WAR OF THE WORLDS RAID
SETTING: LATE SEPTEMBER
THIRD DAY OF THE WAR
ELECTRICITY
AS THE POKEMON ARE SURROUNDED by the residual electricity left by the Xurkitree’s bolts, their trainers attempt to neutralize the staticky fields. Around each affected Pokemon, a circular field of electricity crackles like a popcorn pot about to pop its lid off. Each spark is painful and lashes out like a solar flare.[break][break][break]
Rex Drago and
Bailey Cooper attempt to recall their Haxorus and Kommo-o. However, as they attempt to bring their Pokemon within their balls, the electrical field suddenly explodes. Electricity disperses from their bodies, shocking anything near. Thankfully,
Rex Drago is far enough to avoid the aftermath. The dragon is recalled, but unconscious. Kommo-o is recalled— but it too, faints. As the electrical field expands from Kommo-o’s body, it strikes her Aggron and Steelix, causing Steelix to faint as well.[break][break][break]
Kaine Ikari's Venemoth explodes with electricity. It faints immediately, and the resulting electrical surge
PARALYZES Kaine Ikari and his Pokemon.[break][break][break]
Thankfully,
Balder Schwartz’s attempt to clear his Camerupt’s electrical field is more successful. The Duraludon is shocked, but the purposeful intent of using the dragon as a lightning rod works. Perhaps, the Duraludon may have fainted, but his Zeraora is able to absorb enough of the electricity before that can happen. Similarly,
gigi bae’s Venusaur manages to be rescued by her Vikavolt’s ability to
CHARGE from it.[break][break][break]

Raziel Beckett’s Zeraora leaps to his Gallade’s rescue. Using its fists, it channels the electricity into its paws, siphoning the Xurkitree’s electricity for its own. Both
Balder Schwartz and
Raziel Beckett’s Zeraora seem superbly charged and in a similar fashion,
kyle lopez’s Mega Manectric, able to push beyond its limitations, is electrified with power. Still, some electricity disperses from their bodies— but anyone or any Pokemon nearby would have their hairs and fabrics raise from the static rather than suffer any real injury.[break][break][break]
ZIPTIES
CELEBI'S AVATAR IS REUNITED WITH HER WATCHOG. The Watchhog alerts
cait alfric to the incoming electrical surge from
Bailey Cooper's Kommo-o, allowing her enough time to find safety after she grants the fallen Druddigon its rites. She summoners her Magmar, and as her Braviary strikes the bundle of black cords, flames melt the rubber back to expose more wiring.
gigi bae's Rotom flickers around the wires.
HEX slams into the fraying cords, causing them to melt away with an ominous howl.[break][break][break]
Above,
Adrian Malcolm's Alakazam manages to
TELEPORT on to Xurkitree's arm. This high, Mauville is a small square. A potent
FUTURE SIGHT slams into one of the zipties, and with its knives (no spoons!), it begins to tear into the white bands. Below, its trainer rushes forth, sewaddled in the muscular hair of his Grimmsnarl.
BARRIERS smash through Megalopolan troops as they charge.[break][break][break]

Rex Drago's Aerodactyl showers the Xurkitree with
ANCIENT POWER. Boulders slam and roll down the legs, bruising a ziptie on its leg. Similarly,
Moana Reyes's Pokemon join together to target the left leg's ziptie as well.
ROCK BLASTS join
Rex Drago's famous, beautiful Aerodactyl, and as the ziptie is weakened, the soon-to-be Elite Four member,
Thomas Benoit launches his attack. While his other Pokemon provide him with cover,
Thomas Benoit's Hydreigon unleashes its
Z-MOVE: DRACONIAN WRATH. His dragon reels all three of its heads, and after a massive ball of dark energy manifests in their maws, it launches a massive beam toward the left leg's ziptie. At its tip, the energies converge to form into a terrifying Hydreigon head, its jaws stretching wide before slamming into the ziptie. It tears the band in half.[break][break][break]
After witnessing his
marcel maeda-substitute be torn to shreds, he recalls his Silvally. The red bolt siphons the creature in as it zips back toward him and his allies on
dominic sinclair's flying Steelix. As
marcel maeda's Clefable expels a pillar of
FLAMETHROWER toward the Xurkitree, a
LIGHT SCREEN erects itself with a glimmer to protect them.[break][break][break]
Nearby,
Bailey Cooper's Groudon marches. As
dominic sinclair's Alcremie brightens the battlefield with a
DAZZLING GLEAM, an
AIR SLASH joins with it to strike a ziptie on its right arm. Her Darkrai channels a powerful
DARK PULSE which explodes upon impact, granting
circe crowley's Absol enough time to mega evolve.[break][break][break]

