[attr="class","illeana i"]thanks to the reports pouring in from league personnel across the region, Eva Morales's in particular, the alchemist is able to arrive with relatively quick speed. she wastes little time with transportation, instead preferring to step through a dimensional rift onto the scene...

and what she finds is, well, interesting to say the least?

all around, people are gathering in hordes as the infected move throughout littleroot town. their odd, discombobulated movements remind her of the mindless migration of megalopolans in their hunt for food... but they lack the pale blue skin and sunken eyes. instead, there's almost a purple essence around them as if the toxins are seeping into the spatial matter around them.

her expression flattens into barely there concern at the thought.

she turns, then, and despite herself, catches a quick glance of jayden cross. her eyes sharpen for a moment before she refocuses on those around her. she's unable to really transport them in a way that won't risk infection, but maybe she can barricade or corral them toward the league triage centers...

the alchemist shifts a translucent pink barrier into existence and begins to put it up in front of the townspeople to keep them from continuing to attack the league responders. over her comms system, she calls for annalise henderson and other support figures in particular.

"hey, annalise henderson or any nearby healers, got a few more people in need of some help!"

the concept of calling for others to heal when she used to be able to respond still stings a little, if she truly stops to process it.

Just…what was that girl getting herself into, again? Megan sighed to herself as she checked the message. Again. And then once more for good measure. Johanna just got herself into the weirdest situations. Fighting in the mists on a mountain only to get almost erased from existence. Multiple encounters with big bad legendaries and mythicals. And now, to top it all off…mochi? Like the Johto stuff they sold at the festival? But people being sorta kinda obsessed about that?

Megan could not help it as she rode her dragon. She had to sigh. She really ought to just pick Jo up from whatever was happening, figure that it would eventually sort itself out anyway because…Hoenn. And then just fly off somewhere sane. [break][break]

But then again, she wasn’t a jerk that just would stay away when people might be in trouble. And neither was Jo. So, for one, running away wasn’t for her, and for the other, well, she didn’t exactly want Jo to be sad.

Yeah, she was coming anyway. And fortunately, whatever those mochi zombies…mombies? Mochi possessionados? Either way! Whoever they were, they did not really have anti-air defenses, so she would be able to land Hydreigon in the street outlined by the picture, knocking down some of the mochers. Yes, that was what she was going to call them.

Anyway, some of them were knocked down, their mochi falling up. Megan caught one, blinked at it, but shook that off. Instead, she looked about. “Johanna, are you still here?” Asking could not hurt. Not like the Mochers would be able to capitalize on that.

The why and how of Atreyu's arrival at Littleroot wasn't important right now. What was was the strange swarm of people and pokemon that rolled out in waves from the epicenter of town, eyes tinted purple as they chicken-danced their way to whatever goal they had. Was there a goal other than achieving general chaos? He scowled at the scene, quickly backing up into an unoccupied alley so he could peek behind a better defense as he strategized.

What he couldn't keep his gaze off of was the crystal formation jutting out in the town center. Anything shiny and pretty would draw attention, sure, but this seemed especially... sinister. The fog of miasma emanating from it didn't exactly help, either. Observing the people themselves made the whole ordeal seem silly, but after watching a few interactions between the unaffected and the poisoned, it was clear they were hostile.

Why though? Why... mochi?

Just as Trey sighed, a large hand grabbed his shoulder and shoved him out into the open, earning a startled yelp. Almost immediately, a man whipped around to face him, zombie-walking towards his general direction. His head snapped to look behind him and flip off the culprit, who was snickering and sticking her tongue out. His Haunter, Wisp, halfway apparated out of the wall he'd just been hiding behind; just her presence alone caused him to shudder. He didn't have time to scold her, though. Just as the mochi-crazed man got into range, Trey acted on instinct, swinging his fist out into an uppercut aimed straight at the other person's jaw. It was a clean-cut victory, Trey's target toppling over into the street without much of a fuss.

"You think that's funny, don't you?" he chided as Wisp cackled, turning around to face her. Unbeknownst to him, the man's pokemon was right behind them, the Obstagoon lunging forward with claws outstretched—

Before Trey had the time to duck, Wisp shot out of the alley, mirroring what her trainer had done: before the Obstagoon could land the hit, she pummeled it with a Sucker Punch, sending it flying backwards. Even from a few feet away, she and Trey could see its Toxic Chain disappearing from view. Trey stood there dumbfounded, waiting for the pokemon to get up. It didn't.

"Great—now there's two bodies." Wisp shrugged; Trey's hand slid down his face in defeat. "Guess we better take 'em somewhere instead of leaving them in the street."

a dampened gunshot popped and a chain faded from the back of a teen. their eyes were wide at her as they changed back to a natural brown. it had been some time since she’d done any shooting, but she’d been close enough to trust herself.[break][break]

a lucario had her back, sending an aura sphere into another violet-eyed woman that got too close.[break][break]

use a FIGHTING-TYPE Pokemon.
