    “Bloody hell.” Rowan knelt down next to the unconscious form of Noah Faber, stricken down from the effects of an attack he’d not been able to witness himself. What should he do? seemed intent on exacting some sort of personal vendetta on the Gym Leader, but Rowan couldn’t simply let the man die when he had the opportunity to save them. Team Rocket hadn’t taken his soul, he wasn’t evil like some of them.

    “Can’t believe I'm doing this.” Rowan muttered underneath his breath, motioning for the Slowbro to come over and help with Noah’s injuries. While Argos worked a Heal Pulse into the charred and damaged skin of the Gym Leader, Rowan returned Heket to their Pokeball in favor of bringing out his Poliwrath. “Use Hypnosis on him if he tries anything, Ora.”

    Hands scrambled in an attempt to slip zip-tie handcuffs over Noah’s wrists before he regained consciousness, scooping up their remaining Pokeballs and tossing them out of the way. “Atlas, keep watch.” The Swampert nodded and remained close, obscuring them with their form and ready to use Protect again should someone attack.

    Should Team Rocket find out he’d intentionally healed Noah Faber would they see this as some sort of betrayal? No one knew as far as he could see from a cursory glance about his surroundings, and he preferred to keep the knowledge to himself. “I’ve secured Noah Faber.” Rowan informed the rest of his team over the communicators, waiting for someone to give him orders on what to do next.

Serena's heart was ramming wildly in her chest as she listen to the exchange between the Elite Four member and the Beast. Wasn't Katherine supposed to be on their side? The way things were sounding from her little speech made Serena question otherwise. Her gut feeling was proven right as the woman prepared to attack them.[break][break]

"Is this bitch serious?!" Serena shouted as she watched as two fucking Blacephalon bombs were buffed and thrown their way. For additional measure Serena's cover got yanked from her by some unknown force. Her dark blue orbs widened as she attempted to scramble to her feet. "Holy Shit--" she muttered under her breath. But there was no time. [break][break]

Oscar jumped down and shoved her away from where the bombs were aimed. Not far enough however. Serena grunted as she rolled the impact popped and searing pain raced all over her body. Rocks and other debris were flung her way and as she opened her eyes she caught the last glimpse of Oscar as he was thrown off the platform. "NO!" Serena shouted as she extended an arm towards her ally but there was no way she could catch him. [break][break]

"FUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!" Oscar's screams pierced Serena to her soul and left a chill running down her spine. "Son of a--" she was pissed. As she was she didn't stand much of a chance against an Elite Four member, but she'd be damned if she was going to stand idly by. Serena smacked her comms on as she and the rest of her pokémon attempted to gather themselves. " is a traitor. I repeat Katherine Fairburne has defected." the familiar taste of iron made its presence known in her mouth. Serena spit blood from her mouth to the side before glaring back at her assailant. "She was practically aiming to kill us..." Serena growled.[break][break]

Picking herself up and moving towards Serena and Oscar's pokémon that were left up here, Serenity attempted to get them back up on their feet with LIFE DEW. "Jr. Cas. We're fighting, let's go." she said after a moment as she stood to her feet. Just as she did a familiar shout caught her attention. "FAIRBURNE!!" Oscar growled, "You're alright..." Sera breathed in relief. [break][break]

Oscar hopped down from the waterfall he was on an immediately began to address Katherine once more. "You hypocrite! How dare you claim the moral high ground! We trusted you! I looked up to you! You had friends and allies among us and you're willing to just throw us away? You're delusional if you think you're any better than us just because you let the League put a leash on you! Now move out of the way or I'll make you!"[break][break]

He snapped his fingers as he began to attack. "We're backing him up, let's go!" Serena's Shadow Mime Jr. used MIMIC to copy the Blacephalon bomb that had been launched at them. Maybe she'd appreciate a taste of her own medicine. "Caspurr." Serena didn't even have to give out the rest of the order before he took off to assist Oscar's pokémon with ASSURANCE. [break][break]

Furious though Gavin was with 's interference in Rocket business, murder had not been his intent. His eyes widen as the brilliant flash of thunder nearly blinds him; he averts his eyes, looks back to see the gym leader collapsed and unresponsive.

Shit.