As the Absol leaps in its new form, its horn
PSYCHO CUTS the ziptie in half. The white band falls around its limb as her Dragapult and Gengar shift into the shadows. When
dominic sinclair's Steelix chomps happily on a Shiinotic's
POLLEN PUFF, its trainer would witness
Andy Blackadder approaching the generals by Yanmega.[break][break][break]
THE GENERALS
The young child's Gengar appears for a
HYPNOSIS, but Philomera's Naganadel swoops forth in the air to provide a swift
PROTECT. She scoffs, distracted by the Yanmega's
AIR SLASH.
“YOUR PEOPLE SEND THEIR YOUNG TO WAR? AT FIRST, I FELT PITY FOR YOU ALL, BUT NOW, I REALIZE YOU ALL DESERVE POISON.”[break][break][break]
With Jules in her arms, she sets him on her Naganadel. However,
circe crowley's Dragapult and Gengar reappear. As a
PSYCHIC strikes them thanks to
Andy Blackadder's distraction, there is a window of opportunity. Talia Bosch soars in on her Tropius. Close to the generals, her Tropius beats its wings to deliver a
LEAF TORNADO.[break][break][break]
WEAKENING THE XURKITREE
[break][break][break]
Balder Schwartz's Duraludon digs its heels in. Leaning forth, it fires a blinding
FLASH CANNON at the exposed copper prongs underneath the Xurkitree's foot. Simultaneously,
Rex Drago's Armaldo drops on to the battlefield like a tank. From its maw, it shoots a powerful
BRINE at the same foot— and as their attacks merge, the impact rocks the Xurkitree with an immense explosion. Thanks to their efforts, the Ultra Beast begins to topple back. Its limbs flail as it loses balances, causing Fortree Rangers to evade in the air on their Tropius.[break][break][break]
Airborne,
Samuel Boothe's Salamence mega evolves. The dragon roars as it assumes its new form. A
DRACO METEOR pummels into the Xurkitree's limbs, tearing into zipties and wiring alike. As the bands fall, the empowered attack causes the wiring of the Xurkitree to loosen and spread apart like loosening spaghetti noodles.[break][break][break]
Bailey Cooper's Groudon's
SOLAR BEAM rips through the air. For everyone on the field, it launches the biggest
SOLAR BEAM anyone else has seen. Multiple explosions rock up the right side of the Xurkitree, and as the beam passes the torn ziptree on the right leg, it blows it away. However, it is able to singlehandedly tear off its right arm's ziptie. Where the
SOLAR BEAM has landed, the wires begin to loosen.[break][break][break]

kyle lopez's Legendary Beasts conjoin with their respective elemental attacks: a storm of violence tears into the Ultra Beast as his Smeargle protects its trainer with a barrier of stone. They dart around, their agile canine bodies able to navigate the battlefield with ease. Their ancient lineage recalls battles of yore; however, they're joined by a new ally,

FLAMETHROWING Mega Manectric. The Xurkitree tips back. As
kyle lopez's Cosmoem opens an
PORTAL above Xurkitree, his Silvally leaps through. Its body flares with energy, and as it slams into the weakening Xurkitree, a violent blast rocks the Ultra Beast in a ball of expanding flame and smoke.[break][break][break]

The Silvally, as noticed by their owners many times before, seem to know how to combat the Ultra Beasts. As Jules watches in disbelief at what he has seen, he is smothered by leaves. He raises his fist before they're assaulted by
Remiel Calcifet's Pokemon.
Philomera feels her jetback implode, and as she plummets, Jules darts after her with his Naganadel-ride. Talia follows after them— and dominic sinclair tracks the Generals and her location despite the carnage. Nearby, remaining Megalopolan troops fly forth to protect their general on Naganadel.[break][break][break]
Glowing brilliantly blue,
Remiel Calcifet's Zekrom
RISING VOLTAGE from the earth. The black dragon roars and whips of electricity flare as its
TERAVOLT empowers its thunderous assault. Unfortunately, it can not reap the benefits of the electric terrain on the ground. Electricity surges upward, striking the Ultra Beast as it begins to fall apart. With no zipties, the Xurkitree unravels dramatically. A mass of cords fall on to the earth with a terrible clamor and spread across the battlefield like long roads or black earthworms.
Balder Schwartz and
Rex Drago have destroyed the copper prongs of one of its feet; however, the other foot remains planted on to the ground. Despite the Xurkitree's limp noodle-like state,
it is "plugged" in to the ground. Its foot remains, like a large tower that sparks while it is charging. Similarly, further to the north, its
tail is plugged in too.[break][break][break]

Despite the Zekrom's
TERAVOLT, the Xurkitree's body seems to channel the Zekrom's electricity. Shackles of yellow sparks travel from all around the fallen Xurkitree's cords and navigate to the foot. Continually, electricity pulses there, and the cords begin to move again...[break][break][break]
POWER PLANT
WITHIN THE POWER PLANT, Lucas Lane confronts
Cillian Quinn and
Katherine Fairburne. The Head Scientist's Machamp attempts to grapple
Cillian Quinn— and instead,
LOCKS UP with
Cillian Quinn's Lucario and pushes it toward the ground with its immense strength.[break][break][break]
In the meantime,
Cillian Quinn's Lycanroc manages to be summoned. Flames engulf the dog's claws as they melt his ice. However, he's still obstructed by
Lucas Lane.
Katherine Fairburne's aggressive Dusknoir attempts to strike at
Lucas Lane. Although his Aegislash attempts to protect him, the
SHADOW SNEAK allows the creature bypass the Pokemon to rip the fabric of his shirt— and leave a decent wound across his chest.[break][break][break]

Katherine Fairburne's Reuniclus manages to prevent the Dusknoir from attacking any further, while
Lucas Lane's Ditto
TRANSFORMS to protect its owner from any other harm. While
Katherine Fairburne attempts to reason with
Lucas Lane, her Sableye's
WILL-O-WISP melts her ice.[break][break][break]
As
Lucas Lane's Shiftry is sent toward
Katherine Fairburne, she has a moment to attack.[break][break][break]
However, the earth above shakes dramatically. A quake follows another, and continual aftershocks rock the lower floor of the power plant. They would be feeling the effects of the Xurkitree's cords slamming into the earth from high heights over and over as it unravels.[break][break][break]
After a moment, they hear a nearby wall surge with electricity.
An exposed segment reveals a single black cord surging with power— for they are able to see that the Xurkitree has one cord connected to the plant itself.[break][break][break]

Samuel and his Salamence followed the action between Groudon and Xurkitree, moving around to position themselves just behind enough so that they wouldn't be in the way but where they could also still see what was going on beyond them.
