    An eyebrow raised as chryssa glasgow engaged in some sort of banter about his opening introduction, calling his Inteleon a ‘basketball lizard’. Was that what people did in these competitions? Rowan was more confused than anything else, but he wouldn’t let that distract him from putting on a show for the audience, they were more important when it came to appeal than what his opponents thought. Still, he offered a courteous clap when she finished her demonstration.

    “Alright, Natasha. Let’s show them what we meant.” She nodded and stepped into the spotlight once more. A wave of her hand created a series of watery bubbles in the air, allowing them to float listlessly into a field behind her as she watched the crowd with disinterested eyes. “Natasha, take them all out with one shot.” The Inteleon glanced over her shoulder for a moment before looking back towards the audience, holding her hand out behind her and aiming her finger-gun for a moment before letting Snipe Shot loose.

    The projectile bounced and ricocheted off what must have been a dozen surfaces, the watery bullet bursting each bubble into a spray of droplets until none of them were left floating on the stage. Natasha blew imaginary smoke off the end of her finger before retreating towards where Rowan had been waiting, offering a dismissive flick of her tail towards the audience.

While he has always seen the appeal of beauty contests, never before did Mars never see them as something he cared much for participating in. It takes a lot of time and effort to prepare a performance, and his time happens to be particularly valuable to him.

Yet, here he is; a bright grin illuminating his expression just as his Greninja appears next to him, both their gazes fixed on the audience.

”Well, this has been fun, hasn’t it? But, I think we may need just a little bit more excitement... Can you keep your eyes on all the action? Take it away, Phy!”

The Greninja claps his hands, and the moment he does, about a dozen identical copies appear all around him. They all look at the audience, striking their own poses as if their own pokémon. It could be called an impressive display of DOUBLE TEAM, but that is only the beginning…

Within seconds and out of nowhere, they all use their strong and powerful legs to jump up in the air – all with the exception of the original.
[break][break]
While airborne, they turn down to face him, orbs of water being set rapidly darting straight for him.
[break][break]
The Greninja remains right where he is, unfazed, and crossing his arms, dozens of emerald tiles appear before him to meet the orbs of water that seem to almost explode upon contact with the MAT BLOCK.

BOOM!

BLAST!

Water sprays wildly with each and every hit, not a single one making it past the defensive tiles the Greninja has set around him.

Once they’re all gone, the copies disappear as well while in mid-air, all that’s left being the original Greninja with a single tile before him, staring defiantly at the audience.

the manectric's experience over the battlefield that manifested in its scars and general personality quirks were evident in its stoic poise. the same amount of commanding presence precedes over the veteran as it walks up the stage over to the audience.

it's like a carnival-- an ferocious animal overlooking the general populace is enough to bring awe for the show. its presence enough would suffice to get a moment's attention, but kyle makes a step further to keep them entertained.

"you've probably seen this enough, but yeah!"

the manectric changes forms as white light bathes over the stadium. whether kyle forgot to do it during the appeals or not was not of consequence since winning is secondary. what matters more is the way his manectric gets showcased.

the beast stares at the audience. its aura intimidates them into silence before it showcases its agility, dashing from one place to another as it looks down upon the onlookers on different parts of the stage. it roars as it returns to the middle, sounds echoing once more, and then backs away.

The contest starts to get heating up as well as Lyssa not wanting to give up yet, not even Horus has given up with the contest yet/ Deep inside Lyssa slightly aware that the mysteriousness of Horus the Sigilyph will only attract people with smart and not really that much of something that is cool - She needs to reflect on it quickly and adapt. That is how Lyssa usually goes whenever she performs on the road. Truth to be told from the various acts that are shown by other participants, Lyssa found Remiel Calcifet's Garchomp's metal claw to be the coolest so far. There is an oomph to it making Lyssa want to clap while watching it. [break][break]

"Ok Horus, let's not lose here," Lyssa whispers. Siglyph soars to the ceiling letting out his cries. The outline of his body starts to glow with a sparkling light covering his whole body, the singular eyes dart everywhere trying to find their target then fixated upon a dangling ball made out of feathers that act as a dummy that Pokemon can use. Lyssa's eyes darted to the target then to Horus to noticed that they share the same brain cells. "Go! Horus, seize the sky and time to bring down from heaven! use SKY ATTACK!" Lyssa announced while strike a hammering pose to her palm. Horus creates glowing trails with high speed from the sky, a sharp move can be felt from his movement and within a blink, the ball burst like a balloon scattering the feathers all around the places. Horus cries triumphantly on the sky, hoping to beat the other competitor with that move. He feels confident with that move. [break][break]

Okay, okay![break][break]
They'd practiced this before, rehearsed for hours. But there was still no accounting for the real thing; a performance in front of a crowd, lights flashing and people cheering. They had gotten through the introductions just fine, but this is when things would get serious. A combination of stage fright and adrenaline threatened to turn Luka's legs to jelly, but she did her best to maintain composure simply for Lemon's sake.[break][break]

