"You know, I've been wondering," He tapped a contemplative finger on his lips, though the darkness around them would obscure the gesture. "The Unown are such a mystery. They're a hivemind, correct? They work in tandem, strength in numbers, all that. They have their own dimension, even."[break][break]

It was all about the collective with them. [break][break]

"Yet Head Scientist Sato's lot and the DRK Triad's appear diametrically opposed. Is it just a matter of some originating from another universe, or..." Are they playing us? [break][break]

Was there some larger scheme at work?[break][break]

Whatever the case, it was a conversation that could happen at another time. [break][break]

To 's question about the DRK Triad's motivations, Barnaby answered simply, "They're watching. Learning what makes us tick. I can only assume this simulation is gathering data on us as much as we're gleaning from it." [break][break]

Soon enough, fear consumed them both before the shift sent them to a wholly different scenario.

The PICHU was surprisingly docile in 's arms, though this peace did not last long. From the bushes a pair of bright yellow eyes watched, their owner waiting for just the right moment to...[break][break]

Spring into action! The reason for PICHU's amiable attitude was made clear: it was being stalked by a particularly ferocious LITTEN. Jumping up near Barnaby, the cat batted its clawed paws in desperation for a little rodent meal.[break][break]

"Sssskk! Away with you!" The admin hissed, gesturing for his HOUNDOOM to subdue the LITTEN — an easy feat for the MEGA EVOLVED Pokémon. Within seconds the kitten was snuggling secured in a Safari Ball.

Their pact is still new, but already Barnaby is beginning to push boundaries that he might not have before (or not as explicitly) with the reckless confidence that his actions are backed by a powerful, almost otherworldly force.[break][break]

Screaming sirens blared all around as the LOYAL THREE and their crystalline masks fell, one by one. Sensing the coming disaster, MOLTRES rushed over to sweep its mighty wings over , lessening the inevitable impact of the ship. [break][break]

Still, there was no escaping injury during a crash landing. Not unless you were , of course. [break][break]

"Agh.."[break][break]

Blood trickled from his already marred scalp as Barnaby gasped awake post-crash. Poison still coated his lungs, making every haggard breath wet and miserable. Despite this, he tried to ground himself back into the present, to take in the wreckage and the carnage, but found that his vision was blurry and unfocused. It was difficult to keep his eyelids open as he faded in and out of consciousness.[break][break]

Blink. Was that abandoning them at the very climax of this confrontation?[break][break]

Blink. CELEBI? Here? And touching hands with a young woman? But had murdered the sprite...[break][break]

Blink. Elisabeth, still alive, swathed in thorn and vine — and next to her? .[break][break]

Blink. Cyllora with a quivering Pokémon and Velmos dangling from a TOXIC CHAIN — standing before a dark ULTRA MEGALOPOLIS. The same cityscape he'd envisioned previously.[break][break]

That sight — and her pitiable plea — roused enough for him to stand. [break][break]

Cyllora may have been sincere in her appeal, but she was nothing but a puppet for the NEVER-ROT's whims. Sparing them now was a gamble he wasn't willing to make. It was reassuring to hear similar sentiments from the likes of and .[break][break]

Enough attacks were aimed Cyllora's way. Instead, Barnaby focused his efforts on sparing the TOXIC CHAINED Megalopolans and their Pokémon clones alongside .[break][break]

Barnaby can create, shape, and manipulate darkness. He can create areas of total darkness, create short-lived constructs out of darkness, and has increased mobility within this created dark.

With the last of his energy, The Infernal conjured SHADOWED WALLS to protect the Megalopolans from any cascading attacks on Cyllora and PECHARUNT and to hold them in from lashing out on their behest. MOLTRES joined in his exploits, moving to hover over the alien group and using its sinister aura to siphon energy away from them.[break][break]

Wordlessly, sprinted alongside as she ushered them forward, out of the bowels of the beast. MOLTRES followed behind, swatting away gelatinous creatures or simply devouring them whole. The DYNERGY tasted delicious on its tongue.[break][break]

Unfortunately, madness still threatened to overtake them. What Barnaby once thought were mere hallucinations began to take shape around the pair of ROCKETS – horrid beings with bodies screwed together in the most unattractive ways, spewing filth from their grinning mouths. [break][break]

“Shit!” A bony hand, eerily humanoid, reached out from the gloom to grab at his forearm. Within seconds, shadowy flames consumed the monster; if Soyeon faced similar threats, would summon his dark fire to assist her, too. "Stay close to me."[break][break]

Just as they were about to depart, a grotesque amalgamation of two mighty beasts suddenly appeared to halt their escape: DIALGA and RAYQUAZA. These two were likely conjured and combined by both of their psyches, as these were major players in ROCKET’s potential downfall.[break][break]

The admin didn't even need to give a command. MOLTRES knew its place and the stipulations of their pact. With a wailing cry the LEGENDARY BIRD soared forward, a magenta aura flaring all around it as it unleashed its FIERY WRATH.
