"shit," noah mutters through the acrid taste lining his gums. he spits onto the white stone of sootopolis and against its pure hue, sees small eddies of blood.

he's thankful for and 's interference. with his pokeballs secured, he struggles to find his bouffalant who has careened off the edge. nearby, his machamp sleeps.

the shift of gravity churns his gut. overwhelmed by the sudden vertigo, noah presses close to rowan, head close to the chest as if that were anchor enough. with his hands tied, he knows no other option.

and as the world nearby darkens from darkrai's Z-MOVE influence, noah quickly mutters again: "sorry."

violently, he jerks his head back and attempts to HEADBUTT in the mask.

"cobra! mega evolve!" noah shouts hoarsely. his megastone ring glows bright in the all-consuming darkness. hoping his voice would carry through 's nocturne-dark, he orders: "protect them! i'll try to regroup after!"

as the machamp relieves itself of his status conditions— noah dares to leap blind from the first level to the level below. sneakers push against the earth unless he is stopped. however, his machamp hesitates, still seeing an image of its dead owner before committing to a G-MAX CHI STRIKE at the group of ROCKETS.

A horrible aural assault causes Gavin to flinch back and instinctively cover his ears as the combination of their foes' moves rattles across the urban battlefield. Through the flimsy barrier provided by his hands, he hears Lugia's furious shriek as PARALYSIS seizes its limbs. Though Gavin doesn't see it, Delphox falters as well.

He looks up to see a Bouffalant charging before their sister intercepts with Darkrai's assistance. Bless you, Saoirse.

Then his world turns upside down. Literally.

Panic grips him as his stomach swoops in anticipation of a fall that never comes. His feet remain on the ground. It's dizzying, disorienting, but there's little time to dwell on this new development before they're plunged into unnatural darkness.

's voice forces his focus, and Gavin's fingers curl around another pokeball.

"Aerodactyl, track him."

The prehistoric DARK PREDATOR is adept at doing just that. It would attempt to lock onto and use its AGILITY to keep pace as it plunges after him in the dark. Its PRESSURE joins with that of the shadowed Lugia.

That darkness prevents him from seeing the g-max move before it impacts.

Somewhere next to him, Gavin hears Lugia shriek once more. The sound is every bit as hair-raising as the paralytic rattling had been, the fury of an angered legend condensed into horrific sound. He feels a tremendous gale from its wings as it flaps them, hard, looking to SHED the clinging SHADOWS with its corrupt force.

Delphox strikes back against Machamp with a gout of SHADOW FIRE from its black crystal wand, hoping to perhaps pierce the darkness if Lugia could not.

SHADOW LUGIA and SHADOW DELPHOX are PARALYZED. SHADOW EELEKTROSS is immune.
Gavin is disoriented by all of the loud sounds + the world flipping upside down, momentarily loses track of what's going on with their prisoner until 's call out alerts him to the escape attempt.
SHADOW AERODACTYL is released. Gavin orders it to use its ability, DARK PREDATOR, to track . (Aerodactyl may pick a single target to hunt. It will be able to track, chase, and deal more damage to its prey, but takes additional damage from all other sources.)
SHADOW AERODACTYL uses its AGILITY to hopefully keep up with .
SHADOW LUGIA uses its SHADOW SHED in an attempt to clear up the darkness.
SHADOW DELPHOX uses SHADOW FIRE on 's MACHAMP. (It's just shadow flamethrower with the 10% burn chance.)

No plan survived contact with the enemy, but this was just ridiculous. One second, he was giving out his orders, the next he was yanked into a bloody shadows and dumped in...

He had no clue- all he knew was that he was falling.

"AAAaaah-! Ah? Noah?!" The youth found himself screaming mid-scream, his body slapping onto his mentor's own as he appeared out of nowhere, his arms automatically wrapping around him. "What the- What did they do to you?!"

Last he had seen , he had been surrounded... and now he was practically fried. Some quick healing measures had been made, but- those goddamn animals!

Doug's gaze narrowed as he saw a bizarre looking Aerodactyl barreling after Noah. Had it been the one that did this? Did it belong to the one who did this?

Feeling the metal flowing under his sleeve, he realized he was not alone just yet.

"Slime!" He snapped, his pokemon quickly flowing to his grip in the form of a gun, which the youth pointed at the Aerodactyl. "SCREW YOU!"

A blast of Flash Cannon rang as the youth and his Meltan shot at the Aerodactyl's face.

The shot launched them from the force, and Doug was quick to attempt to drag Noah with him to the bizarre waterfall- he needed to get Noah away from these psychos- and get back to his team!



His trainer had disappeared.

