Zac noticed then that there was a fugger along for the ride. "Hey Kyle!" Zac said, peering over the side at his magnetized friend. He reached out a hand to pull Kyle up onto Kev.

Suddenly, the air around them seemed to thicken. From their spot above the observatory the ground seemed to pull up towards them as Kev was plucked from the sky by Locke Jamison 's unwarranted aggression.

"Whoa! Hold on mate this may be a rough landing!" Zac shouted, as Kev hurtled towards the soiree.

Hideo had thought things were chaotic enough with the Unown flying around.

Then the Explosion happened, and everything went loose after that. Hideo couldn't keep track of everything in all the chaos, and his two Telepathic Pokemon were making it more difficult with overlapping messages.

And right next to him was a loud *thud*, as if someone just fell next to him. Which turned out to be very true: an Ambipom had fallen from the ceiling, having lost her grip between getting pegged by inaccurate Pokeballs. The Explosion was the nail in the coffin, and there she lied, face first on the ground.

"Pom?" Hideo asked, made aware of the fallen Ambipom by his Beheeyem. "Is that you?"

For that, he got a tail-hand patting him on the head. Of course it was her; what other Ambipom would've snuck in here and stayed close to him.

It dawned on Hideo that he was gonna have to take a similar approach as Cardamom Bliss. "Bathroom's gotta be the safest place," he said, "I'm gonna take cover there. You guys be careful." Hopefully Ruby Walker and Andy Blackadder would stay safe too.

With that, he'd let his Gardevoir guide him to one of the bathrooms, the boy holding his Ribombee close while his Beheeyem had to lift the faceplanted Ambipom along with them - Psychically, of course.

The Ribombee had caught the empty capturing device and was making her way back when he realized just what was going on.

“Whoa,” was all he could remark as the place basically… well, this was no party at this point anymore.

For some, he could understand why they were chasing after the Unown. For others, honestly—he had no idea what the hell was going on anymore, but everyone he could see was pretty riled up.

Shifting his balance so he stood on his left foot more, he grabbed the Pokéball from the Ribombee once more, and threw again.

“Honestly, this is much more fun than the boring dancing!” he exclaimed in the bluenette’s direction.

kyle throws a pokeball that he prepared for the unown at FERNANDO SILPH's shaymin when it appeared, and then gets blinded by the seed flare. it doesn't matter though since he's hanging tight to his manectric, who is also hanging tight at the steelix through magnetism.

before he got completely blinded though, he gets a glimpse of zac outstretching a hand towards him. the sight too holy, but kyle doesn't buy it since he knows zac. he takes his offer and gets up to kev the steelix.

"so, what's plan z?" he repeats to Zac Ramsay, eyes still closed from being blinded.

he knows they're falling, but kyle just doesn't know how fast the velocity of their drop was going. if they die, they die. nothing he can do about it if he can survive multiple de raids but die in a social gathering.

A NIGHT THAT'S OUT OF THIS WORLD

IN THE ROOM, Killian Decker will find it no more inhabited than any other space room in the Observatory. It’s sparsely decorated, as per usual, without a hint of luggage or other overnight essentials.

On the desk, there are several papers. Ads for room service, details about the soiree. Noticeably, there are report brought in by Fernando. They detail incoherent experiments and scientific jargon revolving cognitive abilities. None of it makes sense except for several excerpts that translate the technical pieces into plain English.

Tapu Fini’s influence has been shown to purge and clean the mind. Studies linked to MISTY TERRAIN and its ability to protect Pokemon against STATUS MOVES have been trialed on Fernando. The long term effect so far is immunity from more specific ailments. Drunkenness is one of them.

Why that matters? It’s the hinge of their relationship.

What he can provide to Killian that no one else can.

Steelix hurtled back towards earth. Zac tried to get a good view of the landing zone, to angle Kev away from the soiree, but FERNANDO SILPH's Seed Bomb blinded him from the ground. "Ah! My bloody eyes! What the hell's going on down there!"

"Plan Z! Go! Awaken, Pillar Men!"

From the ground beneath the observatory, a trio of digging heads erupted. They surged and swelled with energy, and the Dugtrio burst from the ground as a trio of muscular, clay-bodied figures. They sprinted towards into the observatory, taking up a dramatic pose in the lobby as they prepared to catch the falling Steelix!
