While supporting and against and his ZEKROM, a wayward DAZZLING GLEAM from 's AUDINO sideswipes one of MOLTRES' wings, sending them careening downward. The great bird attempts to right itself before slamming into the turbulent, rising waters, and barely manages to do so. [break][break]

Fatigue grips both and his patron. All around, their efforts against the titan KYOGRE and the LEAGUE appear to have been in vain — Sootopolis was engulfed by a raging sea, the DYNA TREE had seemingly succumbed to an onslaught of attacks, CALYREX lay shot and bleeding beside .[break][break]

KYOGRE continues its rampage, unsatisfied by 's draconid blood. Blasts of ORIGIN PULSE stream through the air and, this time, MOLTRES is not strong enough to endure. It attempts to PROTECT itself and , but KYOGRE's power is too much to overcome. Together they fall into a waiting sea.[break][break]

The impact practically knocks the wind out of him. After a few panicked seconds of frantic swimming, Barnaby breaches the water's surface, scrambling to recall MOLTRES and release his own LAPRAS as a raft. [break][break]

Around him civilians stranded on jutting buildings call out for help. Guiding his LAPRAS to them, helps them onto his Pokémon while watching the rampaging KYOGRE in the distance.[break][break]

At first, they don’t fully comprehend what has happened to their partner. Submerged beneath the turbulent waves, they had failed to see the fatal blow. Failed to see how his patronage to a beast they detest has pulled him back from the brink. All they comprehend is the blackened ice that crawls up around him as he vaults from the water.[break][break]
Fern thinks that their words will fall on deaf ears. That their cry to turn their attention away from the one he despises will fall short and he will carry on his hateful vendetta. But that is not what happens.[break][break]
To their amazement, wheels on the kyogre and sets Chien Pao on it. A freezing tide that slams into thick, indigo blubber with icy, blade-like fangs. They can only watch from where they bob in the water pathetically. Clutching their kingdra as their own patron soars over the primal leviathan to pull down thunder from the heavens.[break][break]
They feel useless down here. Lir is a stalwart companion, but the kingdra is not the most suitable ride. They would be better served if they were able to take to the sky again, but they are drenched and their hands fumble in the frigid water to get a grasp on their Roaring Moon’s pokeball.[break][break]
And then heeds their command.[break][break]
The man, astride his weathered lapras, offers assistance, and Fern is not one to look a gifthorse in the mouth. Floundering, they manage to hoist themself up onto its shell, and offer a wild grin to the other Rocket as their kingdra is recalled. “Appreciate the lift,” they yell over the wind as the lapras surges forward, slicing through the waves with cutting speed.[break][break]
Fern hails Tapu Koko, and the look in their eyes turns a bit cutting and erratic as they careen off the side of the shell. “Hang tight, it’s about to get a bit electric.” Their hand skims out over the water as electricity courses through them. The familiar buzz that pulses outward to catch against the water’s surface as they summon an overcharged ELECTRIC TERRAIN that crawls outward in the attempt to reach the kyogre.[break][break]
fern can create ELECTRIC TERRAIN or an ordinary electrical field of reasonable size. those caught within the field are more liable to be shocked, revealed, and rendered with the PARALYSIS CONDITION.

Already fed from the raging legend’s storms, Tapu Koko only absorbs more energy from their supplicant’s gift, and unleashes the bright, detonating flare of DISCHARGE at kyogre’s flank.[break][break]
It peels away in a wide U, and Fern’s eyes lift skyward to seek out Jayden again.[break][break]
Only to see the ice give way as he begins to fall, no longer suspended above them. There is a cold plunge in their chest. Colder than the ocean that had threatened to swallow them up. Colder than The Cursed’s touch at the height of the ruination’s influence.[break][break]
“Tapu Koko!” they appeal to their patron desperately, eyes traveling between the two. “Catch him!”[break][break]
The guardian’s eyes study their chosen avatar for an inscrutable moment, as though weighing the importance. And then it dives toward the other falling admin, pincers open.

