It seemed his fruit based tea didn't go off as well as he expected, but he'd take it cause it wasn't horrible. But the next challenge would prove to be more difficult. Flowers were far from his level of expertise (but who's to say tea making wasn't?) A sigh of frustration as he desperately tried to flip through a cookbook for some ideas. Floral based tea seemed oddly specific -- weren't they already technically floral given they were steeped from tea leaves? Schuyler figured it best not to get too specific. Once he found a note for Rose Tea, he settled on that.

Roses were a bit too predictable for his tastes -- Schuyler preferred HYACINTHS due to the strange way they bloomed.

After he steeped the black tea and rose buds, Schuyler poured the honey flavored boba, ice, and rose syrup into a glass. After he poured milk over the ingredients, he topped it with the brewed tea and allowed his Ditto to finish the glass with some dried rose petals for presentation's sake. He didn't have much confidence in this one and it showed as he approached the judge's table with a nervous smile. At least the tea had a nice pink color to it.

Unfortunately for Avery something that goes well in tea is not the first herb that comes to mind when she thinks of it.

“Why anyone would want to eat flowers is beyond me,” she says to Yoinky Sploinky as she sets about trying to come up with something that will be more than just barely edible but maybe actually kind of good, okay.

Luckily, the obsession with her favorite color gets to come into play here. Once upon a time she’d been looking for a natural way to dye her hair. It had been a short-lived phase, but she’d discovered butterfly pea flowers and all the good stuff you could do with them.

“So you can actually use these flowers for, like, natural dyes, and stuff. It’s pretty neat.”
[break][break]
She set her boba up to cook and grabbed a strainer for when she eventually finished brewing her butterfly pea tea. As that sat, she poured coconut milk and sweetened condensed milk into a measuring glass and plopped it in the stand mixer to whip up nice.

With a big spoon, she dropped boba pearls into glasses; on top of that went the sweet coconut mixture.

“You gotta really-- squish it-- to get all the color and flavor out,” she explained as she mashed her steeped butterfly pea flowers down over a strainer, wishing she had parker jones’s muscles for this part.

When that was done, she poured the beautiful, stellar blue mixture over the coconut mix and watched it diffuse through, turning the glasses into a texture that looked almost like a starry night sky.

She sprinkled some butterfly pea petals on top for good measure.

it would be easy to get discouraged as the judges point out their favorite drinks, and momo's creations have yet to be among them. but momo doesn't take it to heart. if anything, seeing her peers succeed encourages her to try harder, and she pumps her fist into the air to ramp herself up. "rose, we got this! third round, let's go!" [break][break]

her polteageist nods happily, and momo can't help but feel confident going into this round. even though she'd already done a somewhat floral-based drink in the freestyle round, the direction of the flavor will be much different. like her namesake, momo is flushed peachy-pink, and chooses the fattest peaches for fresh peach flavor, and then the part of the peach that will matter most during this round. [break][break]

peach blossoms. momo smiles happily, and when the camera swings around to focus on her again, she gives a little wave. "for this round i'm going to focus on peach flowers! there will also be a hint of jasmine in there, too. the entire drink is basically going to be peach white tea, with the usage of peach flowers and jasmine flowers, too!" rose the polteageist laughs in the background, and the shot pans over to the black tea pokemon delicately plucking flower petals and placing them into a mortar and pestle. momo winks, does a twirl, and ultimately puts all her coordinator skill into use as she charms the camera and, hopefully, any viewers that would be watching this, too. "it'll be delicious! that's what i'm hoping, anyway! but with pokemon, there's almost nothing that you can't do!" [break][break]

Luckily, her try at making a fruity bubble tea wasn’t terrible though the three other people that had theirs noticed were tasted by the judges. She’ll have to improve on her bubble tea making as the host announces the main ingredient for this round being based on flowers. Her shiny Polteageist butler knows what she really wanted to make for their next creation and gets the ingredient ready. Helping her butler in mixing the milk tea with the sweet scent of her favorite flower’s petals, it’s no surprise that she has several of those pretty flowers around her home’s garden as well as her dresses having a rose motif.[break][break]

Her adoration for roses came with finishing the Roselia hip milk tea and adding the pomegranate flavored popping boba inside. Like the flower itself, the Galarian princess was the most beautiful rose in all of Galar, but her thorns were sharp. After both of them were done, the bubble tea drink is placed at the side of their table for the judges to test out its taste.[break][break]