For the first time since arriving, Garo the Orbeetle was thrown for a loop. He was quick to track the youth, but he was far away. Not so far away he couldn't reach out to him telepathically, however.

Communicating with its companion, the pokemon utilized psychic to seize the Escavalier, and attempted to move nearer to the waterfall to regroup with its trainer.

The Escavalier harrumphed, reluctant to part from its battle but complying all the same. Its trainer's safety was more important; it prepared to guard against enemy attacks as the Orbeetle pulled them away.

The blade bounces off.

The world flips.

Chu-e should be more worried about these things, but instead he stalls out in the middle of the fight.

A standing target, cradling his stomach.

"I.... I'm starving." Muttered, barely audible, into the comms.

Lopunny isn't one to take attacks laying down. She tries to use 's kick to her benefit; maybe slung to the side while raising her fist to try and beat the Golurks's attack with her own Sky Uppercut. Her Mega form's Scrappy will nullify any resistance to Ghost the pokemon has.

The Delcatty takes the Aura Sphere like a champ. Thanks to her Destabilize, her Fairy Typing means the move is less effective. She fires back a Tri Attack, her specialized move.

Finally, G!Weezing floats listlessly. He knows his training; his eyes hone in on the Celesteela, a force trying to link them with a Destiny Bond.

Chu-e, after his pause, it's down yet. He practically roars before charging at again, hands empty. He just needed to touch and he would feel so much better...

- Lopunny tries to use the kick her advantage, uses Sky Uppercut on Golurk
- Delcatty is Fairy type for now. Uses Ti Attack on Lucario.

gets recognized by the entei as he had expected, and lets him and pass. it returns to guarding the entrance of cave of origins with stone edge to dissuade any trespassers from entering the site of interest.

when they enter, kyle stares at them, wondering what they were doing in the cave of origins. then the love scene between and happens and kyle shoots a look at to shrug, unsure of what to do in his awkward position.

"that's a dangerous pokemon. you sure you guys want to wake it up?" he says, breaking the seriousness of the shoujo moment.

kyle grasps the pokeball of his smeargle, with another patting his solgaleo by its side. he honestly wants to go out and join the fray, but he knows there's no stopping this event and him being there as some sort of backup to minimize initial damage done by the kyogre would probably be the best choice.

Kaida notes with glee that Ormr's attack struck true, rattling her opponents thoroughly...only to then be rattled in turn as a woman and her partner appeared ( ). It talked, said partner, and Kaida only managed a confused retort, "But I can't sleep to have a nightmare here..." Her words cut off as the darkness roared towards her, and only one thing mattered in those seconds. Protect those she cared about. Hoping Lars would stay near, she returned Ormr (the Ekans hissing in protest), and released Nid.

She hugged the dragon serpent near, not even certain if they'd live here, but relaxing slightly as a Safeguard surrounded them...she did all she could. And a nightmare of smallness and the mysterious R charged closer...

Near , Vani felt movement as the human jumped blindly, following by a much scarier, bigger presence...Kaida would want her to keep the boy from being slaughtered, right? Equally blind, the dragon screamed madly and plunged after the rocky dinosaur ( 's Aerodactl) unaware of the Aura Sphere coming her way, full of Outrage. If one couldn't tell, the dragon was having the time of her life.

Even as the dark nightmare came their way, Kaida's Yamega arrived loyally as ever. Orvar buzzed towards Kaida and stopped cold as darkness blocked her sight. Frustration built surprisingly quickly for the emotionless seeming bug and she screamed an Uproar where she last remembered the enemies were. As if the place wasn't loud enough...

Yamega regroups near Kaida nd uses Uproar at the Rockets (Uproar wakes any sleeping Pokemon and prevents sleep when active). She scared.

The sound was loud—too loud, in fact.

Lars flinched yet stood his ground as the combined sounds shook the area in a cacophony of noise. While he was hoping to pull the fallen person towards where they were, instead a bunch of Pokéballs come flying his way—

One, two, three, four.

But where were the rest?

Lars hissed as he grabbed the four Pokéballs and crammed them into the sling bag he wore. Just as he was about to direct Ro to apply another Telekinetic blast, a sudden spreading of darkness came crashing down on the area.

He wanted to move, but he was stuck—it was dark, dark, very dark—shit, how could he see through it?

There was a loud scream in the back of his mind as the deity was hit with the Electric-type attack; and he knew that this was the time. He almost buckled under the weight of the deity’s outburst in his head, however he leaned against the silver Metagross for support.

‘Fly lower. Don’t come too close to the ground, I need your help!’

Hoping that Kaida would stay well away from the area, he turned to the approximate direction where she was and remembered he had the ear piece in.