Tapu Koko uses discharge against Kyogre. Fern does not see Kyogre eat freya since they’re on the other side lol. fern sees and pleads with Tapu Koko to catch him— Tapu Koko obliges and dives for him.

The ship rocks, thrown by an Origin Pulse.

Hana's sea-worthy legs are useless, thrown out from under her. She balks. Her blades, thirsty as they are for blood, recoil from 's throat at her command.

"Excuses! Gray's just an excuse! What's the point, if this is all gray!? What're we fighting for, if everything's just gray, if everything's the same!? If that's your truth, this is all pointless, ain't it!?"

The ship's stern seems to rise over their heads, thrown around like a child's bath toy. Hana stabs her sword into the deck, the shroud wrapped around her wrist keeping her balanced as she screams over the storm.

"Gray... you don't believe in anything, do you!? May as well be dead. You a dead man, deputy? 'Cause I don't spill the blood of dead men!"

She rages. Against the storm, against him.

This isn't the man with cold steel eyes after all. No . Not even a poor excuse.

The ship rises under her, deck near parallel with the water. She slides, and her arm catches on the shroud. She yanks her injured shoulder, and lets out a noiseless scream of pain as the water rises up to meet her--

against what's - seemingly - the end of times, she feels anxiety and dread coil up into a nauseating concoction in her body. it bubbles up like bile threatening to spill out onto sun bleached limestone. she tries to swallow the sensation down, tries to appear calm and brave and not like the afraid little cat she truly is.

it's only when and formulate themselves as back up that she can feel fresh sea air rushing into the lungs. she gasps, gorging herself on the air until it makes her dizzy with the rush of oxygen back into the brain.

and water begins to recede as stares down at them. despite each attack, each desperate attempt to wound and keep him from escaping, his darkrai foils their plans with a ripple of shadows. the mythical embraces its master, then, and they're gone before she can fully blink.

she can't say the immediate rush of relief doesn't feel good, either...

her chest heaves through a pained sigh and she turns, flashing and a grateful smile.

as all things must end, the relief proves short lived.

origin pulse fires off in multiple volleys. two of the watery attacks launch toward their location, the pulses aimed directly at and . her eyes widen at the realization.

she takes a step forward. a feeble hand rises and her mouth opens, dripping good intentions like honey.

her sableye jumps forward in an attempt to disable the kyogre's origin pulse from further use, but it will not prevent the devastating blows from arcing across the ruined city...

He gasped as his head was pulled over the water. At some point the water had receded enough. He didn't notice all the commotion, too busy pulling his own issues out of the water.

He had probably been very heavy to hold— he was holding rather stubbornly unto a huge lump of metal, after all.

As they managed to get on some land, Gwyar pulled out the unconscious, rigid form of his Aegislash alongside himself, gasping for air. Only now was there enough presence of mind for him to return her to her pokeball.

The strong currents and crashing waves made it difficult to even pick the right ball from the lot.

Breathing in deeply, the man ignored the chaos of the battlefield and the comms, the screaming of his superiors both on his ear and near him, and brought his attention back to the dyna tree.

It stood towering still, high over Sootopolis. What had actually fallen, he could see now, was a comparatively minuscule tree of life. Used as a shield, a battery if one would, and then left to die.

His hand slid under his pit for a second pokeball, releasing Gawain the Gallade unto the battlefield.

"The tree." He orders as the keystone within his gauntlet shines brightly, crackling with power as his long time partner mega evolved.

He didn't hear the cacophony, but 's earlier orders still rang loud and clear.

"Bring it down!" He boomed, his Mega-Gallade launching forth, its blades' sharpness palpable as it brought twin Sacred Swords crashing down unto the massive trunk.

amidst the torrential downpour and the swirling haze of pain clouding his vision, he glimpses the liquid gold of PRIMAL KYOGRE's veins as it crashes against the cliff's edge.

