he snaps out a hand and the klefki comes to a gentle rest in his palm before he returns it to its resting place - his the pocket of his shorts. at least this motherfucker doesn't need a pokeball to be mobile.

"whatever," dominic says. "bitch," he adds as an afterthought.

dominic's gaze slides over the woman's left shoulder and rests on the buffet table behind her. his eyes flutter closed for a moment and when he re-opens them again, he's honing in on the table. "i need another drink," dominic concludes, and side-steps bailey to make his way across the sand.

he stumbles over a rope at one point, swearing under his breath, but he reaches the table and the host of other unattended drinks without further incident.

kyle's hint is enough for noah to realize— but daphne's answer brings the answer to life. as they leap, noah chirps, "oh, no way! small world. well— oh shit!" the venusaur vines whip faster, "should've known!"

eventually, noah is knocked out. the vines smack against his shoes causing him to trip out and into the sands. with a groan, he brushes the sand off his shorts as he watches kyle swing.

"are you sure you wanna get something for him?" noah asks daphne, mirroring her. he squats, knees to his chest. "he's pretty messed, man." but he doesn't say this scoldingly. he fawns over the sight, cheeks in his palms.

"so, what's it like being a sister to a council member?" he breaks briefly to shout, "kyle hurry up and lose already!"

noah faber was quick to trip over and into the sand as well, which put a small smile on her face-- gods, she felt a bit bad for doing that. still, it was amusing watching some people fall, though one man in particular didn't seem all too happy about it, and went over to the bar. there was a bit of concern, that she tucked to the back of her head.

the greenette glances up to noah, who sat himself down next to her and mimicked her position. she giggles, turning her gaze back to kyle who seemed to be having a blast jumping on his own. even looking at noah gaze out was endearing enough: it was clear enough to her that they loved eachother. it was clear enough to her, and it was enough to warm her heart.

"mmn.. that's true. i still do intend to grab myself a drink, so tell me what you'd like and i'll grab it for you." she tilts her head with that same smile, turning her attention back to the rustboro gymleader. onto the topic of her brother, she only giggles nervously while rubbing the back of her neck. "hectic.." she starts, pausing when noah calls out to kyle lopez. "hectic is one way to put it. he's usually busy with his work, which is understandable. he did try to convince me to come out for today, though~" and frankly, she was glad that he did.

ah.. she didn't want to get in the way of these two, who seemed to clearly enjoy their date. with that, daphne stands up and brushes the sand off her legs. "i'll be right back, then. what kind of drink would you like?" she listens and, when give his choice, she takes off over to the stand.

she reaches on over, finding the same man who stumbled over the rope. poor thing looked to be in a sour mood, which wasn't good, considering that today was supposed to be a cheerful one. she thought twice about approaching dominic sinclair, but.. the insistent nagging of her brother in the back of her head said otherwise. she was trying to get out of her shell. she arrives at the bar stand, leaning forwards a slight bit while besides him. "erm.. hello." she raises her voice, offering a small smile when she's grabbed his attention. she points to the drinks laid out in front of them, tilting her head quizzically.

"is there any particular drink you'd recommend? i'm not exactly.. knowledgeable with this."

Fresh off of his victory at limbo, Oscar picked himself up a victory Float. As he was preparing to walk back to his sand fortress, the next event began. "Oh shit already?" 

Ah fuck it's jumprope! Oscar chugged his drink and rushed forward to partake. He did well in the last two events, so now he's participating out of a greed for victory rather than a fear of missing out. He took his place and began jumping, and boy were these some quality jumps! Wowza if you could only see these hops of his, ace quality.

Hopefully he doesn't fuck up and trip at the last second, that'd make him look so fucking stupid.

idle and unthinking, dominic is arranging his host of drinks when he hears someone approach and address him. he stills for a moment and turns to face the stranger slowly, expression already set into a glare because he’s half-expecting it to be the woman he’d scared away from marcel earlier.

it’s not her because apparently good things do happen to him sometimes. dominic takes in her features carefully - his eyes flicker from her face and down, then back again in a practiced appraising glance. it’s not quite subtle enough and dominic makes no attempt to hide the approving smile curling the corners of his lips.

she’s familiar but he can’t place the face. doesn’t matter - she’s pretty and that’s enough, really.

"drink?" dominic echoes. he inclines his head sideways to the row of glasses in front of him. he drops his voice when he speaks again, teasing. "what, just the one?"

dominic doesn’t wait for an answer when he winks, takes one of the glasses and throws his head back to down the contents in one fluid gesture.

"recommendations, huh? depends. how well can you hold your drink?"