He takes a step toward the fallen figure but stops when beats him to it. Sharp eyes don't miss the healing pulse of energy emitted by his brother's Slowbro but far from being furious, he offers a curt nod of approval.

"Excellent work."

He can't say more without revealing too much.

The Cave of Origin would have to wait. A prisoner could afford a lot in negotiations.

's voice over the Rocket channels sends a chill down his spine. So was right, then? Had she been a traitor then, too, or had her decision to become a turncoat been more recent? It doesn't matter.

Shivering in the cold brought on by Articuno's blizzard winds, Gavin switches out his Cryogonal for a Delphox bearing the same corrupt crystal growths as the coiled Eelektross. A signal from its master instructs it to bathe the area in a FLAMETHROWER from its wand, hoping to chase away the frost that threatens.

Gavin glances up, a wordless exchange seeming to pass between the underboss and the Lugia circling overhead. The ground quakes with its landing, broad wings shimmering as it RECOVERS from its wounds. The aquatic leviathan takes up position near the fallen gym leader and his Rocket captors; should anyone target them, they might risk striking as well.

Gavin clicks his tongue and points toward the Articuno overhead; Eelektross uncurls itself, a ZAP CANNON crackling from its crystal-toothed maw.

Gavin raises his voice over the chaos.

"Is this fight worth his life? Leave the city, and we'll return him alive."

Reflexively Adrian raises the sword as if to parry the attack, but it is HONEDGE which enacts the WIDE GUARD that protects him.[break][break]

As this happens he tries to rely on Abra to get him out of dodge, but the pokemon is apparently tired out after a single feat. With one hand on the hilt holding back the spouting water, the other is free to unleash another pokemon to aid him.[break][break]

Bronzor acts as a bulwark for the oncoming inferno, combining its HEATPROOF ability with an IRON DEFENSE to dramatically increase its thermal resistance. Though its forms begins to glow a cherry red, it maintains composure. In the background a released Magnezone begins locking on to Crimsen, while its ability in MAGNET PULL begins to attract any metallic objects on their person towards its super magnets positioned along the base of its form.[break][break]

As the world around them descends into chaos, Adrian tends to ignore his comms, but the intermittent calls do reach him. Many are under attack - he was not eager to waste anymore time on Senon, much as he would spare him the confrontation.[break][break]

But Senon is a thorn in his side he cannot excise. Not alone.[break][break]

From the deep, something wreathed in shadow invades this abyss, perhaps interested only in retrieving its agent... or perhaps sensing his distress.[break][break]

The Torterra leapt. Mason could feel them leaving the level’s gravitational field. He had no idea why he felt that way but he did. He couldn’t see nor hear anything. And he could only feel the hard shell of his Torterra, but before he knew it, he lost grasp of the Pokemon and down they fall. [break][break]

Then it came. It was pink in colour and it felt extremely ominous. The eye of a beast Mason had never encountered before and it took his breath away even though the eye only lingered for a mere second. Then down he and his other Pokemon plummet. The boy wrapped his arms around himself as the cold began to overtake him.[break][break]

A roar then rang loudly in his ears. He couldn’t help but to relate the roar from the eye he saw earlier and then another sense of coldness overtook him. He opened his eyes in shock as his whole body and clothes became wet. He was in a stream of water, as if he was in a waterfall of some kind. [break][break]

The young man and the three of his Pokemon was at the mercy of the waterfall, screaming at the top of their lungs as they fell.[break][break]

Then everything stopped moving and Mason couldn’t breathe. He was inside a body of water. Survival instincts took over him and he began to swim to the surface, desperate for air. [break][break]

He gasped as he emerged, looking around him in search for his dear Pokemon. The Volcarona flapped its wings on the surface before getting out of the lake, clearly disliking water. Then the Milotic and the Torterra resurfaced as well. [break][break]

The Milotic wasted no time and came for Mason, carrying him back to land. Once they were all on hard rough ground they took a short break, resting and panting. It was the craziest day ever.[break][break]

After a while, Mason was the first to stand up. The sound of Pokemon battles were clear in the distance and he actively tried to avoid them at all costs. He need to get out of there, his and his Pokemon’s safety were the only priority. [break][break]

