"oh, shit!"

kyle was too focused on playing with his remoraid like a gun that he loses track of the time. chaos was already everywhere, and the next thing he knows is that there's already a sandstorm brewing.

"good thing i have my handy-dandy remoraid pistol!" he exclaims as he flourishes the firearm of a pokemon.

he points the remoraid to the direction of his castle before asking it for an acid spray. poison's consistency is different than water, allowing the sands to stick much harder together with all the gunk with it. it doesn't melt easily either as the sand's property make it resistant to corrosion.

"i found the secret..." he mutters as he stares at his sandcastle. the only thing that can destroy it now is high pressures and actual force.

Now that the moat was in place Razz was prepared for water, as that's mostly what has been used for attacks. Least the ones that were a bit more direct. "Good work, now why not put your ninja skills to some use and hunt down some shells for us? The Tutorial says they'd be good decoration," Razz comments as he looks around for a bucket. Royal gives his trainer a salute before seeming to disappear. [break][break]

With the use of Aerial Ace the ninja pokemon was able to seem to go from one side of the beach to the other with little trouble. Finding shells that could be used, and even added pretty rocks to the collection. All while his trainer started with the shape. [break][break]

Though the fins on his head begin to twitch as he noticed the sand start to pick up. It seems like another problem was coming up and he wouldn't be a very good royal frog if he couldn't protect his trainer. Once more with the speed of his Aerial Ace, showing off his quick ninja skills did he arrive at his Trainer's side before putting his hands on the ground summoning pillars of water with WATER PLEDGE to create a wall of water to protect them from the desert sand around them.

Hurricane force wings, flying debris, and now a sandstorm?! Man, this was getting exciting!

There seemed to be enough going on, hazard wise, so Eva took it upon herself to start singling out some of the competitors to see how they would defend their castles individually. The blonde leaps off the table and rushes into the fray, “Hey Shift! Get down here!” her voice barely cuts through the howling winds but it’s enough for the Wingull to hear. He squawks happily and swoops down, “Transform into that, and target some castles,” her finger points towards Raziel Beckett ’s Greninja. She assumed the pokemon knows its signature move Water Shuriken. The little watery stars would be a perfect tool for her goals.

Shift obeys. As the small bird descending, its form morphs into a Greninja. The nimble amphibian takes a quick look around. It’s difficult to accurately pick out the sandcastles in the Sandstorm but he does his best. Shift rushes forward towards the closest one a series of sharp, shooting water stars leave his fingers, firing at all the sandcastles he can see.

Shift transforms into GRENINJA and uses WATER SHURIKEN to try knock down some castles!

"You doing alright?" Razz can't help but ask seeing how his greninja as he was having to keep up the WATER PLEDGE in order to keep the SANDSTORM to a minimum. At least it helped Razz along long enough to keep up the shape of the castle. As the sands died down some did Royal finally put down the pillars around them. The ninja releasing a tired breath having to keep it up for so long. "Impressive as always Royal," Razz compliments as the Greninja gives an 'of course' motion. [break][break]

From there the younger ranger would take out his knife as he started on the details of his castle, taking care to make more detailed shapes just like how he made his custom pokeballs. Making sure to keep his hand steady. He pauses only when Royal moves as he was familiar enough with his own attack to know the sound of it coming. Royal creating WATER SHURIKEN of his own to counter the ones that came at their own castle. [break][break]

This kingdom will not fall with him there.

Zac wandered across the beach, checking out the combatants. In addition to his fresh, Kyle-themed shirt, he wore a pair of sandstorm goggles, and was drinking an extra-gritty Charja-Cola.

"Nice castle Kyle!" Zac called, wandering closer to kyle lopez's poisonous construction. It was holding up well against the sandstorm. He tossed the champ an unopened can of Kyle Krush. "Solid foundation, nice use of natural materials. You and Remoraid are a dangerous pair!"

But Zac wasn't just here to inepct and prise, and he had more up his sleeve than Biome Badges and Charja-Cola. To put it as Kyle would, he had 'high pressure and actual force'. "Looks pretty sturdy. Let's put it to the test, ay?"

The sand shuddered, and from within the swirling sandstorm emerged a tree. Despite missing a few of its heads from chryssa glasgow's Jynx's attack, Sneg still had a great view of the fight. He staggered closer, his wide eyes full of sand and his bright green palm-frond hair waggling playfully in the storm.

Sneg saw the castle. It was a clear and blatant attempt to challenge his vertical supremacy. The tree waddled faster, his chunky feet dragging wide prints through the sand.

Now within hammering range, Sneg dug his feet into the ground. He carved out a hole for his trunk, and sat down. He rocked back and forth, using his hole in the sand to keep him from falling over as he built up momentum like a flexible, palm tree drinky bird. Back and forth. Back and forth.