"Time to get amped up!" Luka announced as her Shinx leapt back onstage. The bright star at the tip of his tail glowed and crackled with electricity. "Let's show them what you're made of!"[break][break]

[break][break]The small cub had a mettle easily fit for a creature twice his size. Lemon let out his best battle cry as he ziz-zagged across the stage, leaving a copy of himself with each landing. A half-dozen identical Shinx now hunted their original down, tiny fangs flashing and sparks flying. Lemon dodged them all with a flourish; leaping over copies or diving beneath them, ducking and swerving nimbly.[break][break]
But eventually, it looked as though Lemon was cornered. Oh no! The six copies were closing in. Lemon growled as his fur sparked, and he let loose a blast of electricity that sent each duplicate flying backwards theatrically, their shapes freezing in midair.[break][break]

Their solid shapes began to dissolve, leaving a burning afterimage in their wake like the trails left by a child's sparkler. Lemon, now posed behind all of them, took a running start and leapt through each copy to finish them off. They exploded in small fireworks of fizzling electricity, sparks raining down on Lemon as he stood proudly in the middle of the stage.

"A strong start by our leading competitor," Adrian gasses up the first display by Natasha, giving Rowan a wink before allowing the judges to make their decision. Trying to remain impartial could be tough, so he opted to keep his gob shut, lest he sing their praises a little too loudly in front of everyone.[break][break]

"And look at that—a delightful display of dexterity by Dewott! The judges are loving it—uh oh! It seems they're docking points for another contestant's composure," he remarks of the Inteleon startling at the move. Tough luck, bud. That's just how it was sometimes.[break][break]

Charizard's execution was flawless, and the crowd began to roar for a classic take on a cool 'mon—but it left them wanting more. "A fantastic maneuver. I'm sure the judges will keep an eye on Muspel," Adrian spoke highly of the contestant before they bowed away from the limelight. And what came next had them waiting with bated breath, as every blow struck by Damkina seemed ready to strip flesh from bone. "Seriously, don't try this at home, folks. These are trained professionals." Disclaimers like these always came before someone did something really cool, though.[break][break]

"Phy takes center stage and—Oh wow, what will they...?" At first the judges seem to respond to the initial clones, jotting down their notes before being pleasantly surprised by the sudden emerald defense erupting from the stage. "What a turnaround!" It seems many of the other contestants once again lose their composure, and the judges are quick to dash their scores as a response.[break][break]

"And now the CHAMPION takes to the stage...! Let's see what they've in store for us," Adrian calls out before allowing his voice to subside, and the Manectric charges itself with a familiar MEGA EVOLUTION! Once the change takes over, its lightning bolt figure dashes around the stage with expected efficacy, and a daunting roar challenges the panel to score them anything less than the best.[break][break]

"That's a tough act to follow, but let's see if Lemon & Luka can't bring their A game." Although they struggle to stand out, Shinx makes an impression on the crowd with its zesty zeal, and the judges keep an eye on it as it gets amped up for the next round. From there they have two contestants left to showcase, and they perform remarkably for the B-listers the crowd wrote them off as before. "Well, folks..."[break][break]

"We've seen a dazzling display of dark energy, and a strategically executed strike from the skies," Adrian lists off their maneuvers fancifully, executing every alliteration he can think of on the spot. "From the best to the last, we're still left with a question: Whose was the COOLEST? And who can keep it coming...?" The audience roars a name.[break][break]

"Let's find out! Judges, your reviews, please!" Their scoreboards flip over and blip up to a large array of monitors surrounding the stage. It seems that Inteleon has kept up with the rapidly changing environment, as Manectric and Mandibuzz swiftly take up a perch in the front running of this competition. Many other reversals of fortune appear to have taken place, but it's still quite clear that it's anyone's game at this point. And the crowd isn't satisfied yet! They want more, and they want it NOW! Who will give it to them? "There you have it!"[break][break]

"Let's move on to ROUND 2! Would Kyle & Manectric please take the stage once they are ready," he surrenders the attention to them, wondering what they'll do next to gain the panel's favor—or to steal away the audience.