Kazimir Wynter opened the pot and yeeted Hati. Tempest happened to calmly turn about that moment, making a pleasantly surprised noise when the brown fuzzball hit his chest. Wrapping his arms around the Eevee quickly to catch him, Tempest gave a thankful smile to the redhead before placing his Eevee back on the table.[break][break]

Hati chirped. As soon as Temp turned to start on the task of cooking, Hati darted off the counter like a bat out of hell.[break][break]

Using Kazimir Wynter's counter as a stepping stone, it hopped to the counter behind the man... to howard slayte's little table.[break][break]

Howard would know this Eevee. It was part of the family of Shadow pokemon who had almost eaten him. While Hati himself was not a Shadow pokemon, his fangs and claws were still deadly...[break][break]

But there was not blood on the thoughts of the Eevee. Only food. Shaking his ass for balance, the Eevee leaped into Howard's supplies and started to scarf them down with vigor.[break][break]

Tempest, meanwhile, had been carefully crafting his boba concoction. Flowers were never his favorite flavor... but after a bit of thinking he came up with the perfect plan.[break][break]

A coconut milk cream was poured over regular boba pearls in a simply syrup, creamy and white. Then a lovely and sweet Butterfly Pea flower tea was strained and poured over top. It made a nice mix of pretty lavender tea with the white cream.[break][break]

Tempest presented his creation to the judges.[break][break]

"cap, what are ye thinking for this one?" she turned to the grass-type and let her choose. capsakid grabbed jasmine flowers and hibiscus.

"together?"

mar raised a doubtful brow. jasmine was refreshing, and she liked their appearance. it was by no means her favorite, which would go to the iris, the flower of kalos. still, mar accepted the jasmine and hibiscus and got to work with her mixing and flavoring. she did her best to balance the flavors of freshness and bitterness from each flower respectively. her tea was going to taste pretty tart.

and then capsakid held popping boba in her hands. "yer kidding, right?" but the capsakid looked upset at her question, so mar relented. winning the contest would be meaningless if it cost her the loyalty of her capsakid, so she let the pokemon fill the cup with the annoying-texture boba. then, mar poured her tea over. as a final touch, she placed an iris, complementing the deep pink color of the drink. "aye, the iris fits because it's me favorite, but the drink won't be as sweet as it is pretty. no, this will be a little more bitter than ye might be used to." still, she hoped for the best.

"Wait you can use flowers for these kind of drinks?" It was really sinking in that he was not an expert at these kind of things. Not even his Alcremie could provide an answer as it rushed towards the pile of flowers they could use and searched through each one for any that caught its eye. As for Kaz he got to work looking through his phone to see what kind of floral based teas he could make. Notably one that was pretty easy to make considering they were on the clock and had zero experience making them.

"Uh...this one! Buttermilk! Get some roses! And let's put a twist on those ball things." The Alcremie handed her trainer a few roses that Kaz picked out of her hand with a groan as he felt the thorns prick his fingers as he got to work prepping them. Looking up he smiled at the cameras as his knife chopped away, "Everyone knows a rose has its thorns and that's what we're going for right now! Roses might be the most common pick but we love them all the same right? They come in all kinds of colors, mean something special for people, all that jazz!"

Buttermilk got to work pouring some lime flavored pearls into the cup and mixing in some sweet syrup and milk tea as Kaz brought his own ingredient and mixed it in giving it a bit of a red coloring as the two of them carefully mixed everything together before presenting it. "here ya go, as a twist on a cherry lime drink we give ya a rose lime drink! With some rose flavored milk tea and a bit of lime pearls to give it a nice sweet yet sour taste. Real prickly flavor am I right folks?"

The brightness on Genevieve's face is beyond exuberant, the sheer joy of showing up the competition. It still doesn't settle the fact that her first round was a blunder, but if she takes anything from today, it was knowing she had learned her mistake.[break][break]

One of these days, she's absolutely going to hang out with the Pink Squad. Momo Sakai , luka chêne , DESIREE BLOOMS , and heck, add Julie Solette ! Genny's getting fired up now! Genny's mom always did tell her she needed more female friends, after all.[break][break]

Flower-based bubble tea, huh? Sunflowers can't really go into bubble tea, not to her knowledge. It'd taste weird. Ah... that's sad. That's her favorite. She racks her brain, and wanted to do something out of the box... so. She does just that. And in front of the whole stage, she orders Sherwood. "Slam." And with it.[break][break]

