A SWARM OF ROTOM have infiltrated the APPLIANCE SECTION AT LILYCOVE DEPARTMENT STORE over the span of a few days. Every time they appear, they wreak havoc as they take control of various devices: TVs, blenders, vacuums and more. Save the day(s) by attempting to retrieve these Rotom before they void all and every warranty on site.[break][break]

  • in order to qualify for the capture, you must ROLL using the ROLL COMMAND. after, INCLUDE AN APPLIANCE BRAND (LG, GENERAL ELECTRIC, ETC.) OR LUIGI'S MANSION somewhere in your post. you may use an image, gif, use an analogy, figurative language, etc.
  • the highest roll will earn a shiny rotom; the second highest roll will earn a regular rotom, the second lowest roll will net a regular rotom, and the lowest roll will net a shiny rotom. the gender of the pokemon can be decided by the recipient.
  • the attempted capture will not consume a pokéball.
  • the rotom have movesets that will be revealed at the end of the event.
  • this is a time-limited event and will end OCTOBER 28TH, 11:59PM PST.

[attr="class","illeana i"]truthfully, she'd be happy to just let the pesky rotom run amok - after all, they're cute - but the department store employees seem like they're at their wits end and she pities them.

it's how she finds herself shoving her head into a whirlpool washing machine as if that's gonna magically make the rotom inside come out. it won't, surely, but at least the rotom might find it kind of funny.

the telltale snicker follows, sounding more like a zap of electricity than anything concrete, and surprisingly enough, the rotom pops out to get a full look at the scientist. she takes the opportunity to toss a pokeball and keep it from causing more damage than it already has.

Incineroar drove his fist through the screen of a nearby television in the entertainment aisle of the local electronic shop. "Incineroar! No!" Xiura chided as a cluster of Rotom fizzled mischievously, electric fields blossoming around them like the petals of crystablooms. They darted into a host of nearby Dyson vacuums.

"Roar!" Incineroar protested, distracted as a hand vacuum loomed over his fuzzy head.

"Oh, look out!" Xiura said, pointing at the Rotom-possessed vacuum as it started violently suctioning one of Incineroar's ears.

"Incineroar!" the fighter Pokemon bellowed in indignation, punching the vacuum in its... face?

"I've got it!" Xiura said, scurrying nearer to the fallen appliance. The trainer threw a Pokeball at the disoriented Rotom, hoping for the best.

Sierra strolled through the bustling aisles of the Lilycove Department Store, her eyes scanning the shelves for the perfect LG radio to accompany her on her Pokémon news reporting adventures. She was determined to find a device that could capture the crisp tones of her voice as she delivered breaking stories and updates from the world of Pokémon.[break][break]

As she meandered through the electronics section, a sleek and modern radio caught her eye. Its polished exterior and array of buttons promised a world of possibilities. Sierra reached out to inspect it, running her fingers over its smooth surface. It seemed ideal for her apartment.[break][break]

Little did she know, hidden within the circuitry of the seemingly ordinary radio was a mischievous Rotom, its mischievous eyes glowing faintly with an otherworldly energy. Unbeknownst to Sierra, the spirit possessed the radio, ready to add an unexpected twist to her day.[break][break]

Excitement bubbled within Sierra as she made her way to the checkout counter, her new radio nestled securely in her arms. Eager to test her purchase, she switched it on, anticipating the crisp sound of her own voice emanating from the speakers.[break][break]

Instead, the radio erupted into a cacophony of bizarre noises, a mix of static, electronic whirring, and peculiar chirps. Sierra's eyes widened in shock as she fumbled with the volume control, desperately trying to silence the unexpected sound emanating from the possessed device.[break][break]

Amidst the chaotic noise, a singular phrase emerged, loud and clear, "Dreamy Tauros." Sierra blinked in confusion, her embarrassment rising as she imagined the bewildered gazes of onlookers. What was happening? Was this some sort of prank? A glitch in the radio's programming?

Handing over several hundred pokedollars to the Lilycove Department Store clerk, Jack tucked the perfume into a simple gift bag for . The warm scent of the fragrance still tickled his nose as he took a shortcut through the appliance section on his way out of the building. His quick exit was paused when Watts stopped to stare at a stack of microwaves as a low growl rumbled in his chest. Without warning, they crackled with electricity and Jack found himself in need of kitchen aid as microwaves zoomed into the air, flying recklessly up and down the aisle. Watts chased one model with happy barks while Jack crouched, ready to pounce on another unit that threatened to crash into a display stand of cookware.[break][break]

Aaron was given skeptical looks as the Rotom ran rampent, one flying around in a Cuisineart blender. A Ninja air fryer was throwing french fries at various people. This had got to stop! With him was Palosand, his ghost/ground type pokemon. Normally, he'd have preferred to bring Steelix, but the mall was too small for that. So, the scary sand castle it was! Plus, she knew Hypnosis. And she slung that move around like she could do it all day! Okay, maybe she couldn't do it all day, but she had some pretty good accuracy with it! So far anyways. Three were down. And as much as he'd like to start chucking pokeballs at them, there was a lot more around wreaking havoc.  Palosand had to start slinging Shadow Balls to protect the blonde. These things were such a nuisence. But also kind of cool. Hopefully he'd find the time to catch one that he had put to sleep...

Robin followed Drakloak's hurried skittering through town. He sensed something she hadn't, and it seemed urgent. Before long, she found herself at an appliance store. What the heck? But there were others around who seemed rather concerned. She entered only to find a series of Rotom possessing different pieces of equipment. "This place looks freakin' haunted," she said as she watched the appliances move, turn-on, and bump into each other wildly. It really did seem like a poltergeist or something.

