This time, Luka goes careening into the water like a ragdoll. Water goes up her nose and when she finally rises, gasping and spluttering, she realizes she'd nearly lost her bikini top in the process.[break][break]

Mantine has the decency to look apologetic, at least, but Luka still huffs and storms off- though it's less dramatic when she's wading through chest-deep water.[break][break]

She feels bad for snapping, so when she returns a while later it's with a handful of treats for the water type. At first they seem wary, but then swim up and bump their little antenna against her leg.[break][break]

"Sorry about that," Luka coos. "I just wasn't ready...but let's try again, okay?"[break][break]
Refreshed and renewed, the pair tries Over the Gyarados yet again.

The STARMIE 720 seemed to elude Shalin like it was a curse not being able to perform it just once. She never thought she would have this kind of difficulty with a simple whirling trick, even though it was on two different axes. She cast off and gave the three consecutive flips in different directions another try. If she could stay on the Mantine through those, the final whirling motion would be easy for her to pull off - and fun.

Josh had a rough day; he almost forgot to sign up for a spot on the Mantine Surfing schedule. He was part of the very last group to go out, so he would only get one shot at pulling off the Expert-level OVER-THE-GYARADOS, and with little time to review his technique. The rest of the trick wasn't too bad; it was just that leap off the Mantine at the very end requiring more precision and contortion than he had in him. He better make this one shot count...
