Vegetation from Venasaur's rampage made the terrain hazardous at best. As the pair made to attack the Dynamaxed Pokemon, a vine makes a beeline for Nenet. Barely moving out of the way, she directs Pyroar with, "Flame Thrower!"

Pyroar opens her maw and a gout of flame sears the vine - sending it careening the opposite direction.

"Come one," Nenet says as they make their way closer to help the others attack.

When's the last time they flew together like this? The alien world that was the Power Plant, where they dodged bolts of lighting faster than, well, light? Back on that island, when they'd been shot out of the sky? Arceus, it'd been too long. Both those times had been hectic. Awful. This looked like it would amount to the same, save for one crucial, critical detail.

June wouldn't fall out of the sky this time.

"Left!" Matchstick swerved left, out of the way of a tendril.

"Flare Blitz!" Her wings ignited, a trail of embers left in their wake as they flew up the thick vine towards the source. They left a nasty scorch mark on the tendril, and the massive Venusaur groaned in annoyance.

"Down, down!" They tanked, and her stomach rose into her throat. The contents stayed put, but the air right above their heads didn't as they nearly avoided the lethal retaliation. The vine soared right above, off to the side to Arceus knew where.

"SQUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" June tucked herself close her Pokemon's body, who utilized the kinetic energy to swoop back up like a missle. Not as fast as light, but it would be enough. Had to be enough. Wind and sound followed their path, up and up and--

The narrow, pinpoint force of wind cut through the vine. A clean incision, and it circled up as it fell down.

"Good shit, Matchstick!"

Her heart raced, but in a good way. It felt nice to be in control for once. In power. If only this could continue into her other affairs. But she knew better than to push her luck, for they settled into a nice routine of narrowly avoiding death and doing their best to limit the potential of the masive Venusaur.

when kyle arrives at the scene, ready to take part of the fiasco, the first thing that comes to view are the prints on the ground. there's something charming about them that captivates him, and he doesn't know why.

approaching one of the said prints, he beckons his mightyena to come closer.

"omg big doggy paws. how come ur paws aren't like this? you would look adorable and clumsy and it would look cute."

the mightyena whines and barks in protest, trying to fight against accusations that it wasn't cute. kyle was just kidding with his statement, but he still found it adorable that his pokemon felt jealous of an imaginary dog.

he takes selfies of it and gets distracted from the main cause before telling his pokemon to follow its scent.

together, mightyena and his trainer swerve off from the main objective and instead, go on a wild goose chase to look for the doggy on the scene. it was dangerous for any kinds of dogs to linger around gigantamax venusaurs, he tells himself.

He continues for another minute issuing command to over a dozen Combee, all spreading through the Route to GUST the pollen that's accumulating. Considered experts at gathering, and dispersing the substance, change is noticeable in minutes.

Panicked civilians ran down the route, attempting to escape the battle raging between the Venusaur. Jack pushed forward, moving toward the fighting when he heard someone crying out for help just of the path. Approaching carefully, he found a woman entangled in vines made of toxic chains, desperately trying to free herself as it squeezed tightly around here.[break][break]

"Just like we usually do," Jack said to his Togekiss. She unleashed an air slash, severing the toxic chain just as they had with Aurelie Lefevre months ago.[break][break]

"Keep going," Jack said soothingly to the woman as he pulled her to her feet and pointed her away from the action.

Not one more sound. Quick steps, hurrying in a direction far away from the threat. Her eye is drawn in by a dip in the soil, dog-like paw prints scattered throughout the clearing.[break][break]

Yeah, and they need to get out of there. Rolling his eyes, Reiner ducks under yet another flailing vine and grabs her. No more distractions, before someone gets hurt.

Funny, Eddie had kinda figured that joining Hoenn's military would mean that he'd see a lot more action on the front lines. While that was somewhat true for some of the strange events that he'd recently been dispatched to with his squad, other times it just meant cleaning up after Hoenn's many heroes after they had already done all the heavy lifting. [break][break]

The two Venusaur had long since been defeated, and Eddie and his fellow recruits were mostly there in case any other over-sized toads decided they wanted to pick a fight with the locals. As he stood waiting for his marching orders with nervous trepidation, Eddie noticed something odd in the murky patch of mud he and his cohorts were currently milling about in. [break][break]

A curious set of tracks ran circles through the muck, leaving deep impressions from where paws had become stuck in the mud. It reminded Eddie a little of his Growlithe back in his apartment, but the shape and stride was all wrong. Huh, weird. [break][break]

He had no time to consider the tracks further before Eddie was given his new orders. The image of it still nagged at him, though, even as his troop moved on to locate survivors of Hoenn's latest catastrophe. Something to mull over another time, he supposed.[break][break]

"Everyone remain calm and follow the pathway towards the nearest road!"

Laurence's voice had risen above the crowd's cries, the panic, and concern palpable in the densely pollen-polluted air. The doctor had gone out with a few of the other Rocket groups to try to keep the terror of the people under wraps, helping mothers find their scared lost children, and husbands comfort their discombobulated families.

