A DREAM MIST HAS CAUSED A SMALL TOWN NEAR VERDANTURF much havoc. Although it is midday, the whole settlement has been set to sleep. The League has called upon their rangers to help deal with the swarm of Musharna responsible; however, anyone is welcome to try and catch one of these drowsing Pokemon before they flee. Just be aware, a Musharna that has just woken up is quite grumpy.[break][break]

in order to qualify for the capture, you must ROLL using the ROLL COMMAND. after, INCLUDE A REFERENCE TO SLEEP somewhere in your post. you may use an image, gif, use an analogy, figurative language, etc.
the highest roll will earn a shiny musharna; the second highest roll will earn a regular musharna, and the lowest roll will net a regular munna. the gender of the pokemon can be decided by the recipient.
the attempted capture will not consume a pokéball.
the musharna/munna have movesets that will be revealed at the end of the event.
this is a time-limited event and will end september 18th, 12am pst.

Mint wasn’t about to miss this. A bunch of Musharna? Sounds like good money to be made. Surely something that specialized in putting pokemon to sleep would be useful to him, especially if he wanted to continue more stealth and subtle missions. It seemed like something that’d suit him. Plus, sleepy pokemon were always kind of cute. He wasn’t about to start a fight with the pokemon, so as he approached the little town and began to spot the dream mist, the grunt pulled out a borrowed gas mask. [break][break]

While he didn’t particularly care about the sleepy town, he saw this a kind of two for one. Mint, did something that benefit others and also stood to earn a lot of cash money in the process. He yawned softly, before shaking himself away and continued chewing his gum to stay alert.[break][break]

Yeah these things were way cuter than drowzee, as much as he liked rooting for the home team he couldn't deny the visual appeal.
He likely shouldn't have sought to catch one; Pearl () would surely kill it in its sleep. Sibling rivalry, DREAMEATER and all that.

Still, he had the pokéball to spare and they were all really adorable gathering together. Once he had enough footage, he made his move.

If not for Cait, then maybe he could catch a baby young enough to bond with his little game-piece while they were both young.

Okay, so maybe it wasn't a smart idea to try and strong-arm your way in to a job when you weren't prepared for it, but when Parvati heard through the grape vine that there was a swarm reported near Verdanturf, she knew she had to find her way out there.

All she wanted was a little bit of action. Did she know anything about these Musharna? No. Had she done anything beyond basic training? No. Was she out of her depth? Probably. The trip took a few days, most of which Parvati spent too wired to sleep, or passed out at odd hours; she was still adjusting to the more regimented aspects of military living.

The goal was to investigate the musharna, protect them from possible poaching, and see them safely on their way. There was a possibility that this was some kind of seasonal migration, which made no sense to Parvati. She'd tried to read the report she'd been given but on more than one attempt, woke up with ink staining her face or the paper stuck to her face, thanks to a thin layer of drool.

If she was going to be any use out in the field she'd have to do better. It was with this heightened level of gumption that she finally pulled herself together, making her way to one of the small outposts along the route, get signed in, and get the heck to work.

What a weird thing to hear about. Derek arrived, answering a call to deal with a swarm of Musharna that had put a town near Verdanturf to sleep. It was peaceful, at least. But that didn't meant it wasn't a problem. His Grimmsnarl stood next to him as they entered, observing the others as they also worked to the same end.

One of the head rangers was even there. Must've had nothing better going on. Or maybe he wanted to capture one? Regardless, the trainee eventually singled out one of the pokemon and tossed a pokeball at it in hopes of capture.

Having arrived via Tatiana the Gardevoir’s Teleport express and wielding the cane, this was one of those instances that Alexei would eschew the damned wheel chair (look, the other thing he’d ordered hadn’t arrived yet) and so here he was, watching the idling crowd of…

Crap, why was he yawning along with them as well? Geez, did the Musharna back home in Unova have this same effect?

Musharna had been left at home, but his own Munna sits at his shoulder, protecting him from the effects of the dream mist. His Raichu didn’t get so lucky though, as straying just a little too far when first arriving at Verdanturf Town had left poor Notus soundly asleep on his tail while still floating through the air by Mars’ side.