“I can’t see you. Don’t move too suddenly—I’m going to try something.”

Once the deity had flown down as low as they would dare, all it took was a singular punch. That was the signal for the Winged Mirage to gather up the power welling within—they weren’t going to go down and be cowed by that Zap Cannon!

‘Now!’

The creeping cold began to spread around the point of impact; near where he last estimated to have seen the bent, the other legendary that had dark feathers—the temperature dropping with each passing second.

It was, in a sense, the End of the World.

“Amir, defend us—Gareth, get ready. Ro? Get ready too.”

To Silvally: a Protective screen. To the Gallade, a Swords Dance. To the Metagross, another Telekinetic burst to catch whatever else would be thrown their way.

He was going to stand his ground—even if the world felt like everything had been upended and he was slightly dizzy, borderline nauseous. But he held his ground.

And that was—before he thought he began seeing (and hearing) things calling out to him from the dark.


• Lars secures ’s Pokéballs and keeps them on his person for safekeeping
• He can’t see Kaida (or anyone else) nearby; however he knows his Pokémon are standing in a defensive circle around him
• The Articuno, battered but still standing, flies down at the spreading darkness
• Lars used Articuno’s Z-move: the End of the World!
• Silvally used Protect; Gallade used Swords Dance to get ready; Ro refreshed Telekinesis
• Magnet Rise is active (4 / 5)
• Salac used: 1 because TF IS THAT SHIT?!

Bryan liked  his little jingle but he wasn't gonna wait around for it to finish and find out what was at the end of it. Grimmsnarl slid in front of the cannon and mega evolved as bryan tapped his keystone earring. [break][break]

Grimmsnarl's hair armor grew over his body and continued to grow even larger than normal as bryan was cranking out it's new z move he learned. "Z-move: Memento Mori" he called out as Grimmsnarl's already long hair over it's hands unfurled and lashed out extremely fast and quickly towards 's team, they three of them were all bunched so he tried to plug the cannon with the hair to trap the falink's inside and also tried to wrap lucario against the golurk since they were all in close proximity. [break][break]

if successful, Grimmsnarl would begin to suck the energy out of them and attach himself with his other limb of hair to Kommo-o to give him the health that was drained from the opposing team.[break][break]

Kommo-o managed to protect Audino from the aura sphere but the shadow Pokémon was flinched afterwards suddenly, preventing it from moving for a few moments. Growing irritated from repeated attacks on it, it let out a ferocious roar as it was in a pinch and tried to cast INGRAIN if successful, planting itself into the floor and absorbing life force from the plant life in the area, killing it in the process. [break][break]

Lastly Audino was left and Bryan called her to him as Celsteela stood in their way,  he had no idea but he knew was going to continue to be an issue if he kept that...THING out on the field. "Audino! Thunderbolt!" he ordered as Audino put her hands together and rubbed them quickly, sending a blast of electricity out trying to shock the Celesteela. If he couldn't get in to the building he needed to at least keep it open for Killian to get out. Who knows what was doing inside with Killian.

    Rowan’s head was bucked backwards as the Gym Leader collided into his nose with their forehead, stumbling away from them. “Son of a bitch.” Blood trickled down his face and soaked through the mask, though he wouldn’t remove the visage as long as there was a chance of his identity being discovered. “Alright, we’re playing like that, huh?” Rowan adjusted the Key Stone on his wrist, flashing the device towards Swampert to issue the command for transformation.

    Atlas swelled and grew into the more powerful form, becoming a hulking behemoth before the eyes of friend and foe alike. “Go after the Machamp.” The Swampert surged forward towards Cobra, pounding across the pavement until the gap between them had been closed. A pissing contest if you’d ever seen one, the Pokémon raised both fists into the air before slamming them onto the ground, shaking the foundation of the area with a mighty Earthquake.

    Slowbro was quick to act in the interest of their trainer, using Psychic to lift Rowan into the air momentarily to avoid being harmed by the shockwave. Ora however wasn’t about to back away from the fight, Poliwrath turned towards the source of the debilitating rattle, but not particularly interested in the Pokémon itself. Hydro Pump surged forward from the mouth of the Poliwrath, looking to strike directly with the stream.