[break][break] breaking against the cage that jayden calls home. that they all call home.

[break][break] 'you can't leave,' he thinks. 'and neither can i.'

[break][break] perhaps it’s the bitterness of his failure in killing , or the horror of seeing so easily consumed, or perhaps 's ruthless command that drives him so.

[break][break] blades and ice whirl through the air as CHIEN PAO'S z-move crashes in, freezing the beast for but a moment, before barrage of other attacks follow. in the blur of storm and thunder, it is impossible to see which attacks are rocket and which are league. in this moment, they are one, united under a single cause.

[break][break] the desire to save hoenn from what appears to most to be certain disaster.

'but it isn't,' a voice in his head reminds him, seething like claw-blades against his flesh, like the black ice that burns like metal against his skin. 'ruination must happen. and we must see it to that very end.'

his icy propulsions can only lift him skyward for only so long. so once the attack hits, jayden once again plummets back to earth. chien pao snarls in annoyance, sprinting down it's icy staircase in an attempt to save him — but the fabric of his shirt catches by the skin of it's sword-teeth.

[break][break] the boy is too foolish. too weak. too —

[break][break] ... late?

[break][break] but it's not too late, because jayden blinks blearily as his heart surges in his chest, something sharp and electric surging through him. he sees instead the sight of his partner's TAPU KOKO just above him, saving him from plunging face-first into ice-cold water once more.

[break][break] he blinks away rain-water and sees sitting atop 's steed.

Lightning struck. Xurkitree, empowered, overloaded, launched its Zap Cannon to pierce the heavens. The world disappeared in a flash of blinding light. And then, the rock beneath him gave way. Kyogre’s Origin Pulse was the very tumultuous force of nature itself, and few were spared beneath its oppressive force.

He did not disappear with fanfare, on a high note or a low one. One moment he was there, and the next he was gone. Swept out to sea, taken out of the race by the newly birthed god. Water attempted to pull him beneath the waves, yet he resisted all the same.

When his head emerged above the surface, there was nothing defining nearby. Not structure or feature that stood out. A wall of water, an outcrop of stone. Where was Sootopolis?

Where was he?

His Relicanth reemerged as he tried to make sense of the new world left in the wake of the will of Kyogre.

The stupid god was still there. Granted, June figured it’d take a lot more than literally everyone attacking it to bring the thing to its knees. As she pulled away from the massive Pokémon, which looked relatively unfazed, a frustrated sigh escaped her lips. “How the hell was anyone supposed to stop this thing?”

How did one stop a hurricane? By weathering the storm and letting nature run its course. But what if the hurricane never ceased, powered on by some perpetual motion machine? Pray for a swift and merciful end? Run away?

Actually, that sounded like a pretty alright idea.

“We’ve… ugh,” June said. Violet gave her a curious backwards eye. “We got to just work around the damn thing. I guess.”

Violet thrummed. “What does that mean?”

“Mirai.”

“Still can’t understand you,” she said. Maybe it knew they were never going to accomplish their goals? Would’ve been nice to know earlier. Could have saved her the trip.

But it meant they could attempt to do anything at all. Like, say, save stranded survivors from the waters. Doing the space math, roughly two people could squeeze on to Violet. That was pitiful compared to the massive shadow bird she saw earlier, or that Lapras in the distance. But it was something.

She went for the closest civvies, trapped on a nearby roof… wait, how? “You think the water is going down?”

Violet hummed once again. “Shut up, you.”