It reminded her of that game her brother liked to play with the guy in the green hat and the haunted mansion or manor or whatever. It was funny now, but she'd been upset at the time because putting ghosts and ghostly elements as antagonists had infuriated her for its contribution to stigmatizing ghosts.

Maybe Rotoms could use a little stigma. They were truly unhinged. "Drakloak, I'm not sure we're ready to tackle a problem this size." But she wasn't going to just leave without seeing things through. Who knew? Maybe she'd get a mini fridge out of the endeavor.

They're so close to greatness, a singular DVD logo haplessly bouncing around this large Samsung TV screen. It changes colour each time it hits a surface, enraptures her as she quite nearly reaches out to shake the screen.[break][break]

lilycove's famous department store is known for being the picture of fashion, commercialism, but most importantly, grace. [break][break]

now here comes momo, entering through the automatic doors, only to step into a world filled with metal and despair. screams and gears. appliances and trainers and pokemon, all duking it out for a chance at normalcy. while some people look earnest in their attempt to fix the chaos, others are taking advantage, capturing wild rotoms or better yet — absconding with a brand new TV, microwave, or blender in tow. [break][break]

it's sheer madness and momo feels she has no better choice than to help stop it. she brings out two of her pokemon, rose the shiny polteageist & aimi the tinkaton, in an attempt to ward off some of the rampaging rotoms. "hey, you rotom, you put that down, that's a real yukimura computer! wait, no, rose, watch out! those viking ovens are impossible to destroy, i know because i've tried! and aimi, don't you dare try to sneak that ninja bullet food processor into your bag! i can see you!" she certainly has her work cut out for her. [break][break]

they look absolutely exhausted, hair disheveled as they groan and hobble after their pichu. while others were shrieking and engaging the unruly rotom, shigure's pichu took to joining the chaos. they eagerly rode every roomba a rotom hopped into, speeding away much quicker than a little robot vacuum should be capable of. it also meant shigure was left chasing after it in hopes his pichu wouldn't get hurt, but frankly? he's kind of sick of it. [break][break]

"ugh..." and with that, shigure lets his pancham loose, pointing at pichu cheerfully riding the hose of a dirt devil vacuum (very much so resembling a someone riding one of those mechanical tauros machines). "can you... get him..." he sighs out, body deflating. it's their usual state of being though. it's what happens when his pokemon are usually troublemakers. [break][break]

hadn't exactly been asked to come here and help, but she had volunteered herself anyway. She was something of an expert with Ghost-types, anyway. Perhaps helping the LILYCOVE DEPARTMENT STORE with its troublesome ROTOM SWARM would broadcast such a fact to the rest of HOENN. She needed a job.

So she quietly patrolled the aisles, stopping when she spotted a possessed espresso machine nearby. With a whisper, Laika sends her GIMMIGHOUL, DUCAT, to flank the Rotom from an advantageous position. Her hands reach into her pack and produce an empty ball as her little specter does this. Then, when the moment is just right, Ducat ASTONISHES the Rotom with a jumpscare.

Their little plan goes off without a hitch. The Rotom is successfully tricked into ejecting itself from the espresso machine, and Laika is given but a moment to cast her ball and try to catch it.

The news of Lilycove Mall having haunted appliances was perfect. Not because he wanted to help people, but because of his love for ghosts, in the way that people are disarmed by cats.

He was there anyways, trying to replace his dying, cracked-screen Samsung with another refurbished Samsung. A powerful phone, to be sure, but he loved being able to say "sorry, I don't have FaceTime" all the more. But he seemed to be a little too into it, pointing at a black-case phone he would've bought anyways, looking up at the man at the kiosk. "Do you think this one's... possessed? If so, I want it. i won't finance it, I'll cut you a check right now."

Desiree hadn't expected the frigidaire refrigerator doors to start clunking around like that on her spur-of-the-moment shopping spree, but the quirks of the land had been presenting themselves more and more as of late, so what else would she have expected. If the rumors were true that the appliances were haunted, did that mean that they would come with a ghosty butler though? Looking down at the trio of glowing Shiinotic that held hands beside her, they seemed to not have any input other than looks of bewilderment.[break][break]

Regardless, that ten-thousand-pokedollar fridge was the one she wanted to take home, the perfect amount of storage for all her fruits, veggies, and wine. Attempting to take a closer look at the interior, a pokemon shot out of the electronic panel and bobbled around the shelving; it had to be none other than the butler, ready to meet its newest client! "How does a grand a week sound for your services, très bien ♡~?" She asked the Rotom within its chaotic spout, throwing a pokeball into the cooling system.[break][break]

idris wasn't really here to catch the rampant rotoms. he was actually just here for a new coffee machine. but, he wouldn't take a gift rapidash to the mouth. the potential to get another ghost pokemon alongside his fresh new coffee maker was tantalizing. and whether he got one or not, he'd still leave with what he came for. the rotom would just be a bonus. sneakily opening one of his pokeballs he smiled deceivingly. [break][break]"buddy, shadow sneak." the ghostly doll seeped into shadow and swept towards a rotom that was trying to possess the very philips coffee machine idris was eyeing earlier. so this was definitely personal. "knock it the fuck out. now." no pokemon, ghost type or not. was ruining his chance at getting what he wanted. he would get his fresh coffee in the morning or hell would be paid!
