But this was amazing!

He had a whole slew of his Pokemon out helping him build his snowboy: Periwinkle and the two Togepi, each bundled up in a fluffy hat Sy’d cut holes in for their feet, Mauve and Copper and Colombina out to watch over it all.

His Togepi were currently helping him roll a ball that would, he hoped, be a perfect base for his snowkid.

as if the two had lost a good friend or family member, there they were - amidst the public with their little dramatic act that was unfortunately a reality to them. this was all quickly put past them, however, as danny started sprouting roses around him like a shoujo manga protagonist and micah could feel her eyes turn into some 80's anime filter lookalike. "brooOooOO ..." came the quivering appreciation from the fellow streamer, her eyes watering for a new reason. she was so lucky to have danny - someone so positive and wonderful. the two of them were rocket members, but they seemed to have enough time to appreciate and love one another unlike their status implied. of course, they were grunts - something akin to team yell grunts more than anything but that was secondary to the situation at hand.[break]
"i'm going to make some eggnog, with extra nutmeg as well," micah said, giving danny's ass a playful grab as she wiggled her eyebrows wildly at him. it was a miracle she didn't pull a facial muscle with that stint, but there she was already turning a full 180 from her dramatics to help danny along with his snowboy as they seemed to work together on most everything. when they were done with his piece, she tugged him over to help with her own.[break]
in a small moment of genuine, serious appreciation, micah gave danny a toothy smile and an almost shy nod of her head. "it's nice being out here without the cameras, huh? i love spending time with just you, big d."

jaskier could always pull out the ugliest laugh from taiga in which she had to bend over and hold her stomach before she started spilling tears from how funny his reactions were. for a full-grown frightening man, he really couldn't keep his shit together. that came from a long-standing history of all forms of trauma but she knew they could both laugh it off and bond over it, hence why they were stuck to each other like glue despite their constant fights and tribulations. this made taiga blush a bit, a big shark grin on her face as she hooked an arm into jaskier's own and took his thermos to sip a bit of the eggnog he had brought. it wasn't poorly mixed, at least, and she found herself enjoying sharing the same drink canister with the man she came to adore the most out of anyone -- the only one she could really find it in herself to trust and pursue with all she had, no matter how little it was.[break]
"you also brought the fruitcake, huh?" taiga asked - obviously referencing the thick ass she had the pleasure of ogling from behind. "thanks for coming out, jas," the 'fire crotch' herself said, averting her eyes as she dug into her pockets and fumbled about a bit to hold out a small velvet box in both hands. this obviously was a present she had picked out for him and she was happy to show it to him but not before she let out her charizard for extra heat, the large dragon yawning from being awoken - the small santa hats it had atop both horns jingling softly as it provided ambient lighting for the large chunky ring she had picked out for him. it was worth more than most anyone's annual paycheck, but work had been going well and the first thing taiga thought to do was spend it on the very man she antagonized daily for fun on both their sides.

He stood nearby cupping a Thermos of peppermint hot cocoa as his little collection of monsters set about building a snowboy for him-- just like when he’d ‘gone fishing’ and his Pokemon had done most of the work.

Ash was still in a cast and so Kepler’s team was helping him build a snowboy, too, to avoid any undue stress on his injuries. He hadn’t wanted Ashley to come out into the cold so soon-- quoting anything from medication to blood loss to infection to the effect of all of the above on his body temperature-- but he’d eventually given in.

Didn’t mean he wasn’t helicoptering, though.

“How do you feel?” Kep asked, side-eying the snowball fight from a safe distance. “Okay to stay out?”

He's still in the cast, sure, but Ashley was going. He was resilient, on painkillers, and every bit ready to tango. Wearing every bit of his winter gear, he even wears earmuffs so his ear injury remains hidden and warm.

With Kep's Pokemon helping him, all Ashley thought to bring was his Glaceon Maple, who was quietly helping to build the snowman with keeping it together via Snow Cloak, changing the moisture to freeze more in air, while his Scorbunny Sunny helped to try and pat it for firmness.

Ashley was happiest with moments like this.