A coconut is busted in half, one half that Genny keeps as much water as she can to take to a boil in a pot, and Genny begins her work on tapioca balls once more. It's unorthodox, but it's something different, a stretch. As she gets her Jasmine Green tea bags ready, she goes for honey too. This time, however, she leaves the cups well alone.[break][break]

It's super unorthodox, but she's going to serve this in the coconut shell itself. It's definitely going to be a risk.[break][break]

As the tapioca pearls boil, and readied in ice water, and the tea is done, she adds just two tablespoons of honey, letting it sit, and getting that coconut ready. In goes the tapioca pearls, the tea, some milk, and some ice. Two Boba-sized straws...[break][break]

And Sherwood and Genevieve reveal it. "The floral scent of Jasmine Green Bubble Tea, made with coconut water, filled with milk, and laced with sweetness of honey, served in a coconut half."[break][break]

Jack dropped the bundle of herbs into the water when Watts returned. Then he panicked and sent the Boltund back for some lavender, because he really wasn't sure if thyme counted as a flower. Racking his brain for his favorite flower, Jack tried to dredge up as much floral knowledge as he good while he mixed the rose and thyme simple syrup with honey boba pearls, ice, and milk tea. Soon it was his time to present his beverage.[break][break]

"This is rose and thyme with honey boba tea," Jack said as he showed off the drink, "and my favorite flower is hyacinths. My parents used to grow them in the garden when I was a kid." Watts barked unhelpfully at the judges, no doubt adding important context about the hyacinths.[break][break]

He had spent too much time arguing with Shirley last time. Now, he'd make sure to pay extra special attention to the ingredients. Extra special attention. He'd mix this one with scientific precision. This drink would be art. The greatest piece of boba to ever grace this competition. Nothing would ever go wrong agai-

Everything went wrong again. The Eevee attacked.

The first thing that Howard thought: Huh. There's an Eevee eating my ingredients.

The second: Hey. There's an Eevee eating my ingredients!

This one seemed familiar, too. As Howard hit it with a banana, the familiarity only grew. After clonking it with a banana for the tenth time, only then did he realize that it belonged to Tempest Quinn . Oooh, that motherfucker. If they weren't in public right now...

Wait. He'd take a leaf out of Kazimir Wynter 's book. He stuffed the Eevee in a pot and tossed it at Temp.

His drink was ruined, but the deadline was approaching. Howard hastily applied some floral arrangements to his 'partially Eevee-flavored boba tea' (now with flowers). Well, it could be worse. The judges did tell him to be creative, so he was.

Hopefully this drink didn't kill anyone.

they already used their favorite floral recipe, so it's time to get a little mroe creative. for this, reese thought back to the time they had a delicate lavender and mint-flavored ice cream, one that wasn't too sweet or too bitter. they combine their milk with the honey and lavender they've brought, stirring frequently. on the side they boil water for the minty black tea that will be added to it. once the milk is ready, they use a tea strainer to pull out the remaining leaves. they add a couple drops of vanilla extract and a bit of sugar to help sweeten the concoction as well.

once the water for their tea has reached just under a boil, they pour it over their mint tea leaves and let it steep for a few minutes. then they combine it with their lavender milk over top of some tapioca pearls and a few ice cubes, swirling it around to combine everything. when they're done, the boba sits at the bottom of the drink. a little bit of cold foam is added to the top, with a couple sprinkles of crushed mint.

he presents it to the judge nervously, worried the combination won't work all that well with boba...

Mirabella keep herself calm as she dropped from first to third in a blink of an eye. Even worse mint frost did better than her with that stupid dance. That added some salt to the wounds but keep her composure. Mocha growled for being humiliated but the contest over with yet. A few more round before time was up. Mocha seemed indifferent just stares in her coldly.

Great. This meant she was done help her out anyone. The stupid vain shadow rat! Alright, I can do this! This time she didn't try to dragged the crowd attention for they seemed be on other things like how Tempest Quinn was antagonizing the other folks.

She still had some leftover pearls and black tea bags from the last batch so she decided to keep. As an idea came to mine. Her hands were added warm water a few dried rose petals and into a cup and it aside to brew for. She took some to find rose syrup however after she did everything was ready. She added the pearls rose syrup into with a little ice for some much needs zest then poor the tea and milk together. She than sprinkled a few more rose petal on for some garnish. "Rose Petal Milk Bubble tea!"

