Crazy how many Gyarados he was catching in these waters. Most were small, but these were supposed to be rare, powerful Pokemon. Perhaps he was just getting lucky?

Lucky in a sense, anyways. But now was his last chance to test his luck.

The last bit of the sun hovers at the horizon, casting long shadows across the placid water from the boats anchored nearby. A crew member approaches Rafael with questions about departure times. Rafael gives the woman brief instructions and then heads to where his fishing rod is fixed to the side of the yacht. As he reaches to disengage the rod from the holder, the pole jerks down and Rafael instead reels in another catch.[break][break]

Rafael pops the freshly caught Barraskewda into a pokeball and, with Noble's help, tosses the few lingering pokemon they have caught back into the sea. The sound of the yacht's engine revs up and Rafael breaks down the fishing pole as they begin their short journey back to shore.

Aww, he was sad this event was ending too early—mostly because he had so much fun fishing up the weird-ass fishies he’d found throughout the entire event.

[attr="class","aurelie_body"]Wouldn't it be funny if, after having announced that the Slateport Splashfest festival was only scheduled to run for a certain time, the announcers suddenly came out with a last-minute proclamation that it would be extended? Aurelie chuckled over the thought as she cast out her line to sea, thinking of the chaos that such a proclamation might engender. On the other hand, it might not be such a laughing matter for her either, as she'd have to worry about extending her hotel arrangements and the financial impact on keeping her forge closed even longer.

Either way, such musings were almost certainly purely academic. What was not academic, however, was the bite on her line. She teased her line slightly and felt a stronger bite. She quickly started to reel it in, hoping for another exciting catch to finish off what had been an unexpectedly rewarding and wonderful day at Splashfest.

after a little while, the rod dipped towards the water, pulled by whatever was at the end of her line. she jumped up to grab it, reeling back quickly to bring it in. hopefully it was something not average? even exceptionally small would be fine for this last catch. she would gladly take the crown.