It was that time again. Time for a shitpost! Which also meant it was time for the swarm.

Chu-e had recently acquired a Munna, which was great, but that didn't mean he wasn't interested in getting his hands on another one! Or, if he was lucky, what they evolved into. Would really save him on training costs. So, when he heard about the swarm and the problem, he, like almost always, went out to see if he could get his grubby mitts on one of these beauties.

When he was close enough to the gaggle of sleepy and pissed off pokemon, Chu-e tossed a pokeball into the cloud of mist and crossed his fingers.

musharna were the creatures that could help with nightmares. they could help the insomniacs who couldn't sleep due to bad dreams. this would be a better fix than therapy. (no offense Rory Faust.)

and sam? he hadn't slept in decades it felt like. he could hardly ever sleep. so this was his chance. a whole swarm of them? he was bound to get lucky in capturing one.

Maybe it was the changing weather, but Locke felt even more tired today than usual. It looked like he wasn’t the only feeling a little drowsy either. The whole park was littered with people and Pokémon snoozing away in the midafternoon sun, and the urge to join them was impossible to resist.

Before Locke knew it, they’d settled in under one of the large trees dotting the field, their bag stuffed under their head like a pillow. They were vaguely aware of a few something-or-others snuggling up beside them, all pink and round and squishy like stuffed animals. With a yawn, they pulled one of the creatures close and rolled onto one side, letting sleep take over their mind.

Michiko was not one of the original victims of the strange sleep which swept through the town near Verdanturf. But she was surprised, after parking her car and looking for her reusable grocery bag, when the Rangers arrived in force.

"What is happening?" she called, rolling down her car window as one of the men passed by. The man explained the situation and warned her to get back into the car until the Musharna swam was contained. "Ah, but I am wanting to go to to the bakery..."

She was told (firmly) that was no reason for a civilian to go straight into danger. Michi thought about the bump on her head she would surely wake up with if she fell asleep while walking to the bakery and sighed, giving up. She could go to the one near Petalburg, she supposed, though it wasn't nearly as delicious as the Bliss Family Bakery she'd been frequenting since it opened.

It was such a shame, she thought as she backed out of the parking lot and turned back up the deserted street. Something strange caught her eye as she stopped at a traffic signal, and Michi leaned forward to see a wisp of bright pink smoke trickling out of a storm drain.

Could I catch it?

The Rangers were all still crossing the crosswalk, speaking urgently into handheld radios. Feeling sneaky, Michi rolled down her window and tossed a Pokeball into the drain, wondering what she would catch.

[break][break] he hadn't noticed it in the pokemart, because the job had been self-pick-up — or at least that was what caden was going to call it — but seeing the floating musharna swarm in front of him was obvious. as one floated past, he tossed a pokeball at it, just to see what would happen.

|ltnrC1|This wasn’t the first time she had encountered a swarm like this. Dad had brought her with once, in a very similar situation. In the dead of the night, he had tried to teach her about how to deal with these swarms, like a good ranger would.
Naturally, she had slept through most of it. Of course she’d had. She’d been like what, five? Something in that ball-park. One way or another, she had been unable to keep her eyes open for long. And it had been one of the first times she’d realized that she was not cut out for ranger business.

These days, she was much more of a night owl, so staying awake was easier. It was mostly why she’d come. To just watch the swarm, reminisce a bit about her past, and show her father that she did not need him or his ranger business. She was stronger and better today on her own path. Not that he’d ever know. Heck, even if he was among the rangers overseeing this, he probably would not recognize her anymore anyway. But in her heart, she knew that he knew.
Heh, probably made him even more grumpy. To know that his daughter was better off without having to follow in his footsteps after all.

Bo had caught wind of the swarm near Verdanturf Town and found a way to stop by between work assignments. She hadn't seen Musharna before and their appearance immediately distracted her.

The little things were real different than the kind of pokemon she was used to. She sidled around one of the sleeping creatures to get a better look. She was here to help clear things up -- it seemed like a few others were too. But she couldn't help but peer at the odd pokemon. Man, these things were weird.