"Son of a bitch," Serena grumbles to herself. She knew this wasn't going to be easy but Katherine was too quick to counter their moves. Just a little glimpse of hope, that's all she wanted for once. Her blue orbs narrowed as she watched the copied bomb explode in the air. Something suspicious was going on here, since it seemed some force was pushing and pulling things at will towards or away from her. [break][break]

Serena's frown deepened, she didn't have the time to work through theories at the current moment. Cas' assurance doesn't do enough damage as she hoped it would due to the DARK SCREEN and Serena signals for him to pull back a bit. Serenity being hit with HEAL BLOCK was the last straw. "Oh fuck off." she grumbled.[break][break]

That's when GIRATINA arrives and Serena falters for a second. Involuntarily she takes a step back as she stares face to face with the Legendary. "For fucks sake..." she muttered. An avatar too? That explained the gravitational influences. This was exactly why avatars creeped her out. Freaks of nature, every last one of them. [break][break]

Mortals with access to power that tips the scales of balance out of order. She watched in horror as GIRATINA prepared DRAGON BREATH. "Get down!" she ordered her pokémon as she hit the ground just as the blast went out to them. Serena's shriek was loud enough for the whole world to hear she was sure. [break][break]

A familiar feeling of numbing tingles sparked across her body as she and her pokémon, especially since they had encounter a similar feeling from that fucking Silph in Fortree. Unfortunately with that HEAL BLOCK on Serenity there was little she could do. Groaning she grabbed a pokeball from he belt and swapped out Serenity for Gwen. [break][break]

Assessing the situation Gwen was quick to become furious seeing her allies hurt like this. Without command she launched a DRAGON PULSE at Katherine and GIRATINA while Junior followed up with a DAZZLING GLEAM. Locke caught the scenery changing once again out of the corner of their eye but pointedly ignored whatever chaos the city was descending into behind them as Tini-Tini raced them towards the cave. Touching down on the cliffside, however, their stomach dropped as they saw smooth stone where an entrance had been earlier.

Well, the cliff seemed equally unaffected by whatever spatial salad toss was happening right now. Maybe he’d be safe enough right here?

A quick glance around the upside-down streets above him and the intense battles occurring within them told him he was most certainly not.

“Alright De-De, get us in!” With a trill the Delibird hopped from his arms as he descended from Tini-Tini’s back. She fished around inside her tail for a moment before producing a ticking giftbox, before lobbing the explosive Present at the stone wall covering the entrance.

his heart lurches as the world is spun on it's head again, giving jayden a particular sense of nausea and confusion that he has to take a brief moment to get used to. his attention locks onto the sight of disappearing successfully into the portal, which allows the rocket to turn his attention to the other things going around him.

    Restless like a wolf in the night, Katherine’s eyes dart from one figure onto the other - passing judgment and processing information as fast as possible. Which move is headed which way, who is targeting who - but most importantly?

    Where their defenses are lacking.

    Where she can exploit a weakness.

    And one, eventually, is found.

    “Poison them, Nihilego. Disarm the Salazzle, Osiris.”

    Plain and simple. The Ultra Beast unleashes yet another SLUDGE WAVE, spewing forth its special toxin with full intent on poisoning any of its victims. Cofagrigus, on the other hand, shoots a DARK PULSE only to counter the Salazzle’s DRAGON PULSE.

    Without so much of a warning, Katherine vanishes. She flickers out of sight akin to an evaporated shadow, light casting her away. She reappears on Giratina’s back - mounting the Legendary. Together, they are whisked by a SHADOW FORCE. Both Arceus’ treacherous son and Katherine disappear out of sight only to reappear behind their target.

    In the midst of the fervent battle, she had left herself open. No PROTECT can cover up that mistake now. The two, both the Renegade and the Malevolent, intend to capture the woman before her Pokemon are able to retaliate.

    Held by the teeth of god, it is only Katherine’s will that prevents Giratina from closing its maw and ending the Rocket’s life.

    Selena's communicator device is fetched and carried to Katherine with a gesture of her hand, manipulating gravity to make use of the radio earpiece.

    “TEAM ROCKET— No, I'll be direct. . This will be the last time I repeat the conditions of your full surrender.”

    “Give up. Release now.”

    “... Or else, say goodbye to whoever this agent is.”


    Her threat remains unspoken, but judging by the sight of Selena trapped inside Giratina’s mouth? It’s an obvious one.

    Giratina soars high into the skies afterward, claiming them as its domain. Its piercing, scarlet gaze is cast upon those standing on the ground. Once more, it roars, this time in an effort to demand an answer for its Avatar.

    Will Rocket comply and accept the terms made by their defector?

    Will Rocket bend to the whims of a Goddess?

