INSPIRED POKEMON: SHEBA THE HOUNDOOM

Audric Black has fashioned his mask to look exactly like that of his HOUNDOOM, SHEBA. He has even gone as far as to include the distinct scar on her ear that received as a small pup during a play-fight with her brothers. He was sure to use enough sturdy construction paper (and plenty of glue and tape) to fashion the orange snout and the white horns. When shown this mask, however, Sheba seemed unimpressed and somewhat insulted.

INSPIRED POKEMON: Caribert the Alolan Raichu
INSPIRED TYPE: Electric/Psychic

The mask is round, and it takes Sansa quite a bit of work to perfect it that way. It needs to encompass the cuteness that is Caribert the Alolan Raichu, after all! She uses glitter and glue to make the bright blue eyes on her mask pop out as well. Though, admittedly, she can't really see much outside of them. The eye slits she cut open are paper thin, after all. More importantly, she goes out of her way to make the ears almost as fuzzy as they are in real life by stapling faux fur onto the construction paper.

His mask of choice is more so to match his partner's. Zabaglione, the excitable purple Zigzagoon, had been fitted with a Cubone mask made out of lightweight plastic. Likewise, Mint had followed suit laughing as his partner ran aorund his legs excitedly, a small bone in his mouth. Mint meanwhile adjsuted his own half mask to make sure the eye holes were aligned.

"I think this was an excellent choice, Zaba." he said as he got the galarian Zigzagoon to stop for long enough to snap a photo of him for his insta."

Paxton goes for ather simple for his mask, picking something that resembles one of the many different designs of a Yamask's mask. Sure, its a little somber, but he jsut wants a quick memento and he just likes the way the color looks. Plus, even if he tended to care for steel types, Yamask were still pretty cute.

Josh was not normally not one to partake in arts and crafts, though he took inspiration from the fireworks show on the very last night of the carnival. The events of GOODBYE, GALAR were fleeting, but remained in his mind. As such, the Gym Leader's mask consisted of a gray crown and the face of a regal-looking, yet fear-inducing, great cat with prominent yellows, whites, and blacks. Blood-red eyes embody the ferocity of the Beast it is based on, reflecting the wearer's impulsive yet protective nature.

Perhaps the most intimidating feature of the mask were its twin fangs that stretched almost all the way down to the wearer's upper chest. Though they were white plastic, they still looked sharp as knives from a distance. When applying the coat of paint, he did so intentionally at a greater distance than recommended, creating a blur effect that he imagined others who stared down his ELECTRO BALL sword saw that day. It represented incomprehensible speed that would have torn him to shreds had he not undergone rigorous training all that time.

When Josh finished the mask and donned it, the reception was lukewarm at best. Some attendees even called the work blasphemous. He didn't let it bother him, though. He was done living his life by stepping on the pins and needles of others. Putting the metaphorical foot down. He had spent his life treating people the way he wanted to be treated.

"People" now included himself.

As Shalin and Lathiel listened to and watched the fireworks show, thoughts of what she had given up to synthesize the Type: Null came to mind. They were mostly sad thoughts of how Pharika's life had been taken from her in a cruel instant, and there was nothing that was ever going to bring her back. She was a unique and valuable Pokémon, one of the few aquatic Pokémon capable of using electricity as a potent weapon. As much as she wanted to capture another one, raising one would just make her miss Pharika even more. She needed something to remember the poison-type by. The mask-making booth would be a great way to have something physical, as a way for her to live on in spirit.

Shalin got to work, crafting a mask with a pink and purple crown on top of an otherwise brown face. Its loud snout made it a little difficult to see what was directly in front of her when she wore it, but it was something she was willing to compromise on to remember the noble sacrifice her partner made. She put the finishing touches on it: leaf-like protrusions on the sides, partially covering her ears. When she faced her Type: Null with her new mask on, Lathiel did something she never did before.

She shed a singular tear.