Some of the tension eases out of his shoulders as they sag. But he is still poised to go, ready to spring toward whatever action is deemed necessary. “You okay, Robin?” Well, obviously she’s not okay. But as okay as she can be.[break][break]
His decidueye, worn through from combat and more than one dose of healing is quickly recalled. Though Lam does scratch under his beak softly in thanks first. “Careful, don’t try to sit up until you feel able.” Despite the situation, and its urgency, he can’t contain the soft snort of laughter.[break][break]
Virizion looks from Robin to him, something withering in their expression. “This is Virizion, we’ve been working together some.” He points skyward. “And that’s, uh, Tornadus? He’s new.” It felt ridiculous to try and explain. Especially right then. He frowned, though, at her swaying posture, her muddled ability to register what was happening.[break][break]
His hands move forward, careful to help guide her back up. “I’m not surprised. You were pretty close to the impact. We’ll get you help as soon as we can.” They just had to get off the flooding crater first. He nods. “I think it’s done with us for now.” His attention redirects to where the world destroyer fights elsewhere, with other opponents.[break][break]
It’s strange to feel so depended upon. Lam has never really considered himself a leader in these sorts of circumstances. But he can’t let her down, not now. His hands find her shoulders, “We’ll do as Melody says and go for the tree.” He pauses and looks to Virizion again, “But if things get bad I’m having Virizion or Tornadus take you out of here, okay?”[break][break]
For right then, though, he sends Virizion forward. The sword of justice springs into action at the behest of ’s call to action. It bounds ahead and disappears into a swirl of greenery. Only to reappear in the same burst of magical leaves and z-energy as it slashes out toward the Dyna Tree in VIRIDESCENT VENERER.[break][break]
z-move - Viridescent Venerer: virizion disappears behind a swirl of magical leaves, able to blink and reappear to deal additional sneak attack damage with its sword of justice. damage done will also lower enemies' defense.

was gone. was gone. Entei was gone. And now, Trubby had left her, too.

All around her, the war was reaching a fever pitch. Tens of thousands of people and Pokemon flooded the battlefield in a desperate struggle. And yet, Mitsuru had never felt so alone.

"Trubby...!"

As the light of the Origin Pulse faded away, she looked upon what remained of her companion. Torn plastic littered the ground, and chunks of beige gunk stuck to the grass. Specks of pink and blue trash lay amidst them all, like dull gemstones torn from their crown. Mere moments earlier, this collection of trash had been her Pokemon, her friend, the closest thing to a son she had left. And now, now it was... He was...

The rain was lashing down everywhere, but all of a sudden, it seemed to be falling heavier on her face.

Trubby. Dead. Gone.

...

...

But even in a place as cruel as this, perhaps there was still some kindness left to spare.

Just as quickly as the battle begins, does it end. No matter what he, or throw at the Rocket boss, his Darkrai swallows every attack in its all-enveloping darkness. Not even a scratch could be dealt upon the Pitch-Black Pokemon. Move after move is unleashed by the Milotic with no effect at all.[break][break]

As if they were nothing but mere ants, disappears alongside the mythical in a haze of shadowy mist to deal with something much larger than this trio of trainers. Noel grits his teeth in anguish, frustrated at being unable to do anything to stop Walsh. His anger causes him to be completely blindsided and deaf. Unable to hear Giada's warning of the encroaching Origin Pulse headed straight for him and Niola.[break][break]

His senses return slowly.[break][break]

But not fast enough.[break][break]

A beam of bright blue light strikes both Noel and his Milotic from which he's blasted off of. His head barely is able to break through the water's surface, gasping for air and reaching for something to pull him back up.[break][break]

Anything.[break][break]

The roar of thunder and the sounds of the waves crashing into the city mask whatever could be uttered by the ranger. Struggle all he like, he could feel himself being dragged down more and more as time passes.[break][break]

No help was coming. His limbs grew more and more tired with each moment keeping himself afloat.[break][break]

Until at last, one massive tsunami of a wave sweeps him under the sea floor, submerging him into undersea nightmare. A hand reaches out upwards once more, but nothing could be grabbed. Not even hope.[break][break]

As his consciousness slowly fades and his eyes begin to close, his body now at the mercy of the water's currents. One last thought flashes before his mind.[break][break]

Of his friends, both human and Pokemon alike. Of his accomplishments. And of his dreams.[break][break]

