she was still driven to try. If there was a prize for removing it from the stone, she wanted it. Taking a deep breath and sucking up the pain, Ruby reached forwards and wrapped her hands around it and gave it a solid yank once more.

"third time's the charm. third time's the charm." that's what he kept telling himself as he made his way yet again to the sword stuck in the goddamn stone. why was he doing this again? after two times dying to it he would have thought he'd know better. but no, he didn't, he really wanted to do this to prove a point. this time gripping it with both of his hands the tiger flexed his muscles once more before giving it a pull and try to just trip this thing out. even if it snaps in two.
