STAGE FIVE RESULTS
"Close enough, gentlemen." THE HALL OF ANSWERS OPENS. For Locke Jamison and Bill Anderson , the mysterious door's lips stretch wide in a triumphant grin. The draconic heads that hold its chains taut release, and the keyhole at its heart rotates 45 degrees before a loud click is heard and its jaws stretch wide, beckoning. A hidden passage stretches before the pair, radiant pink light shining down from somewhere high above. As each of them passes the threshold, an old flyer flutters down from the ceiling, marked with faded print. GRAND OPENING! DRAGON'S DEN RESORT, the caption says, highlighting several pictures of powerful dragons posing against a backdrop of newly-built swimming pools, water slides, and outdoor training arenas. The STONE TOWER, whole and undamaged, sits front and center in the layout behind a grinning, black-haired teenage boy. "Kick back and relax, or challenge me for my Badge! Either or is fine by me! Just ... Don't break anything!" the quote reads. The poster is dated from February last year. How long had the resort even been open? It doesn't seem like it even made it for a year before it was mysteriously closed again, left for the highest bidder and the wilderness to reclaim. Some questions may never be answered. But others might. If Locke and Bill turn the paper over, they'll find a clue to the killer's identity written on the back. Hideo Kino climbs the side of the tower with purpose, seeking to escape the target on his back. His own distorted image grins back from the stones he puts his faith in, whirling projections from the Target Spotlight blurring the lines between light and shadow. A stone pops out beneath his feet, upsetting his balance for a crucial moment. The boy has time to scream (in the most humorous way) before he topples backwards, chips of rock freeing themselves around him like confetti. --But his Beheeyem catches him just in time, slipping his feet back under him with an expertly-timed Rock Tomb. Hideo is able to take hold of the wall again, the loose stone which nearly killed him disappearing out of sight. The true intent of the stone is made clear as it picks up speed, reaching terminal velocity as it flashes past the spiral staircase, a single chunk of brutally effective weight and deadly force that Alexandra Briarwood just doesn't see coming. Boom. Dull, distant. Dust puffs around the impact, then settles in a soft shroud. ROCKS FALL. ALEXANDRA BRIARWOOD HAS BEEN KILLED. "Contestants, you're down to just ten remaining-- plus the killer, of course." The announcement is calm. Matter-of-fact. Scripted, some would say, as things wind down and all the pieces fall into place. "You have reached the FINAL STAGE. These last tasks will take everything you have-- and if you're smart, you might just live to see the the ending. Who will win MASTERMIND?"

The roof of the STONE TOWER was once the ultimate battlefield, open to sky, sun, and sea. From here is the finest birds-eye view of the abandoned resort—you can even see the distant headland of the Hoenn mainland. Those who chose RUBBLE ROUSER emerge from the stairwell into tickling grass stalks and fresh, loamy earth. One by one, the climbers from VERTICAL VERTIGO join them, weaving their way through a well-kept rooftop garden until everyone stands together once more. Stalks of corn rise on either side of you, walls paving the way into an impromptu corn maze. Those with flying/floating Pokemon will have no difficulty navigating the maze, and in truth, it has little subtlety. It spirals ever-tighter, ever-closer, winding you towards the inevitable end. A raised stone platform chips beneath weathered black claws. A phantasm unfurls, burning blue with spectral fire. Its ragged wings beat, fanning the flames as sparks leap from stalk to dry stalk. The maze becomes a pyre.If you live through this——You can live through anything. > CHOOSE 2 OF THE TASKS BELOW (OR DOUBLE UP ON 1) FRONTAL ASSAULT DAMAGING

- NEW! Soda Pop will allow you to use one additional move + corresponding point reward for one of the tasks.
- NEW! The Killer can still benefit from all additional points gained by the tasks above, but not the moves used.
- NEW! The additional points will be granted at the end of the round. If your response is weak or clearly made-up, points will not be granted. If you are granting points to another player, this takes place immediately (but cannot be spent in the shop).