But then he look around and a thought occurred to him. ”Oh fuck how do we escape,”, so there they went, walking around aimlessly in hopes of finding some way, any way they could get out of there.[break][break]

the stone giant lands in a curtain of haze that surrounds the small island obscuring the vision of the hero and his team as they land. "huh? where'd everyone go-whoa!" as he steps off the golurk the ground under him shook as something heavy landed close by followed by a bright light within the haze that nearly blinded the hero if the mist didn't blot it out somewhat, however the voice accompanying it was familiar as pokkenger felt around the mist for a familiar steel body. "so bright...can't see...oh!"

the thought about being blinded reminded him of the fact that he brought along a pokemon that could help out and reaching down to his belt he let out a lucario that raised its paw to shield his eyes. "skywalker! look for pokemon and bad guys! think i saw...kommo-o! busters help deal with it!"

the lucario closed his eyes and focused his sense to detect the world around him through the aura everyone was giving off. sure enough he could spot a familiar dragon pokemon and started to bark which got the attention of the golurk and falinks of pokkenger's as he grabbed a wandering falinks and threw it at the kommo-o as it let out a yelp of surprise. the golurk turned its glowing eyes in the direction of where the lucario said their target was an bringing up a fist brought down a dynamic punch in the dragon's direction while the falinks that was flying through the air at the dragon coated itself in psychic energy to perform a crashing zen headbutt if it was lucky to make contact.

Into the raging waters of the bay or over the edge of the abyss, for all Angelo cares. [break][break]

“Delta, Latias. Get that cavern open. Now!” [break][break]

There’s no time, no thought spared, for subtlety. Even when Latias sends a surprised jolt across their connection, Angelo does not correct himself. It’s fine, he thinks, we can trust Razz... Please. [break][break]

Something comforting and warm brushes past him then, a barely felt wingtip flashing crimson against his cheek as Latias emerges in a glow of down. Then she’s gone, charging forward with Delta to release an explosive MIST BALL against the barricade. [break][break]

    So far he's had a more hand-off approach as he assessed the situation, saw how it played out. You didn't get prizes for looking before you leaped.

    However was going to pay for it, as soon as Bryan got a chance he drew two arrows from his bow he kept with him and fired it directly at the league brat. [break][break]

    bought him time with the move haze. He spoke out loud to his team "It's go time." As he manages to spot the Golurk ahead of time in the haze and gives his kommo-o a premptive order "Kommo-o, protect!" hoping that he'd also stop any stray attacks from reaching one of his strongest pokemon.     he orders as he recalls his corviknight and klefki to send out his Audino and grimmsnarl as he knew exactly what chu-e's Z move was from the debriefing and wanted a pokemon who could give him options. he unhooked his Klefki from his belt and made a mad dash towards the spire with chu-e .[break][break]

    And then, a Torterra fell from the sky. The impact was not terribly close, but given that Vio was already preparing to move and follow the others, it served as a definite distraction. She did have to check. It could be a Rocket in need of assistance, after all. Or a civilian. She wasn’t 100% a jerk, after all.

    Recalling her Jellicent, she already had her hands on her other balls. That weird guy had just left her standing there, after all – with a heal maybe, but what was that even worth at this point? And besides, well, she was not going to surf in these waters anyway. Especially with everything going haywire around them.
    Hence, she took a quick detour towards where the newcomer was coming to land. did not look like any Rocket she knew, though, so she was disappointed right away. But his question, barely audible from her distance, did give her a good intro. So, why not take him up on it?

    It was a great setup after all. Hence, she released Togekiss and her Aegislash. Usually, she’d only use Togekiss. But with all the things being flung around on the top levels, she wanted an escort. And a huge floating shield was a good one at that. “The only way away from here at this point is up, really,” she replied to the boy. He did not look like he had a flier on him. Otherwise, he’d have used that to save himself from whatever fall he’d been into.
    Either way, she was preparing to hop onto her Togekiss and lift-off, seeking to get some altitude and a proper view of the area. After all, these weird shifts in landmass confounded her. That couldn’t be the work of Rocket or League, since it didn’t decisively shift the battle in either’s favour. So there had to be someone else. And, frankly, she wanted to know. Anything that could stab them in the back would be problematic.

    “I am going up there, half to get clear, half to find out what is going on here. If you want to join, get on. I am going either way.”

