WAR LOOMS ON THE HORIZON. The directive to prepare for the next leg of Team Rocket's expansion has come from the crime syndicate's upper brass. To that end, Admin jayden cross and Beast Zev Harcourt have coordinated with S.P.E.C.T.R.A. to organize a Battle Royale-style elimination gauntlet. [break][break]
This event intends to test the mettle and skills of Team Rocket's grunts. Part trial by fire, part training course, The Gauntlet is meant to bring out the best in each competitor. [break][break]
Sixteen grunts enter, but only one grunt wins. [break][break]
THIS EVENT ICLY TAKES PLACE IN MAY, AFTER PRISMATIC PENITENTIARY.
WHAT IS SPECTRA?
The Special Executive for Counterintelligence, Training, and Removal of Avatars (S.P.E.C.T.R.A.) is an elite agency within Team Rocket's ranks with a focused mission: identify and eliminate Avatars within Hoenn who are hostile to the crime syndicate's efforts. S.P.E.C.T.R.A. routinely seeks new members who prove themselves as a cut above the average grunt. [break][break]
All participating grunts will be considered as potential S.P.E.C.T.R.A. recruits, provided they meet other requirements as well.
OOC EXPLANATION
This PVP event will take place across two separate megathreads: one for participants who have signed up and one for spectators. The only characters allowed to be spectators are current Rocket canons, as well as participants who have been eliminated from earlier rounds of The Gauntlet. [break][break]
The Gauntlet megathread will be a raid-style thread taking place over five rounds, including a preparation round. Each round will last 5-7 days and have specific posting requirements. THERE WILL NOT BE MATCH-UPS FOR OPPONENTS; instead, the megathread will be a free-for-all. Participants who are eliminated at the end of each round may no longer post in The Gauntlet megathread, but can post in the spectator megathread instead. [break][break]
The spectator megathread will be more freeform and primarily act as a vehicle for roleplay; however, small rewards may be earned by fulfilling certain prompts.
GUIDELINES GENERAL RULES
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY! [break][break]
[attr="class","ynospace"] - The PVP portion of this event is limited to ROCKET participants who are not canons and/or Avatars.
- The separate, non-PVP megathread will be limited to CURRENT ROCKET CANONS and ELIMINATED PARTICIPANTS only.
- One character per player may participate.
- A character must have at least 50 POSTS to participate.
- A character age limit of 18+ is in place for this event's participation.
- A maximum number of 16 participants will be accepted for this event. If we receive too many sign-ups, PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO ACTIVE POSTERS.
- Each participant may bring FOUR POKÉMON with them into The Gauntlet. Participants must use a different Pokémon on their team each round, switching Pokémon at the start of every new round.
- All mechanics/Pokémon (Sygna Suits, Paradox Pokémon, Ultra Beasts, Mega Stones, Tera Orbs, etc.) are allowed EXCEPT DYNAMAX.
- Salac berries MAY NOT be used.

PVP RULES
The outcome of each round will be decided by rolls, but participants are recommended to keep the following guidelines in mind during the event. [break][break]
[attr="class","ynospace"] - Avoid godmodding, meaning taking control of another player's character or Pokémon during roleplay. This is sometimes called powerplaying.
- Your characters may attempt to physically attack each other; however, remember, Pokémon are always more effective than human-made weapons.
- Mod deliberations are final.
MECHANICS & REWARDS HOW TO PLAY
As stated, there will be five total rounds: Rounds 0-4. [break][break]
Round 0 is a preparation round that will allow participants to affect their rolls for ROUND 1 ONLY. Rounds 1-4 are PVP rounds for determining the winner of The Gauntlet. [break][break]
All participants must roll at the end of their posts for Rounds 1-4. For Rounds 2-4, each participant adds their rolls together for a total sum. Half of the participants in each round, the ones with the lowest totals, lose the round and cannot move on. CHARACTERS WHO MISS THE ROUND ARE AUTOMATICALLY ELIMINATED. [break][break]

Each round will limit the maximum number of posts each participant can write, based on the number of participants in each round. [break][break]
- Round 1: 16 participants (1 post per participant)
- Round 2: 8 participants (2 posts per participant)
- Round 3: 4 participants (4 posts per participant)
- Round 4: 2 participants (5 posts per participant)

The more you post in a round (up to the limit), the higher your chance of moving on to the next round. As a result, this is considered a fast-paced event. PLEASE TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION IF YOU CAN POST AT THIS PACE BEFORE SIGNING UP. [break][break]
The winner will be determined from the Round 4 match-up.