A hidden fistbump comes from Lyssa. She doesn't mind the score but the fact that she is able to be part of a person that entertains this size of a crowd made her giddy. Horus shares the same sentiment as he hovering all around the place. However, she shouldn't be lost in the euphoria, she needs to step up her game... With that, Lyssa rushes off for a moment not paying attention to the people who come before her. [break][break]

Right after the previous contestant before her exit the stage, the room suddenly dims out where everyone is barely able to see what is happening on stage right now. The voice of Sigilph becomes much more apparent within the darkness. "As the punishment from heaven falls down, it brings darkness upon the earth" Lyssa's voice echoes continuing the narrative that she makes from the previous round. "However, fear not! Hope doesn't go anywhere as long as you believe in yourself and others. Believe that after the darkest night, there will always be the brightest day to come and my Sigilyph will show you that." Lyssa narrates while suddenly a small orb of light starts to gather to Sigilyph, a ball of light starts to shine the figure of the Sigilyph in the middle of the darkness. "Horus, how about we bring hope within this darkness of time, use SOLAR BEAM" [break][break]

A pillar of light roses while Sigilyph is hovering parallel with the ground facing the ceiling. As the pillar rose higher and higher, the room lightning gradually get brighter and brighter returning to the initial state of the room. "... And with that, the hope comes back to earth and I hope everyone enjoys the show" Lyssa ends her performance with Sigilyph flies high. [break][break]

"Show them more of what they haven't seen." Kaida ordered softly, possibly unheard by the crowd, but definitely by her Charizard, who flapped her wings once more, the familiar blue glow rising from her scales once more.

Everybody knew about Charizard's fire and flying abilities, Muspel could likely never create a new idea from that, but this, she could do.

Another draconic move, powered from the previous Dragon Dance, flowed from the Charizard. It solidified above her, a vague dragon head resting upon her back before she lunged forward...at the audience. Screaming at the audience at full speed, she flew right above the ground, snapping upwards at the last second, but the Dragon Rush continued, dissipating as it flew over the audience, it left nothing more than blue wisps and a sort of coolness.

TLDR: Kaida is here! Muspel uses Dragon Rush!

To his utmost surprise, both the judges and the audience seemed to have loved Shiva’s impressive dark pulse maneuver. It was so cool, somehow Maverick went from last place to third. It befuddled him. All they did was an normal attack. Was it really that easy? No. There had to be a catch. There had to be. The next round began before the trainer could came back to earth. And just as quickly as the next round started, it was their time to once again to show off how cool his mandibuzz truly was.

Feeling a little more confidant this time around, a hint of smirk tugged the edges of the burnt scarred man’s lips. The spotlight lite them up, crismon colored orbs gave his avian a firm nod. “Show them steel wing.”

The mandibuzz lifted herself into the air once more. She flown around, preforming aerial acrobats randomly. Suddenly, her feathered brown wings began to glow a soft white. The glow swiftly turned more shimmery with hints of blue. And when ready, she swooped down at the stage acting like she was going to hit an invisible target. Her shifted her weight, letting the STEEL WING shimmer and sparkling in the lights before she would lift back into the air. Of course, the steel wing would vanish and her act was over. It might not be as impressive as the rest, but it sure looked cool enough to Maverick.

Chryssa was already getting dizzy from all the spinning, and they were only two rounds into the contest. Still, between her twirls she'd been trying to appraise the audience's and judge's reactions to the moves, and that informed her decision now.

As much as she wanted to continue the basketball metaphor, when it came to their turn again, the girl pointed instead at the spotlights above. There would be time to taunt basketball lizards later. "Let's have a little mood lighting. Night Slash, Drew!"

The otter's muzzle wrinkled, revealing sharp fangs, and she launched herself up with a powerful slap of her rudder against the stage. It struck with a hollow thud as she sailed into the air, scalchops bleeding black light behind her. She crossed them over her chest in a wrist-powered movement and the darkness burst, eclipsing the stage lights for a moment before light tore through and the black curtain dissolved into tatters. Drew carved her way through it, shells flashing gold, then landed easily on her paws again. Scraps of the Night Slash drifted around her like shredded butterfly wings, sinking to the stage in shadow. "Drew! Drew! Drew! Drew!" Chryssa led a gleeful chant.

the manectric starts its entry with a strut. his paws move in a steady gait, much like how prized pedigree dogs were showcased on their own kinds of contests. the only thing different is that the scars and muscles of the manectric doesn't fit the stereotype.

"you've seen him move, but have you haven't seen anything yet!"

the manectric's strut starts to slowly develop into a jog, before turning to a full on sprint. it starts to display the speed it gained from the previous performance before one can notice electricity forming around it.

it manifests into an electro ball that forms in its mouth. it grows larger as the manectric picks up velocity, up until it has to crane its neck up to get it to a much larger size.

"fetch!"

with kyle's command, the manectric releases the move upwards. now much larger than a beach ball, the sphere of sparks ascend up to the ceiling before falling into the stage.

the manectric leaps, crashing into it. the move disintegrates into sparks as it collides with the pokemon, turning the unwieldy weapon into a fireworks show for the audience.

electro ball - ♥♥♥
Excites the audience even more than usual if it is used first in a turn and matches the contest condition.