    They must truly think I'm stupid. Its a sudden thought, and one that starts to redden Kaida's face, drowning fear in a twisted ocean of anger. Leave the city!? Leave where!? Perhaps 's offer would have been given thought, if not for the fact the Zap Cannon shot right towards their mysterious helper (she had not yet figured it was doing), infuriating her more and giving the woman all the excuse she needed to leap down from her perch on the Metagross along with her Kommo-o (the dragon would carry her down should they be too high for a regular landing).

    She said she'd protect Lars, but that had to apply to all her allies, or her words meant nothing. As stupid as he ( ) had been, she couldn't let him be harmed in front of his Pokemon, it was too cruel. "No." She spat, her Ekans casting an ominous figure on her shoulders, "Give him back, and give yourself over, before I destroy you and your partner." She doesn't know what the shadow monster is, but she understands there's a bond between the man and it, perhaps he'd care enough to worry about it, "Rattle and shake."

    For a moment, it isn't clear whether she is commanding her Ekans or the man, but then an ominous rattle begins, increasing in volume. Rattlesnake echoes towards and , along with the Pokemon clustered around them, a frightening sound beyond all reason, paralyzing even. She didn't worry about Noah, for it was simply a sound, not an attack. As for the two men and their Pokemon? They'd feel the animal terror that filled her when confronted by monsters except, she didn't think this artificial fear would be escapable. She barks, and Vani springs forward among the din, her clanging sounds rendering her effectively Soundproof as she hardens in Iron Defense, moving to batter all in her way as she moves to try and grab Noah in a bold rescue.

    Up in the skies, Svart still chases 's Noctowl, insectoid eyes barely registering the presence of a darkened legendary as she gains speed in a Speed Boost. Ancientpower flies once more, to both bring down and occupy her enemies.

Sharply rejects their "offer" and commands Ekans to use Z-move Rattlesnake (ekans waves its tail to release a sound so frightening it hurts. affected pokemon will be PARALYZED in fear.) at Gavin and Rowan (and Pokemon around them) in an AOE attack. Soundproof Kommo-o uses Iron Defense and charges like a battering ram to try and rescue Noah.     Target missed? No matter. Whilst the haze covered the field, Balder opened up his comms. "We got Rocket activity at the Silver Spire. In the mean time, the Celesteela returned near him, following the light the man emitted.[break][break]

    Suddenly, a figure emerged from the haze, lunging at the alolan... with a knife. Slight issue with this idea is that... Steel against Steel, tempered to the level he was... Doesn't give the expected result. The weapon would bounce, as if hitting the strongest of shields. And its owner would be instantly met with a fist coated with the brightest and hottest light he could bring, possibly inflicting a BURN to the man's face. "Pokkenger, focus on assisting the councilman. Be the hero you were meant to be."[break][break]

    "Stella, block the gate for me and disorient them." continued the Alolan as he advanced a few steps. The Celesteela moved to block the door with its gigantic body before unleashing Metal Sound from its maw, to weaken and disorient the enemies. "Other League members, now's a good time for you all to clear the vicinity. I'll be fine here."[break][break]

    The assault from a Grimmsnarl came as soon as he finished his words. In reply, the man only raised the arm with his Shieldon equipped upon. The creature emitted a sinister growl before absorbing the light from Balder's Arm and unleashing a dark, light-absorbing Protect to block the assault. "Fye."[break][break]

    The Togekiss emerged from behind the man and his pokemon, looking for a target. Seeing the Audino prepare a Shadow Ball, the flying fairy decided to unleash pain upon it. At the tip of its wing, an orange-colored sphere manifested itself, before being flicked towards the creature. An old classic: the Aura Sphere from above.

    they sicken of the calm, who knew the storm
    “It’s Captain Dross, actually.”

    Facets of ocean blue gleam within the darkened interior, immediately holding the captain spellbound in their dangerous allure. Her treacherous heartbeat shoves itself against the walls of her ribcage, ravenously hungry to chase after it.

    The figure holding onto the blue fragment is a familiar one, if only from a brief television appearance. Skyler finds herself not caring, the man’s identity unimportant compared to the obsession crashing like waves against a surface of tempestuous silver.

    Scarred fingers twitch of their own volition at her side, greed coating her tongue like venom. fades into the background along with any suspicious sounds coming from outside, inconsequential.

