To an extent, it was good that Greyson Connors was still alive. He was needed for the war to come. He and Navy were imperative to Eternatus's defeat. He had seen it in the false Galar. It had not been ordained by something as trivial as a prophecy or fate, but by the will of heroes.

Heroes must return to slay giants, after all.

"Just keep him away from me. Keep the sheriff away from me, as well. I'd rather not get mercilessly crushed. He hasn't forgiven me for burning down his town, unfortunately."

Even if they had a blood oath to kill each other, overseen by a hero of Galar, that did not need to be today. He intended to stall that battle as much as possible, until it could be fought on his terms. As for Greyson... he made good honey. Howard had little experience with him.

Yet what seized was not Shred and his proclamation. Howard would deal with him when this was over. Instead, it was jayden cross 's observation that drew the admin's attention away.

Glacial blue met magenta red. The admin blinked slowly at his colleague.

"I won. We won." He shrugged, before gesturing at priam conrad and Elisabeth Fiorelli . "I was tested in the crucible and I did not chip nor did I shatter. As a swordsman, you can appreciate that."

He leaned back in his chair, dragging a cigarette.

"That is undeniable. Thus, I get to speak my mind. Lo and behold, I have spoken it."

he may not have been in it, but working closely with Katherine Fairburne to unravel the mysteries of the barrier that surrounded the region once had exposed it to him. not that it matters, given that various appearances of the parallel world going haywire has taken that distinction off of him.

volunteering goes out of the window. these people have already worked on these before it even became a subject of contention. priam forgoes any adventure for the bigger picture.

The hand remained outstretched, cracks of red splitting keratin nails. The weight of a star crushing an ant is heavy on the admin's shoulders. There was nothing more decadent than an excess of power. That, Howard's foe had in spades.

"You honor me. Thank you, God General." The admin smiled, seething at the prospect of being placed behind a desk again. When he had been promoted to Rocket Admin, the last vestiges of joy at the promotion were crushed by the fact that his job took him out of the field and placed him behind the desk. "Yet if that is what our bosses and underbosses desire, then I shall provide. Just as I always have."

This was a farce. He was being flayed in part of everyone for daring to reach too far. He had tried to catch a star, he had overreached, and now he was falling.

"As I said earlier, what the League razes, we shall raise anew." He found Cillian Quinn , Tempest Quinn , and Naomi Sato . "I cannot give you back your homes. I'm sorry, you three. But I can give you something new. A home that the League won't take from you. But first..."

He stretched his hand out further, artificial digits creaking as he did so. As they reached for the God General, Howard reached into his pocket, feeling the sensation of cloth and the crackle of paper. He produced them in his other hand.

"If I'm sharing my victory with you, it's only fair that you do the same with me." A victory few could partake in. Only Elisabeth and Priam could drink deep from the chalice of victory. Only Priam had helped the admin capture Regirock. They had made the admin's dream a reality. "Mossdeep. Sootopolis. Give them to me. I want to feel them in these hands that can't feel and see them with this eye that can't see."

All parts of a body that wasn't his. Yet it didn't matter. His soul was still intact. He was still human raging against the malignant star in the sky.

"If you can't, then give me your defeat. I'll shoulder that too. Yet I'm aware that losing is a hard pill to swallow." Howard tossed the scrap of cloth and the drawing towards the God General. As it flew, a whisper of the north wind guided it towards the Devourer. Howard Slayte bowed his head. "So here's proof of my success and my failure."

Petalburg was his success. His success. Isaac Merlo was Team Rocket's failure, one that continued to gnaw at them even as they seized Petalburg with worldshaking power.

"I took Petalburg. I failed to kill a traitor. If I'm willingly shouldering that blame, then we should all strive to relieve ourselves of that burden." Howard scanned the room, his eye meeting every member of high command before ending on declan walsh . "But this was your failure first, wasn't it, God General? It was Underboss Quinn's, afterwards. If we cannot correct our own ineptitude, then we will never break this cycle of blame and failure."

Or he'd finish the job first.

"What do you all think?"

From across the table, Monroe brandishes his fingerguns at the Admin. Though there is no smoke from the barrels of his indexes, his smile is wide enough to fit several cigars.[break][break]

"we share our failures. that is for certain." Walsh says. "but do not grow soft. do not take that as an excuse for repeated blunders. for the health of the herd, you cull the weak, do we not?"[break][break]

A dreadful pang overtakes the building. Unease spreads from the center of the room, pushing outward into opposite sides like a body splitting itself apart by grasping for grapes.[break][break]

Around the Pokemon Center, sclera can be seen shifting across torn wallpaper and chipped countertops. These UNOWN do not answer to Naomi Sato and instead, answer to the disembodied voice that mint frost would instantly recognize.[break][break]

"warring against us? oh, i like that! some conviction! some drive! don't hesitate, oh mighty team rocket! seize us by the throat and don't let go!" Father Winter's voice echoes. "wow... it's so convenient when our targets walk right into our hands. pressed right against the wall for our barrels."[break][break]

The voice swoops in close to mint frost's.[break][break]

"isn't that right, my little songbird?"[break][break]

Then to Naomi Sato's.[break][break]

"isn't that right, thief?"[break][break]

As the embedded eyes flicker about like haunted lights, the voice speaks one last time:[break][break]

"we're all headed toward the end, you know? almost at the point of no return. unless you and your people willingly bow your heads for our blades. just know that it's not just you against us. it'll be you against all worlds! remember that!"[break][break]

The eyes fade, and along with it, Father Winter's voice.

THIS "EVENT" IS NOT IN A RAID FORMAT. There may be no battles at all. After all, these meetings are opportunities for Rocket's higher-ups to mingle, express opinions, and assist with shaping the direction of the faction. Though there will be "moderator posts", these threads largely live by the interactions and decisions made by writers and their characters.[break][break]

You are encouraged to have characters ICLY DISAGREE with each other and conflict even though they are a part of the same faction.[break][break]

Although DISSEMINATE III is exclusive to canons, the consequences of this thread diffuse into the wider cast of characters. Furthermore, canon characters are granted opportunities to weave in non-canons into their stories from new hooks, new inspirations, and/or revitalized or reaffirmed conflicts, themes and relationships.[break][break]

Participation in this thread is NOT MANDATORY for Rocket canons, but an absence requires IC JUSTIFICATION. Furthermore, there are no sign-ups for this event. Your sign-up will be your first post in the first "round". Please include THREE POKEMON that your character is bringing in your first post.