"Make sure to stay together! Do not run, there are children among you! Any wounded go and seek medical attention immediately!"

He'd yell again, watching as others zoomed past them amid the commotion. While he couldn't stop them, he also couldn't blame them either, he'd be concerned, and running with his child too had he been in the crossfire between the two gargantuan Venusaur that battled each other. It was as if mother nature had warred with itself, the skies and flora in disarray as the two fought for dominance. He had heard of the dynamaxing of Pokemon from Howard, however, seeing them in action was an entirely different story...The one thing he could think of as he went about it was:

"Tsutsu. Cut the vines as they get close."[break][break]

She feels a gentle push on her heart, the empathic connection of her dragon reassuring her. It's not enough to still the palpitations, but it's enough to quell her anxiety. All of hoenn's embroiled in a war against these chains by now. Running all over the region, trying their best to stop them... not recognizing where they come from, those visions in a mochi-induced fever dream.[break][break]

Paw-prints on the ground give her pause, and she tries her best to avoid noticing them at first. But her mind's constantly grasping at something, a puzzle that she doesn't have all the pieces to. Those silhouettes running through the trees... was there something canine among them?[break][break]

WHOOSH.[break][break]

The first cut. A vine falls, all the weight of an enormous tree. The giant venusaur grows it back almost immediately, but the vine stays fallen. Again. And again. Even this far down the mountainside, she feels the rush of wind. Had she been faster, had this poison not slowed her down... she'd be up there now, trying to save all the wilderness they're destroying. [break][break]

Everyone else here who had arrived could more than handle the rampant Venusaurs who had Dynamaxed, already the colossal kaiju were flagging as teams of flying types cut apart thick vines with their air cutters and blowing away poison clouds with great gusts of wind. What Xenon was here to study was the cause of all these rampages across the region, something was behind all these incidents and it wasn't Team Rocket for once as much as she wished she could claim it was her.

No, instead she crouches down in the dirt with a makeshift mask pulled up over her mouth and nose to observe. They were difficult to spot amidst the wreckage and chaos that these Dynamaxed Pokemon had caused, but the perpetrator had failed to erase their tracks completely. Foreign Pokemon tracks, but no human tracks curiously enough. A Legendary's work perhaps? Or is someone trying to pull a fast one on her by using a Pokemon as an intermediary...

Once more, Makoto found themself thankful for Tsukiko - and for just how cooperative the fox could be - when she was otherwise quite mischievous - when a situation turned from push to shove.

The pollen from the clashing Venusaurs rains down around the duo - but with Tsukiko's Springtide Storm, they are able to protect themselves with howling winds that are able to carry the pollen away, on petal-laden gales.

And once the worst of the dusting had passed, Makoto would be quick to order a Blizzard - hoping to take out both Venusaur at once, now that the shields have broken.

From the base of the mountain, Lydia can make out the flowers atop the oversized Venusaur’s back. The residue from their pollen already coated the trees around here. People were clustered in front of the Venusaur. Electricity, ice, and fire raged back and forth as trainers tried to burst through the monster’s shields.

She lifts a hand to wipe away the chilly sweat that runs down her face. A cough wracks her frame as she shifts toward the mountain peak. There are fewer people up at the peak of the mountain. The cable cars sway in the face of the attacks, defenders putting the people inside at risk. They need help. Lydia did not have a flying Pokemon to assist with the climb. But there were always two paths: the easy way and the harder one.

A terrified Sawsbuck stampedes past her. She feels anger flair in her chest. I cannot wait to find who is doing this. The blonde looks forward to making them see justice. “Minerva.” The Lycanroc lifts her head toward its trainer. Both are tired, but sheer willpower keep them going. The wolf knees before Lydia. With a thankful nod, the blonde threw her legs over the wolf’s sides. “Let’s go.” Fingers twine through the lupine’s thick fur as she took off up the mountain.

Joining the rescuers at the top, Lydia takes a moment to develop a plan. With the Venusaur in the way and such a wide cable system this is not a simple mission. Two of the cables had already snapped. And all of the temporary solutions were just that temporary. A hand rolls around the balls at her belt. “Hmm.” Finally, she pulls out a ball that shines with disuse. It is for these people. Do not think about it.

From the depths, a Golurk emerges. It turns its ghastly head toward here, its exposed soul shining through the cracks in its armor. She can hear panicked voices as another cord snaps. A cable car lurches dangerously forward. “I would appreciate your—” Before she finishes the sentence, the ghost-type rockets down the slope. Big, powerful arms wrap around the top of the endangered car.

He is not going to make it. For a moment, he sinks. “Pull harder, you dolt! My grand-mere could lift better than you!” Lydia’s drill sergeant encouragement seems to have the intended effect. Flames grow on its feet as it slowly lowers the vehicle onto a wide rocky outcropping.

He's flying when he sees the EXPLOSIONS rock the air. For a moment, HATRED surges inexplicably as he pivots towards MT. CHIMNEY, wondering if it's something to do with PENELOPE LIVY or MATIAS SILPH. However, upon nearing, he realizes the clouds of smog are not smog but rather pollen.
