A HORDE OF HAXORUS have begun testing their mettle against the steel beams of a Slateport construction site. The floor is curiously tiled off into squares: demarcations of where concrete should be and should not be poured. It causes the location to look like some sort of gridded tabletop board game or some tactical roleplaying game. Before they can cause any further damage, try to catch one of the dragons before they're taken away by League Rangers![break][break]

the highest roll will earn a shiny haxorus; the second highest roll will earn a normal haxorus, and the lowest roll will net an axew. the gender of the pokemon can be decided by the recipient.
the attempted capture will not consume a pokéball.
the haxorus/axew have movesets that will be revealed at the end of the event.
this is a time-limited event and will end march 7th, 12am pst.

Chu-e did not really care or want these dragons. He didn't like dragon pokemon. Hell, he already had an Axew sitting in his PC that he never planned on using unless he really needed to. There was no reason for him to be here.

Yes, here he was anyway! It was like some ungodly force compelled him every time one of these swarms happened. Maybe he could catch something and let it rot in his PC. Maybe he would use it as training! Well, that was less that likely, since his current plan was to just chuck a ball into the chaos and see if it hit.

Maybe nothing would happen at all. Somehow, he got the feeling like this would be the best option. Like he would get rewarded with some vanity that he couldn't see if he happened to miss out this time, like he had so many times before.

But, well.

He threw his pokeball into the mess.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Not all who wander are lost - Squinting at the sight before her, Lilith can't help but be reminded of this saying. From trash-filled beaches to Haxorus hordes walking around a construction site, Slateport really doesn't seem to run out of surprises for her to wrap her brain around. She's never quite seen pokemon hijack urban areas without reason, nor has she heard of them swarming in such large numbers… Perhaps, it's just a cultural difference in regions?

Regardless, she's drawn to the crowd of dragons like a moth to a light, curiosity piqued by the lumbering behemoths as they amble about and headbutt piles of metal supports with their axe-like tusks. With all the rumours she's heard about the sharpness of those blades, it's almost a wonder as to how nothing has fallen just yet. And Eclipse shares the same sentiment with a sharp bark, his body carefully balanced on her shoulder as he dives right into her backpack with ease, popping right back out with a pokeball in maw.

A small frown crosses her features, uncertainty pooling in her chest as she gingerly takes the item from his grasp. She's never really liked the idea of catching pokemon against their own will, never able to shake that quiet dread that lurks amidst suppressed memories. Tilting his head, the Zorua climbs back onto her shoulder and gently nuzzles her cheek, his paws kneading the fabric of her jacket as he lets out a soft growl.

This is nothing like what they did. Even if she catches one here, she can still release them back to the wild where it's safer... Right, this is to ensure that the Haxorus and the Axews are kept well out of danger, that none of them will get hurt if any of them unwittingly cause the construction site to begin raining down upon them. Her steps are featherlight, a graceful poise unforgotten over the years even as her body trembles at the lingering thoughts. Then with a quick step forwards, she tosses the pokeball right towards the mess, a throw so crude that it can almost be likened to an axe being haphazardly swung.

Arceus... she's really out of touch, isn't she?

He got here before most people. Considering he lived nearby he was surprised he didn't hear the commotion and had to be called in like the others.

He couldn't figure out why the Haxorus were going aggro over the steel aside from a bad association to steel-type pokémon.

If that was the case, he was only going to exacerbate that correlation.

His Steel, Dragon and Fairy-types all fell in to drive the Haxorus and their young away. Their training and his direction would go a long ways to keep their fights from damaging the steel beams and foundations any further.

The Ranger even brought Blissey just in case someone got hurt and needed first aid.

As much he was tempted to catch of these beasts, the priority of the city had to come first.

Maybe if he was lucky he could catch one of the stragglers. If not, defeating a handful of them would be just as good.

Haxorus?

Okay, that had Alexei’s attention.

Never mind if he already had one (at least he thought he already had one, maybe he had to go through his records again just to make sure he had this particular Pokémon from home) he decided to come check the disturbance that was shaking up Slateport, yet again.

What was it with every single damned-ass swarm always causing trouble in a city center?!

Sighing, he hoped that they hadn’t wrecked too much harm.

Knowing how impossible that was, he hoped to help thin out the herd. Seeing that there was a literal bunch of Haxorus running around accompanied by Fraxure and their even-younger Axew kind, he took aim from his aerial vantage point astride his blue-plumed Braviary and hoped for the best as he threw an empty Pokéball at the crowd of draconids.

Hopefully those axe-like blades could be put to good use, unlike that tragic story he’d followed in one of those games he was still playing.

Haxorous. It was a pure dragon type. Her green orbs washed over them, eye balling the one that was all black. It normally wasn’t her type of creature. But the more she eye balled the black one, the more she kind of wanted it. Reaching into her pocket, the woman plucked a pokeball form her personal inventory and gave it a good toss. The ball burst open, her ghostly creature materialized in that matter of seconds.

“They want us to stop them,” she informed the creature, eyes still on the prize, “I want that black one.” Her arm lifted to point to the all black one that stood several feet away, ready to ram a steel beam before it. “Use blizzard.” The froslass nodded, floating closer to the creature before she summoned a might bone chilling blizzard. Winds whipped out along with any debris that hung around. A chill in the air as the creature blasted it with its weakness of ice. Genesis swift plucked out an empty ball, waiting for the creature to either freeze or fall to capture it.

A wild mess of blonde curls escaped from the confines of a baseball cap, curling outward and framing the eager set of Skyler's face. Glinting much like the steel beams that punctured the air above the captain's head, silver eyes followed the shuffle of what appeared to be, for the lack of a better word, a gang of Axew and Haxorus.