The underwater ocean is as silent as ever. Its deep blue hue a marvelous sight to behold. Full of unexplored possibilities, potential and discoveries just waiting to be found. Later, the so-called Councilwoman would stare into a cold, open mirror, watching as intricate hands jab into her skin, stitching the tattered pieces into one. She won't react to the pinch of metal slipping in and out of her flesh, nor the tight pull of the thread. She would just continue to stare, empty-eyed and dead, the events of the day replaying in her head like a slideshow. Later, she would find it impossible to sleep, her body wreathing with unkept anger, her mind spasming with questions. Why didn't lung into action? Why his willpower leak into her? He protected her, but had his inaction also protect them? Later she'll finally smile, as another day brings the world closer to its pre-established end. The same ending that visits her at every nightfall, like a lullaby drawing her to sleep.

But, for now, Penelope was here, in the now, living and breathing through the bitter pangs of battle.

When the Visionary faded, Penelope doesn't follow, too grounded by the reality of the water rising to her hips. Steam still hissed around her, creating an audible outline of her trudge back to . Even MAGMA, as fierce as it is isn't enough to overcome the disadvantages associated with its natural foe.

The division of foe separated them. For Penelope, victory was the sun; look too long, and you'll be blinded by it. And she was.

Chi-yu watched as it's patron stepped through the water, walking around the crumbling ROCK TOMB and craters. Just as she was about to reach him, guided either by sight or sound, the ground rushed up to meet her.

Again, pain filtered through her. Raw and uninhibited by any means of protection. All she could see was an arc of Jade crossing her vision before darkness swam across her eyes. Maybe this was punishment, she had thought, punishment for letting that rocket escape.

Blinking, colors came back in waves. She craned her head back up from the water, gasping for a breath, and allowed everything to solidify back into place.

"Greyson?"

Her voice was dry. All of its energy had left with the second knock down. Struggling, she scrambled back to her feet, one hand on her knee, just as she'd done before.

With enough pushing, she'd eventually find him. He was frozen in place, with arm that looked dead. She wanted to inquire, but knew better than to waste time.

Her thumb pressed into one of the pokeballs strapped around her waist and jellicent appeared, already floating on top the water.

"Got no room for you," she glanced at Zamazenta, "but I'm guessing you'll manage."

With a bit of grunting and pain, she helped Greyson onto of her Jellicent, then herself. It was a tight fit, but the Pokemon was larger than average. Even then, Chi-yu had to trail beside them, leaving behind a path of steam behind its flicking tail.

Together, they went the only place that sense: the center, with the others.

It was hard deciphering what was going on. Attacks were firing everywhere, creating more chaos than harmony. Even still, she wanted to help. If not for the League, then to say one last fuck you to rocket.

IN SOOTOPOLIS, the war wages on. Like Evardian tendrils, spouts spiral into the heavens. Beasts both humble and cosmic, cleave their mark into this fixed point in history. Sootopolis will forever be changed and is destined to forever be the setting of change.[break][break]

Centuries ago, the Draconid people had saved the region here. Two years ago, NECROZMA sundered the city to scrape it clean of Infinity Energy. Now, Kyogre, drawn back to the beginning, back to the CAVE OF ORIGIN, has permanently altered it once again.[break][break]

While 's NECROZMA has the ability to consume the GREAT DYNA TREE for itself, it is able to exercise remarkable restraint... perhaps, its connection with is to be thanked. Or perhaps, it is simply waiting for an opportune time to seize advantages, to seize selfish desires, when there are less threats soaring and stomping about. After all, PRIMAL ENERGY continues to waft from the PRIMAL KYOGRE's lucent body.[break][break]

The sheer amount of INFINITY ENERGY, the lifeforce of all living things, provided by XERNEAS's SACRIFICE is a stunning display of regeneration. Every stunning strike, from Z-MOVES to redirected blows thanks to 's devious interventions, the tree continues to heal itself. Over and over much like the stubborn strongman who had once possessed this power. Now, is reduced to a prisoner, captured by .[break][break]

protects the bloodied CALYREX with her MILOTIC. As she defends him from stray attacks, her shield clangs valiantly against stray fire. However, she is the first to witness the king's second resurrection. The energy flows into him, and the bullet is spat out of a closing wound. The king's eye opens and beholds with gratitude.[break][break]