Sneg's head took on a metallic sheen, his glossy green fronds gleaming like oxidized copper. His long neck whipped back and forth, until with a creak and an audible groan, Sneg brought his Iron Head down on Kyle's castle.

Time was running out, he knows that, but art takes time and practice. And while he has 0 practice as he has never built a sand castle before, at least not to his memory as recalling much before 10 was often hard, he at least understood precision. He is nervous when the Water Shuriken come his way, but at least Royal was there to help out, protecting the castle as if it were his own royal court. [break][break]

His mask helps protect him from the slight sandstorm still going on but thankfully with the added water mixed into the sand from the earlier to help harden the sand like the tutorial said to do. Razz can't help but guess nervous when he notices Zac out with Executor, but thankfully he heads over to the champ rather than him. [break][break]

Good because he still wants to work on details.

"woops! best get started, then."

matias adopts a similar strategy to kyle lopez and goes on the offense. he runs with his dragonair, sliding underneath Zac Ramsay's long ass exeggutor right as it brings its IRON HEAD down on kyle lopez's castle. sand disperses, scattering only to slide off dragonair's MARVEL SCALE, glistening like crystals.

sliding to a halt off to the side, matias gets to work, then points to Raziel Beckett's kingdom.

"over there, aqua!"

dragonair coils against the sand, long body shifting as she conjures up a TWISTER that flies across.

adrenaline-powered reflexes in a battlefield allow him to quickly catch the kyle krush with both hands can the moment the gym leader threw it on his direction.

subconsciously, he opens the can. the fizz of the drink is pleasantly audible as he blinks at Zac Ramsay's ominous words. it takes him a while to get what he was trying to accomplish, sipping the drink, before he sees the exeggutor fall down.

"what?!" he exclaims, spitting out the precious kyle krush.

without much thought, he points the remoraid at the exeggutor. "ice beam!" he shouts.

ice shoots from the remoraids head into the exeggutor. it may have made a huge hole on the sandcastle, but the ice aims to lock the exeggutor into place. the same hole made by the pokemon is now filled by the pokemon itself.

the rest of the sandcastle still stands however.

"n-now it even has a centerpiece!" he proudly announces to zac, or at least, he tries to sound proud despite the nervousness in his action.

[attr="class","matias"]quite sadly, matias has never had the opportunity to build a sandcastle, so as his hands continue to work the sand, shifting and shaping, he's forming it based purely on memory.

it's not much of a castle; more like a sandhouse.

the commotion behind him draws his attention. he tilts his head, peering over his shoulder right as an ICE BEAM shoots out at the big exeggutor.

from it, matias sees an opportunity.

"aqua! get kyle, get kyle—"

he points a finger. dragonair nods, then coils again to send a TWISTER barreling kyle lopez's way.

Thanks to mostly keeping to himself and his Wailord's massive girth, and since he was coasting off his supremacy last round, Chu-e had mostly managed to get away from whatever nonsense both challengers and judges alike had been up to. Plus, he was just building a small sandcastle with his hands, it's not like he was trying to really 'wow' anyone here.

Humming, Chu-e started to buildup a little 'guard' tower next to the original 'castle'. A few loose seashells and pebbles were used as decorative windows.

he turns to see MATIAS SILPH, fernando silph's brother, going for him now.

"i'm getting you back!"

if his castle can survive a sandstorm, it can survive a twister too, he supposed. he still opts for offense rather than defense still, as he points his remoraid at the twister.

"octazooka!"

with their combination attack, the twister sends black splotches all over the vicinity, getting every other sandcastle in the area with ink.

it hits the dragonair! it hits the silph! it even hits the Zac Ramsay's special edition kyle lopez alolan shirt that he's wearing! every other sandcastle now has an unsightly black spot on them, all thanks to MATIAS SILPH and not kyle. his remained unblemished though

"blame matias!" kyle shouts when he sees the aftermath. he'd call him by his surname, but with so many silphs in his life, he'd rather use the first name to prevent confusion.

As kyle lopez and MATIAS SILPH were doing... whatever the hell they were doing, Chu-e had just found a nice little rock to use as the 'door' to his castle.

After pushing it in place, he started to dig a little moat around his castle. What kind of castle didn't have a moat?

"i guess we have to get revenge for everyone else!" kyle shouts exaggeratedly.

he throws his remoraid on the water again, where it remains unseen by everyone above the surface of the water. from incognito, it shoots a stream of water at samuel carter's castle to soak and loosen it up from its foundation.

"i can't believe someone is trying to get a witch hunt going in this contest!" he shouts once again, trying to incriminate MATIAS SILPH because it is his fault.

at least the remoraid is unseen so no one can link the assault to him, unless they're super 5head he supposed.