    Rowan chewed his bottom lip as he watched himself and Natasha slip out of the lead, crossing one arm over the other. “We’re going for the big guns this round.” He murmured to the Inteleon, a small smirk crawling over her lips with anticipation. Once more the two of them took the spotlight, though Rowan remained a healthy distance away from his Pokémon to give them space to work. “Ready whenever you are, Natasha.”

    She nodded, creating a shimmering barrier of light in the air with the nonchalant wave of a hand before setting herself in place. One hand gripped the wrist of the other, which had already been formed into the signature finger-gun, energy beginning to gather on the tip in the form of a sphere. Lights dimmed around the room as Natasha gathered the ambient energy onto the tip of her finger, attempting not to seem strained despite the awesome power at her fingertips.

    “Now.” The Inteleon aimed and fired at the wall of light, unleashing a mighty Hyper Beam that crashed through and shattered the barrier into glass-like shards, sparkling underneath the spotlight before crashing down harmlessly onto the stage all around her. Natasha offered the audience an ironic curtsy before stepping back into her position, huffing slightly with weariness once she wasn’t in view.

Their performance last round had managed to startle some of the other contestants, and despite the actual scores, Mars seems quite pleased with this. They’re here to make an impression, after all, and while winning may be the best way to achieve that, there will also always be other methods.

He steps forward, he raises a hand to greet the crowd, and it is then when his attention turns to the Greninja that appears by his side. ”All yours.”

Yes, that’s all he says before taking a step back, although not without first winking at the judges and tossing something small and shimmering in their direction – almost unnoticeable under the stage lights.

Without a warning, he rushes towards the table where all the judges are seated, and when I say he rushes, he rushes. Limber and agile, the Ninja Pokémon almost seems as if made for speed; its first steps being already quick enough as it runs with ease. Then, leaning forward, he breaks into a sprint, looking almost as if a dart that has been thrown across the stage – a flash, for some perhaps even too quick to see.

And, when he does stop, there’s the distinct clinking sound of metal, for the two halves of a coin fall to both his left and his right, having been perfectly sliced in half.

The prince and the desert dragon are called upon for their next performance. The former takes the stage with a refined elegance about him. The latter, on the other hand, drops down to all fours and sprints past him with reckless abandon as music fills the air.[break][break]

One does not bother to reiterate the previous warning. The act, in itself, is bound to inspire as much fear as it does awe. The previous contestants to take the stage might even find themselves quite startled.[break][break]

Damkina bounds off the stage with a single leap, taking flight once more with a raspy roar as she turns back around. Drawing his blade with a single, practiced movement, Remiel points it at the incoming Garchomp with a steely look in his eyes. He'd entrusted his life to Damkina on many occasions before. But this was still, perhaps, the most dangerous.[break][break]

"In old Galarian legend," Remiel narrates over the loudspeakers filling the auditorium. "It was said only the noblest and most righteous of knights were immune to dragon flame. Many perished attempting to prove their worth to fair ladies, kings, and queens."[break][break]

Suddenly, an intense flickering blue light fills the contest hall in a blaze as Damkina unleashes her DRAGON BREATH. These roaring blue flames hit the right side of the stage first, washing over it like a wave and igniting previously placed bundles of grass. Remiel stands true, however, even as another blast comes through to sweep across the left side of the stage, too.[break][break]

Before long, the flames seem to envelop him completely.

His troupe of fans collectively gasp, and a few even leap out of their seats to get help. As Damkina encircles above with a roar, however, she clears the front part of the blaze with a single sweep of sandstorm, revealing her master standing calm and unhurt at the center.[break][break]

"In truth, the only one you have anything to prove to is yourself... and your partner."

Their first appeal had gone over well! Nothing extraordinary, but not badly either. But they were just getting warmed up! It was truly Lemon's time to shine this round.[break][break]"Are you ready to play ball?" Luka shouted as she entered the stage, though Lemon had yet to make his appearance. "Don't blink, or you might miss him!"[break][break]

The cub was still pumped up from his last performance. He zipped onto the stage, a blur of bristling blur fur and a gold-tipped tail. Reaching the font in a mere fracture of a second, he postured for the audience for a moment, a little smirk on his face and a challenging glint in his eye.[break][break]
Opening his mouth, the cub summoned a sphere of electricity roughly the size of a volleyball. Lemon made a show of balancing it on his nose for a moment before he tossed it high, high up in the air. Leaping after it, the Shinx did a somersault in midair and kicked the ball hard, making it speed off towards other side of the stage. As soon as he landed, Lemon bounded after it, crossing the stage in the blink of an eye to catch the ball before it fell.[break][break]

He made contact with it, another hard hit that sent it hurtling back the way it came. Again, Lemon made use of his impressive speed to follow, creating a back-and-forth game of volleyball with himself. After a few more hits Lemon hurled the ball into the audience to end his game— a few members gasped and tried to catch it, but it dissolved into harmless sparks above their heads.
