His luck's bound to run out. He tells himself this as he gets back on the Mantine for another go, but Gavin can't help the butterflies of adrenaline that flutter in his gut, drowning out the fear. If he closes his eyes, he can almost pretend he's back in Circhester snowboarding down the slopes.

But he kind of needs to see what's going on, so he keeps them open and balances on the Mantine's back.

it shouldn't really be a question on how many times kyle is willing to do it, but how many times does he need to try in order to perfect the move.

he gets on the mantine again after the last try. another magikarp splash shouldn't be too hard given that a lot of people have already done it. he's not special, but it shouldn't be a too difficult of a trick if there's more than three people that have already achieved such feat.

with another try, he attempts the trick.

he doesn't actually go outside much, contrary to his build. he felt like he was going to be humiliated by the first try, but given that he was pushed into this and agreed, he can't fault anyone but himself for trying.

he gets on the mantine. it feels different from any other flying-type he had ridden on, and to think he has to balance himself on top of it without any traction already has him thinking he won't be able to do it.

still, there was no choice but to try the second hardest trick, and that he does.

the last one doesn't count since he was just warming up. you can't call exercises actual attempts since they're really just that.

this time, he's serious. he never fails on anything, and every "fail" he got was just him messing around or simply testing the waters. he still hasn't synergizes with his mantine, and only then will it actually count.

he goes into the water on the mantine, ready for a go.

Frustrated, tired, and mad as hell, the fiery teenager got up on the Mantine to try again! He was being stubborn. Which was both a good and bad thing, but he was going to do it even if it was the last trick he'd pull off before time ends! With a determined look on his face, he picked up speed, then went up in the air, doing a back flip, right roll, then a front flip, launching into the air. Landing in front of the Mantine, he got tackled by complet accident by the Pokemon.