Again, he got outshined massively. But this concoction got a better reaction overall. So maybe his genius wasn't lost...or he was getting better, since this was his first time mixing these drinks. The next round was floral based and he went pale. Asher didn't do flowers. He didn't even know you could put flowers in a drink. There was one that he saw a long time ago in his grandpa's garden that did spark his memory. It was so cool...and perhaps made him want to become a mostly fire type trainer. He looked around to see how the others were doing their drinks. Mostly taking inspiration from Momo Sakai. So...that was how one applied flowers to the tea?

"So...my favorite flower is the flame lily, but I won't be using them for a drink. I'll be using cherry blossoms." He mirriored what he could from the ad hoc buddy he had made. He used white tea, and black cherries to help out with it. It just seemed so bland and wierd to use flowers as a part of an ingrediant. This was pretty...basic. But he did garnish it with cherry blossom petals. Like what happens in a lack or river near such a tree. He wanted to do so much more to the drink. But who knows, maybe basic was the way to go with this one.

If he'd thought his fruit drink was going to be a hit, he was apparently mistaken. His first had been wayyy better - but they weren't out of the running yet! Though the next round proved to stump him, just a bit. Floral flavors were his weakness. A good jasmine green tea or hibiscus blend were favored flavors of his.[break][break]

But this time, rather than aim for spicy and robust in flavor, maybe subdued and calming would be superior.[break][break]

His favored flowers aren't exactly the most dining friendly sort. Poppies are pretty things, but ingesting them is the opposite of a good time, so obviously he couldn't incorporate them in any way. Instead, he settles for a second-favorite. Well, sort of. Daisies are simple and populous, and chamomile bears a striking resemblance.[break][break]

So it is for both fresh and dried chamomile that he sends Artichoke to the table for - and he returns with an abundance that spills across the counter top in bright white and yellow petals. "Good job, we just gotta steep this..."[break][break]

The second part is a practiced step - whisking a nice, frothy matcha to blend with the chamomile tea. He whisks until the powder is no longer grainy, and the result is fluffy and richly verdant.[break][break]

Regular tapioca boba are softened and added to the cup before the oat milk, and a bit of vanilla syrup. Next comes the matcha and chamomile blend. It seeps into the pale milk in a bright green, swirling diffusion.[break][break]

Just for a bit of flourish, some fresh chamomile blooms are arranged on the tray with his drink as he presents it to the judges.

The third and final round...was floral? Ok, that's fine. He could do that. His Froslass smiles and nods at him. Time to pull out all the stops and pray the judges like this. And even if they didn't, he'd still put on a good show. After all, that's what he's there for.

Mint waits for his cue before he steps forward to take his place and begin prep. "Alright everyone, time to mix drinks and change lives!" he said throwing up a pair of peace signs at the audience and giving a charming wink. He then cracked his knuckles and shook his hands out. "This time, lets try something a little more subtle, but still delicious." he said turning on a stove for his partner as she begins to assist. [break][break]

"I wanna go in with a well steeped Jasmine so the milk and sweetener won't overpower it." he said moving with unmatched precision and grace. No movement is unnecessary and after a moment it becomes clear to the audience, he's began coordinating his moves to the beat of the song playing above. [break][break]

Instead of bright blue introducing him, this time the stage is set with a beautiful array of soft pastels that almost give the appearance of colorful flower petals on the floor. [break][break]

"Jasmine is naturally sweet to me. When I drink it, it's mostly to relax. I here it tends to boost your immune system. Hopefully that carries on when you add milk to it." he said with a small laugh. Affogato croons excitedly. "Now, instead of adding sugar, I wanna go in with some crystal boba to add a little sweetness, mixed with a scoop of grass jelly." He said, as he carefully scooped in the toppings before beginning to add the milk. Affogato carefully removes the tea from the stove, pulsing with ice cold and chilling the tea quickly before pouring it into the cup Mint held out to her. [break][break]

She pours and the dark liquid swirls into the milk becoming a soft light brown. Mint carefully moves the cup encouraging the pretty pattern before holding it straight up as Affogato drops a good amount of ice cubes in and he slaps on the lid to be stuck on. He sets it to shake as Affogato drops pretty flurries to help chill before the machine beeps once more. Mint sets it down with care with a straw to the side for taste testing. "Tada! Jasmine milk tea with crystal boba and grass jelly." [break][break]