    Will sacrifice 's sister?

    tl;dr:

    The punch missed the knife-holder, whilst a Grimmsnarl's punch was able to strike the invisible shield created by Shieldon, pushing the fossil and its owner a bit. Enough of an opening for someone to slip into the spire. Damn it. And now the damage was being piled on the rest of the team.[break][break]

    Time to go a level even further beyond then. Seeing all the attacks going for Stella, the man unhooked the shieldon from his arms. "Tate, help her!" Thus, the man threw the fossil like a ball towards the Celesteela, allowing it to latch onto the steel structure. From there, the creature proceeded to extend a shadow Protective barrier all around the creature, to protect it from all incoming attacks.[break][break]

    Once the attacks passed, the carnage began. Celesteela engaged the Steel Roller protocol, clearing the extended Misty Terrain created by the Weezing's special move. Balder proceeded to recall his Togekiss right away, hoping to spare it any upcoming damage. Once the field was completely cleared, the Celesteela unleashed the Steel Roller attack at Bryan's Kommo-O.[break][break]

    "Emerge, Merlin! Stop this creature's madness." A flash of light allowed for an Alakazam to appear. An abnormal Alakazam though, as its left leg was a massive crystal spike and multiple smaller crystals covering the right side of its face. The creature grunted slowly, before using its 'Shadow' Disable to try and stop the Z-Move from Grimmsnarl.[break][break]

    "Now... You got my attention, Beast." The knife guy was now growling and trying to reach him. But a surprise awaited. "Give me a boost... Leo." As he whispered these words, the light covering his arms, legs and hair intensified. Slowly at first, but then enveloping his whole body. The light expanded, taking a form akin to Solgaleo. And within it, Balder. The Light-shaped Lion advanced towards , ready to unleash its fangs in the form of a Fiery punch of light to BURN the beast's face off.

    Well that almost went as planned.

    As a dragon tamer, Oscar has had more than his fair share of Dragon Breath. Feels a lot like a normal burn if you were covered in paper cuts and dunked your arm in lemon juice before hand. As the oversized worm blew its load, Oscar knew he would be in for a bad few seconds.

    He turned away, letting his cape catch on fire. Naturally it burned through as if it were made of paper, and as Oscar tore the cape off his hood he found that the fire had reached parts of his back and burned through his costume. Oscar cried out in pain, dropping to the ground and rolling to put out any stray dragon fire. Fuck that was gonna hurt in the morning--and all week. But he had to fight through it, he couldn't let the pain bring him down. Not when there was still a battle to fight.

    When Oscar felt firmly not-on-fire, and as he slowly got to his feet the sounds of pokemon crying out suddenly caught his attention. All three of his pokemon were suffering beneath the blue fire's power, and if he didn't do something quick they'd take on too much damage to be of further use to him. Oscar hastily grabbed the pokeball of each, withdrawing them before things could get out of control. 

    He replaced the balls on his belt and pulled out three others one at a time. The first two he opened immediately as Katherine teleported to Serena. Oscar heard her threat, both within his headset and well--right next to him. He sure wasn't gonna let her get away with that, not while Adrian was watching. 

    A sandstorm began to kick up, growing in intensity as one of Oscar's newly revealed pokemon stomped to his side. Hatred the Tyranitar roared, his Sand Stream summoning a localized sandstorm in their area. Oscar pointed to giratina, "Get that fat fuck out of the sky." The order was not for Hatred. A shape ran by Oscar, hidden by his natural Sand Veil. Using the sandstorm as cover, he would run beneath the godly dragon before launching toward it. Mustakrakish, king of all garchomp, hissed as he came upon the god. His aim was to slam into it, hopefully with enough force to take its attention off whatever crazy thing Rocket would do to save Serena (Dragon Rush).

    Then came Oscar's final pokemon, hidden within a unique red ball. Oscar sighed as he pointed it forward, hoping that it was ready for battle. The contents was released, its tall purple form shining within the sandstorm. Bright red eyes looked forward, sliding briefly across its immediate surroundings before turning toward Oscar. Oscar pointed to the pokemon Katherine had left behind to perform her stunt.

    "Genesect, Analyze." 

    Genesect began to whir, scanning its surroundings for targets. There was luckily no shortage, it found four tainted beings in need of extermination. Nihilego, the shadow cofarigus, the shadow meowstic--the shadow mime jr. Genesect's programing was clear, they must all be destroyed. It set Nihilego as priority one, for its filth was the most egregious. It aimed its cannon in its direction, and after a brief flash of charged energy it would unleash a massive blast of swirling color and fantastic power (Techno Blast). Oscar smiled as the horrid attack shook the ground, he was glad it was aimed at his enemies and not at him for once.

    tl;dr
    --Oscar lost his cape to the Dragon Breath and is covered in boo boos.
    --Oscar withdrew Nidoqueen, Dodrio, and Naganadel. Replacing them with Garchomp, Tyranitar, and Genesect.
