Eventually, the Unown seemed to form a portal out of the area. But what caught Thomas' attention was a familiar-looking object. Could it be a Mega Stone? In any case, Thomas quietly grabbed the item, and made his way out of the portal. When they came out of the other side, Thomas had to question if they got sent back in time. He would spot the Cradily and Lileep, as well as the Aerodactyl taking to the skies. But as the Minior attempted to fly into the sky, he would notice that they would only come back down to them, looking disappointed. Thomas decided to heed the call for a break, taking a seat from afar, and watching the area quietly. Already on edge on account of the spreading mist, Gavin startles as Tempest Quinn all but leaps in front of him. He'd seen enough Jurassic Park movies and even watched a bit of Journey to the Center of the Earth to know where this was going, and he didn't like it. He sticks with the group, taking every opportunity to glance over his shoulder at their surroundings. "Don't wander off, Sableye."
Except the daft thing went and did just that. Moron. He thought it as affectionately as possible, noticing it was darting after small bits of rubble and stone due to an insatiable appetite. His attention was pulled away again as Hideo Kino spoke up, reminding him that the boy was without his usual Beheeyem companion. ”Um, I think so? There’s some kind of forest down here, and something on the ceiling’s making a lot of light, but it’s too bright for me to see. And there’s fossil Pokémon everywhere. Like, living ones.” It reminded him a lot of his brief time inside the Tree of Life in Sootopolis, and he immediately pulled out his phone to take pictures for priam conrad once he had a solid signal again. [break][break] Everyone's still here, and they seem to have climbed out of a dark area into the light. Her nerves creep up and wither away with every breath she takes, a chill running under her skin whilst she forces her heart to slow. Where are they? Somewhere underground... says Cat, her voice muffled by the ringing in her ears. An artificial sun... just like that which had appeared during Groudon's rampage, only this time, it wasn't as hostile. [break][break] Fossils that have come to life thrive before her very eyes, but the only thought on her mind is to sit and slowly take in the warmth of the environment. Her palms feel shaky as she reaches to rub away the gathering tears. Exploration can come after her chest stops hurting and her fear subsides. [break][break] If it ever really subsides.   Over at the handsome The Salamence let out a little snort, before flexing his wings and returning back to where they belonged—up in the ‘air’ above the rest of the crowd. Thankfully the sandwiches (and the packed lunches) survived the fall. After double and triple-checking himself to make sure he wasn’t bruising up or anything (because he’d be in for a bad time should that be the case) he then reached for one of the packed lunches and cracked it open. Talk about experience. Before they leave, one of the Unown fly dangerously close to where the two are, and quick on the uptake, Alexei whipped out his phone and opened the ominous app, scanning the question-mark shaped Unown before heading on his way and following everyone else who’d seemed to open up another— Hoo boy. Were they still in Hoenn at this rate? He couldn’t tell! The sight of so many Aerodactyl, however, made him smile. Even the Salamence gave a snort. “Yeah, Gabe, I know—reminds you of Terra, right?” he chuckled as one of the Aerodactyl flew overhead. And then he thought to check his phone to see if there was any service, but of course—since they were here, wherever here was, there was no signal. He remembered his friend Victor Wexler’s crazy stunt with the selfie… and then decided to try and take one while he was in the middle of eating one of the packed bento lunches! Because, come on, no trip would be complete without a commemorative selfie or two, right? Luka grants paxton concordas a grateful smile as she takes his arm, but if one peeks behind her saccharine mask, it almost looks like a wince. She takes her friend's arm, both hands wrapped around his bicep like an anchor keeping her tethered amidst a storm, the only thing preventing her from being swept out to sea.[break][break] What saves her is her desperate need to save face and the intrinsic desire to put others before herself. @cat' concern is as touching as it is embarrassing. She's an adult, she needs to be able to control herself. Now is not the time to panic...[break][break] "It's okay! I'm not upset," she says, still upset. "Please don't worry. You're doing the best you can! I-I don't think anyone could have accounted for this." She paints a smile on her face as easily as one might apply lipstick. It's perfect. If she didn't know better, she'd probably think it's real.[break][break] "It's not your fault. I don't even think it's theirs either," she muses aloud, glancing around at the Unown that have swarmed around her. A shame that they've become associated with such bad memories. "E-either way! Please don't worry about me. You're doing a wonderful job."[break][break] She bids the sweet Cat a smile and a wave before the girl attends to their fellow explorers. Luka continues to follow Paxton as they venture deeper, still clinging to his arm like a tether. The wonderous world that sprawls around them is fascinating, but she only pays it half a mind. In trying to push down everything she's feeling, her mind feels blank and heavy, buzzing like television static.[break][break] Numbly, she sits on a moss covered rock and finally releases her poor neighbor's arm. Snacks are doled out and received with a nod and a quiet 'thank you', and she eats the cookies quietly, without tasting.[break][break] Should the Minior approach again, she'll happily wave the cute little thing over to join their party. Never mind if the Salamence was now just—hovering in mid-air, admitting the flying Aerodactyl and Archeops far above where they were—it was so tempting to chase after then, but then again Alexei was eating (and snapping some selfies at the same time) so the draconid decided to wait. As he bit into a rice ball, he cackled—okay, these were the salmon ones. Good enough. More of the Aerodactyl and Archeops streaked across the skies above, and the Salamence just hovered around, going at a leisurely pace while keeping an eye on the crowd of people below them, down on the ground. As Thomas is seated, his boot taps something. The Kalosian scoots closer to it, noticing it shift as he moves his boot against it. Upon picking it up, and inspecting it, he realizes that he had stumbled upon a Dome Fossil. Thomas quietly places the Dome Fossil in his bag, along with the Fossil Top, and the Intriguing Stone he found earlier. Thomas continued to take his break.