The unruly band of dragons was causing no small amount of mayhem in the construction site, sunlight reflecting off of razor sharp appendages as the dragons swung them around, cutting through solid steel.

The captain had come across them by chance, though she could see that more people were being drawn to the commotion, and it wouldn't be long before the local authorities came to sort this mess out.

In any other situation, Captain Dross would just let them be. This wasn't her problem, after all, much less the type of situation she'd involve herself in - except that one of them (annoying little bugger) had stolen her bomber jacket. And she quite liked that jacket, old and ratty as it might've been.

Dark red eyes blinked at her as she made a mediocre attempt at a stealthy approach, slowly getting the attention of the nearby dragons. She couldn't help but notice with a jolt of amusement that some of them were wearing - sunglasses. Huh. Fashionable. Maybe they really were some sort of gang...

When she grinned at the dragon which held her jacket it seemed to grin back, claws sinking into the fabric and prompting a growled protest from the captain. Silver eyes narrowed.

Then dragon took a step towards her. Skyler pressed her luck by copying the gesture and tauntingly waving an empty pokeball in her hand.

A wild grin spread across her face.

Showtime.

Minutes later Skyler weaved a path between steel beams, bomber jacket around her shoulders, quickly escaping the screech of approaching police sirens...

Today was apparently the day that Haxorus had decided to test as to whether Hyper Beam would melt steel beams. This was, for a Ranger, obviously a serious problem. If people wanted to catch them, they would have to do it quick, as Josh was quickly on the scene. The Ranger took a deep breath as he took off at a run, bringing out his Dragonite who flew alongside him.

"Gawain, Dragon Claw!" Josh called to the Dragonite, who promptly slammed into one of the Haxorus with a draconic claw. Josh didn't hesitate further, tossing a Pokeball and hoping for the best...

The screeching sound of the haxoruses's tusks against the metal echoes throughout Slateport and even into the downtown of the city. The noise is unbearable for most people—Valerio included. But the sight of dragons spawning in the area is a delight on his part.

They are like axe-wielding warriors knocking out the obstacles on their sight. Never does he need to go to Meteor Falls to catch one of them anymore. He just need to test his luck in claiming one in Slateport.

Michi had come to Slateport to try the crem brûlée at a new cafe which had just opened (they had been featured on Kantaro The Sweet Tooth Salamence). Unfortunately, there was a disturbance in the shipyard nearby, and her beloved dragon character Doreepi had zipped off to investigate.

So now what?

Michi peeked out from behind a stone piling, then hid again. Her heart hammered and she clutched her big handbag to her chest. “So many doragon...” she murmured. The grinding, blade-whetting sounds filled the air like screams.

<Dreeeee!> Michi looked up to see Doree returning, leading—a Haxorus?! “No no no no!” she whispered frantically, holding up her hands. She did not want Haxorus! She had only wanted crem brûlée...

<Dree dree dree dree!>

“No no no no!”

Looking delighted at the communication breakthrough they’d made, Doree zipped around the pillar to present the terrified older woman to her new axe-wielding friend.

"What in Calyrex's Green Earth...?" Muttered Gwyar, brows furrowing in confusion at the grid-like patterns cleaved upon the floors.

Besides him, his Gallade made a concious choice to never step on the grid lines, carefully moving through each square as if bound to them by some invisible force.

Gwyar immediately stepped onto one without much thought, causing a nearby's Haxorus' gaze to snap to him.

Originally she thought it was a good thing, now she was starting to believe it might be a bad thing. She had some errands to run so she'd been out shopping since the morning. Her Mawlie walked beside her happily munching on a treat, seemingly ignoring the situation around them. She saw a bunch of people gathered as they tried to minimize the damage the horde of Haxorus were currently causing.

Normally Serena would mind her own business, preferring not to stick her nose in situations it didn't belong it. But she'd be lying if she said she wasn't intrigued. "Think you can do something Titania?" She asked as she looked down at the Mawile. "Wile~" Titania answered as she polished off her treat. "Do a good job and I've got another treat with your name on it." She said with a wink towards Titania. Seemingly motivated, Titania charged off to help the other's in stopping the Haxorus.

Out of the corner of her eye, Serena noticed a few Haxorus that were separated from the mass. Stragglers if you will. A wicked grin formed on her lips as reached for a pokeball from her bag. It'd be a damn shame if she didn't take advantage of the opportunity in front of her, right? Hopefully she had a little luck on her side and would manage to snag one of these guys.

Thankfully, the pack they encountered seemed content to accept the offers of obsidian whetstone and pounds of raw meat in return for dispersing. It was the most incredible thing he'd ever seen.

Brandishing a lumbering axe and adorned in stygian plate, she was a thing of beauty. She gave a heft of her ax, and it slashed swiftly through the air in an act of aggression, threatening everything approaching her and her brood. Displaying her dominance, anything that approached them was promptly eviscerated, even most of the pokeballs sent flying at them didn't stand a chance. But how could a trainer let such a trivial matter stop them from throwing one or two balls, hoping they would find their mark?

Adrian was among them, tossing a pokeball from a safe distance and hoping for a godsend.

What is the world coming to these days? A man can't even walk through Slateport City without a horde of rampaging Axew causing havoc and destruction. You would think, with all the Journeyman trainers around the horde would barely make it through the city, but it seems like even the trainers were no match for these steel-faced Barbarians. Though, perhaps their misfortune could be his gain. If he were to catch himself an Axew, he would practically be a Dragonmaster. If he managed to bag himself the shiny Haxorus he saw leading the pack, well, forget that, he'd be a Dragonlord.

So with a quick twist, he threw his pokeball in, aiming for the Vanguard of the pack, the shiny Haxorus.
