Every day Marshall didn't land a MAGIKARP SPLASH was another day of furious self-embarrassment. But he was not going to give up. No, he was a professional athlete, which meant he possessed a certain stubbornness for winning. As his Mantine swam out to open water again, Marshall set his jaw and furrowed his brow.

He had a good feeling he would get it this time. And if not, well… every failure was a lesson that would help him succeed next time.

Hideo could hear the splash on that one, with the collecting "ooooh"-ing of the audience giving him a good idea how badly that attempt went. Though with the chatter, it seemed like his doppelganger wasn't the only one bailing hard on that trick.

Yet his Ditto was still determined to pull this off, once again going for a Magikarp Splash.

it shouldn't really be a question on how many times kyle is willing to do it, but how many times does he need to try in order to perfect the move.

he gets on the mantine again after the last try. another magikarp splash shouldn't be too hard given that a lot of people have already done it. he's not special, but it shouldn't be a too difficult of a trick if there's more than three people that have already achieved such feat.

with another try, he attempts the trick.

the worst part of that fall into the ocean is that they almost had it! annalise feels a little dizzy from all the flipping around, but she feels determined to do this trick. if they'd been one flip away before, it must be possible. and if it's possible, she's going to get that crown!!![break][break]

That...kind of hurt. Swimming towards the Mantine, the Pokemon also met him halfway. The Primarina Twist wasn't easy...it was always that last part. Getting up back on the Mantine, he started off again. Another low wave was soon. Moving towards it, he again got into the air, front flipping twice, then moving to the wing and back flipping personally. Hopefully he'll stick the landing this time. And he did! What a joyous day...and then he will try a much harder trick next...

Who cared if he fell off the Mantine? He got on it in the first place. That was the important part.

Buoyed by his elation, he rode his Mantine into their next trick: OVER-THE-GYARADOS. Whether he nailed it, or fell, he'd still be happy.

He did miss it, by that much, but he managed to stay on his Mantine.

Third time's the charm, right? It's gotta be, because her last two attempts had ended up with her pride being blown to pathetic little smithereens. Bribing the Mantine clearly hadn't worked, so Skyler would clearly have to attempt another, less nicer, strategy.

"I could really go for some sushi tonight." The words casually slip from her mouth, right before she makes for the waves. A slight twitch under her feet is all the response she gets. Would it make a difference? Unlikely. But as the wave looms larger, Skyler chooses to believe that it does.