"I'm fine, baby. Thanks." He smiles, moving towards Kep and kissing his cheek as he would. He liked how caring and doting the helicoptering partner was being, and it was the only way he was even allowed out though.

"Heh. We should have a date in this kind of weather. My birthday is coming up." Big, wide, grinning Ashley. He was in jollier spirits. What was it?

Barnaby did know better, actually. And yet he always liked to test the limits of Martín del Mar's patience. As had been their way since the first time they'd met, teasing and poking and prodding was at the core of their relationship. So it came as no surprise to Barnaby that Mars had a few tricks up his sleeve yet.

Eris Halla was apparently working for the opposition, for a snowball from her coupled with Pollux nipping at his heel was enough to distract Barnaby from Mars' true play. He tried to shift away in time, but the other man caught him around his waist with enough force to knock both of them off their feet.

They landed into the snowbank with a soft thud. No harm done, save perhaps for the hair of Barnaby's manicured wig being slightly ruffled. When Mars laughed he did too; their mirth came out through misty breaths and carried over the snow-laden fields. The two lovebirds continued like this until their merry sounds eventually subsided into looks of adoration.

"Hey," Barnaby responded softly, a warmth present in his tone that hadn't been there before when he was issuing declarations of war.

Mars spoke of hot chocolate and Barnaby couldn't help but divert his gaze to the side, where he could see stalls of all types nearby. Some sold holiday crafts, bakery treats like cookies and fruitcakes, and yes, hot chocolate. "That sounds divine."

Barnaby made to move, as if he was just shifting around from an uncomfortable position..

"Loser pays?" It was posed as a question, but little did Mars know it was all a clever ploy meant to focus his attention on Barnaby! While they'd been downed Castor had snuck up from behind and, at just the right moment, pounced onto Martín del Mar.

Not viciously, of course. He was only ever playful when it came to Mars. However, Barnaby would use the opportunity to scramble away toward his partner's vulnerable snowboy.

"One wrong move and the snowboy gets it." He warned, foot hovering dangerously close to the base of the snow figure.

Mei chuckled in-between bites of delicious yuletide fruitcake as her roommate complained about the weather. "Oh hush, darling," she said affectionately to Yumi Hasegawa. "A little cold never hurt anybody. Besides, you look so cute in that coat!" Mei patted the other woman's arm as if to emphasize her point, then giggled as Yumi continued to scowl.[break][break]
Mei wasn't exactly the artistic type, but she had fond memories of building snowpeople in Kanto with her fellow brothel sisters on the snowiest days in winter. The girls would laugh until tears streamed down their cheeks, freezing against their skin, throwing snowballs at one another and collapsing onto the ground in mock-defeat. They were some of Mei's happiest memories from her younger years, a time that was otherwise dominated by memories of prioritizing the pleasure of others over her own.[break][break]
Mei gathered a large handful of snow in her gloves and began to shape her snowboy, humming happily in contrast to Yumi's grumbling. Beside her, Nephele the Swablu began to flit around in search of any stray branches her trainer might be able to use. Clever little bird.[break][break]

"Oh, right, Spot has his, too!" She popped open the Lucario's Poké Ball, revealing that he was wearing a similar fur-lined coat in red. "His is red. I wanted to wear mine, but it's cold this year! At least that means more snow." She shrugged away the thoughts of a near-apocalyptic winter. Hoenn was okay, and that's what mattered.

[break][break]Snuffles was already sniffing and digging at the ground, pulling up a variety of rocks and lost trinkets that might be good for decorating the snowboy with. She was also inadvertently making snow piles, though none of them were round enough to add to the snowboy itself. Julia would have to fix that later.

[break][break]While Julia watched, she heard the telltale splat! of a snowball hitting someone. She looked over to see that poor Hideo had been beaned right in the side of the face by a young girl on a warpath. No one, regardless of age or rank, was spared her adorable wrath.

[break][break]"I'll catch up in a bit," Julia said. "I've gotta make sure Snuffles doesn't eat all the stalls first." Snuffles didn't even bother to look offended at such an accusation. Maybe Julia would pick up something there, too. She wondered if they had fruitcake...