    “You see, Mr Walsh, authority and hierarchies,” she pauses, eyes gleaming like sharpened blades, “we don’t really see eye to eye.” Skyler Dross takes to orders like a match to gunpowder - uncaring for whoever might get caught in the ensuing explosion.

    Somewhere in the tunnel behind them, a lurking Dhelmise melts into the shadows.

    “That said, I’m not against Rocket. Or against the League. Would be bad for business, you understand.” She takes a step forward, then another, brazenly nonchalant in her approach. Tension bleeds off her muscles, but the smile that she offers Walsh is tipped in predatory intent. “Taking that into account, I’m sure an arrangement can be found that would benefit both of us. No strings attached.”

    Rocket’s boss is aware of the noose he’s gently tightening around her neck. It takes the shape of a blue shard deliberately displayed under flickering flames, but also, especially, of a loved one’s visage that peels off like smoke.

    Warm steel presses against the skin of her upper leg in bloodthirsty defiance, but the ship captain holds herself back. For now.

    “Taking the shape of my husband to lure me in was bad form though.”

    Resting on her chest, the thrum of a cracked jewel beckons the ocean-bound captain to take. And take.

    And take.

    The moment he heard the shout that was directed their way, he had to stop for a few moments.

    Tsk, was all he could think before watching Kaida take the lead and launched a risky attempt to rescue the other person who’d almost gotten struck by lightning.

    “Prendere in ostaggio? Quanto in basso si può andare*,” he growled at the words from , not realizing he’d slipped into Alto Marean out of his rage.

    For once the deity flying high above didn’t answer—as it was too preoccupied trying to evade the incoming electric-type attack.

    There was nothing else to do but to go on the defensive as the Articuno attempted to repel it not with a Blizzard, but this time with a Sheer Cold attack, weaving their movements in an attempt to confuse the aim of the incoming attack.

    Down on the ground…

    Doing a quick head count, he then summoned his Gallade—no way was he going to risk Lynette just yet. To Ro, a single knock and a tilt of the head in the general direction where the Kommo-o was headed.

    To Amir: “Add onto that noise with your own.”

    To Gareth: “Get ready. Just—get ready—”

    The Metagross then exerted its Telekinetic influence once more—should by some chance the Kommo-o fail to reach the other in time, the psychic pull would attempt to grab the fallen person () and the Kommo-o, and bring them towards where they stood.

    The Silvally then added onto the loud noise with a Metal Sound of its own, aiming towards where the Ekans had thrown its Z-Move; while the Gallade threw up a defensive Protect screen to get ready.

    Having been called on earlier (ref to first post) Reshiram was quick to arrive on the seen with their jet engine tail. Coming from the opening of Sootopolis, easily sensing where his chosen was the dragon keeps their speed. Clearly seeing their new avatar in danger as a group in black tried to strike with FLAMETHROWERS. It was time to show them what fire fire was like as Reshiram comes in with BLUE FLARE to intercept and attack the very pokemon who attacked them. [break][break]

    There wasn't much surprise for the ranger as his patreon finally came to his aid. Honestly he was grateful it was now rather than earlier. Razz gives a silent thank you through their bond, as hopefully they would be able to help them get to , and after seeing the Entie, . He can't help but wonder what the shadows were or what Rocket would even be doing trying to block them, but didn't seem to think it mattered. [break][break]

    was quick to have his Salamence use HURRICANE, hopefully the residue of the BLUE FLARE would beef up the storm as it would try to grab the Rockets and knock them into the water. So much for not getting in Rocket's way, sorry . [break][break]

    "Latias?" Razz can't help but comment before the Eon Pokemon reveals herself. Guess both of them had been hiding something. If there were still Rocket being a problem the ranger would've hopped off Buzzwole for them to use EARTHQUAKE against the group. Meanwhile Dodger would use AURA SPHERE to help Angelo's pokemon break though both the shadow wall, and the STONE EDGE.[break][break]

    If successful in breaking through, Razz would and his team would follow. If the Entei would try to get in the way, Razz would raise his hands in some defense, "Hey we need to get through alright, both your trainer and the other are in danger and we need to get through," hopefully the odd looking beast would recognize him from when Kyle brought them to explore the cave under the power plant. Realize he wasn't a threat to the champion.