Should desire, she may receive a SHARD OF CALYREX too (communicate with ), for her fealty.[break][break]

However, everyone's efforts do enact a severe consequence. Around SOOTOPOLIS, the green dynergy barrier shatters. Shards of verdant light, as green as 's circling MEGA RAYQUAZA fade though some may be siphoned by NECROZMA to heal, to study. The city is now vulnerable to DYNAMAXING should a POWER SPOT be near...[break][break]

INSIDE THE KYOGRE, places her hand on the BLUE STALACTITE. Her DRACONID BLOOD, a mana of ancient lineage now graced by RAYQUAZA's bond, touches the azure crystal. Immediately, the COUNCILWOMAN can feel the KYOGRE start to calm. Outside, strong winds descend upon SOOTOPOLIS. MEGA RAYQUAZA's presence, now emboldened by 's consecrated act, summons a DELTA STREAM to purge the rains.[break][break]

Rapidly, the waters descend. The GREAT DYNA TREE is granted reprieve from fulfilling the rest of its duty, and as Sootopolis land reemerges from the zealous sea, the PRIMAL KYOGRE floats serene. It rests in the bay with a groan before opening its maw. From it, and emerge unscathed.[break][break]

The two communicate to their forces that an agreement has been made. A ceasefire of sorts.[break][break]

"team rocket, stand down." The Boss says. "i have made an arrangement with the councilwoman. kyogre shall be contained within the cave of origin... and the league shall watch over it with us. we still hold onto our city and our people. however, we will require councilwoman morningstar's cooperation... do not fret. we will use this partnership to our growing catalog of advantages, petalburg included."[break][break]

Further destruction of the city is prevented, but it is not without its scars. The CAVE OF ORIGIN is exposed, and the sea now flows freely into the city for a part of the wall has been destroyed. Eventually, the KYOGRE, under and RAYQUAZA's influence will dive and reemerge in a lower level of the CAVE OF ORIGIN, where it will begin to slumber. Only by way of 's visits will the PRIMAL KYOGRE remain calm... and prevent further harm.[break][break]

The League will discuss these matters in the subsequent days. Their objective of controlling KYOGRE has been completed—and in some measure, they have retaken SOOTOPOLIS, though imperfectly. Though bound by an obligation of blood, or perhaps a sinister contract of 's imagining. As Rocket's incapacitated prisoner, the KYOGRE must remain for now.[break][break]

Rocket's Submarine moves more frequently now. From Petalburg to Sootopolis to other depths, Team Rocket does not keep its headquarters static lest the League attempt to take advantage of the city's neutralized ground.[break][break]

Eventually, the League's forces recede or begin assisting with the city's recuperation. Sootopolis still stands... for now.[break][break]

The CAVE OF ORIGIN's damage has exposed PLATES: curious artifacts discovered before, purported to have possess the energy of the elements, of the Pokemon types. However, not all of these artifacts have engravings on their backs, but some of the plates found in SOOTOPOLIS carry this line on their backs:

"Where all creation was born, that is the being's place of origin."


The world is pushed closer to The Original One's many eyes. The transformation of 's MEW, humanmade distortions... and the congregation of all your fates brings this universe ever closer to its demise.

Please note that the EXTRA MOVE SLOT reward can only be used on Pokemon that HAS NOT FAINTED in this raid. Although I said KASIB BERRIES could be used for the 8TH MOVE SLOT, I may retract that change when the GARDEN SYSTEM UPDATES.[break][break]

The "PLATE" is an item that can be used in the future for various planned features, including an upgrade to SYGNA SUITS. As mentioned above, these mysterious PLATES have begun to appear around the region more frequently than before.
