Excavator's Expedition!

Following the last of the stragglers through the crawlspace and making sure to collect the rope that had been used was Björn, the Perrserker helping to usher on those with lazy confidence, sticking its head under the water to check that the very last of the expedition had managed to push through before going into the water himself. Given the nature of the Perrserker's instincts, it seemed to not mind the swim, the seafaring pokémon deftly gliding through the water and using the stone that dipped into the water above to push itself faster through before shaking off the water, Cat's Flareon and any of the last stragglers who'd been still drying off with it unfortunately caught in the splash zone. Those affected receiving what seemed to be best described as an apology from the Perrserker shortly after.[break][break]
The young instructor had been making sure to survey the surroundings, it was a little difficult for her this time around considering the large area she'd had to cover, quite often making brisk jogs to wherever it seemed she might be needed to help supervise or assist, but nonetheless had any particular people been coming to find her, she'd had been rather conspicuous that catching the pinkette's attention would have been rather quick.[break][break]
For now, it seemed that the expedition had been going smoothly, at a far more relaxing pace this time around, as it seemed that a good section of the prospective miners had found themselves encountering wild pokémon in far more relaxing ways this time around![break][break]
Eris Halla, Matilda Greenlaw and Adrian Malcolm had eventually ended up coming together slowly as they worked their way through the stone walls, spotting a crimson glow dripping out from behind some stone. Whoever it was between the three of them, one of them couldn't help themselves and crack open the stone to discover the wonders behind it! Yet what they'd found wasn't quite what the trio had expected![break][break]
A Slugma was revealed behind the stone wall, staring at the three seemingly unerred by the disturbance, a pause of a standstill that seemed to last ages, the warmth of its lava-like body emanating, the disturbance broken only as the Slugma finally yawned, before blinking one eye at a time and finally slowly slinking away deeper into the crevice that seemed to be its home.[break][break]
While the Slugma seemed overall uninterested, it seemed it had left something behind, and didn't quite seem to mind. The three of you end up finding your very own Fire Stones in between you and where you had encountered the Slugma, these particular gemstones especially warm and cozy from being in the fire pokémon's presence!
Similarly, Hideo Kino, angelo vestri and Remi Cassel had found themselves coming together, seemingly attracted to an odd portion of the cavern that had a faint glow of its own without any of the other nearby light sources—or in a particular young boy's case, had just happened to find himself there—what they'd found had been some odd bioluminescent mushrooms sticking out from the ground![break][break]
Regardless of how you all ended up interacting with the mushrooms, whether you drew close to inspect them or even ignored them after appreciating the small wonders a little to continue digging, something had ended up disturbing them! As it turns out, these odd mushrooms had in fact been the tops of a colony of Morelull! Who'd been frightened awake by the three of you and wrung themselves free of the earth they'd slept in, before racing away with their tiny little spindly legs off to a hole in the wall far too small to follow![break][break]
The three of you had ended up finding a similar bounty to the previous trio, unearthed from the loose soil by the disturbed colony, you notice what seem to be Leaf Stones! Which need just a little more digging to unearth them properly, but the spoils are yours!
It's Dominic Grey, paxton concordas, skyler dross and luka chêne who spot an odd glimmer in one corner of the expanse, the glow of daylight shining down! Perhaps a means of escape instead of having to go right back through the abyssal iceberg that they'd had to swim through just earlier. Yet as the four of you made your way to the patch of daylight it had quickly disappeared, and above you, you hadn't quite seen any semblance of the sky above, instead more darkness and stone.[break][break]
Though it seemed something had been in the darkness, a Solrock and Lunatone floating down with a Minior following closely behind, the Minior seemed somewhat nervous, hiding behind the two cosmic pokémon. While the Solrock and Lunatone weren't the... strangest appearances within a cavern, those more experienced with pokémon might realise that the Minior had been far outside of its natural environment. Perhaps it was lost and the Solrock and Lunatone had been chaperoning it while looking for an exit?[break][break]
Whatever it may have been, the three pokémon didn't seem to retreat, in fact, the Solrock and Lunatone had gotten closer, curious of the new humans surrounding them. It seemed they'd been curious, seeming to have similarly to some other pokémon in the cavern, maybe have been experiencing people for the very first time in their lives. It seemed however, that they'd quickly surmised what you'd been down here for, spotting the stones and gems that you'd been collecting! They'd nodded and chimed towards each other, their cries unique and otherworldly as they seemed to glow with psychic power.[break][break]
The four of you hear the stone from the hollow above rend as something seems to be pried from it, a pair of Sun Stones and another pair of Moon Stones, as if the cosmic pokémon were paying you for something, given the nervous Minior following them, perhaps they'd believed you might be able to help them find an exit to the caverns for their friend?

As everybody continues their mining adventure, it's Thomas Benoit and his Scizor that notice an odd... bump in the floor, yet, getting closer to it oddly, the bump in the ground seems to move. It's quick and easy to realise that something is burrowing under the earth, and it's been alerted to Thomas' presence! Scurrying around, digging attempting to circle around the trainer and his Scizor to escape! Yet in all its commotion, it's not until it just barely manages to dodge Cillian Quinn and Tempest Quinn, then duck in between Martín del Mar and Matilda Greenlaw, and collide with MATIAS SILPH' Tyrantrum's foot, before quickly recovering and continuing its escape! Regardless of whether or not Thomas and his Scizor give chase, it's apparent that whatever had been burrowing underground seemed terrified and was trying desperately to escape![break][break]
The burrowing unidentifed creature had plowed past Locke Jamison and Amber Lenoir, nearly tripping the two in the process! It had picked up its pace and even gotten bigger! Barreling past Georgette Bluebottle and boruta maher before trying to get through between FERNANDO SILPH's feet—potentially knocking him onto his butt in the process if he hadn't caught notice of the commotion—and finally, seeming to disappear the moment it reached kyle lopez.[break][break]
"... is everyone alright?" Cat had asked aloud, double checking to see if any of the expedition members had been harmed in the process, shortly returning her Flareon back to its poké ball. It's a brief pause of silence after the group's affirmations and confirmations that it almost seems like whatever had happened, whatever was amiss... it seemed like it was over. Almost.[break][break]
From a dark corner of the cavern, kyle lopez notices his Smeargle hurried running back to him, tail in hand as it seems to be running for dear life! Trailing behind it, a massive horde of both Drilbur and Excadrill! It seemed this large expanse had been their territory, and this labour of moles had the misconception that you all were trying to take their home from them![break][break]
Yet, as an Excadrill angrily is about to swipe at the Smeargle's back, the Solrock and Lunatone duo—with their Minior hiding behind them—seem to hold it back and throw it back into the mosh pit of moles with a PSYCHIC, the wild pokémon seeming to want to help you!

Finally, they get a moment of respite. The sounds of Pokemon screaming and people crying die down and the danger is behind them. Whatever Pokemon had been chasing them with the intent to feast all fall back and disappear deeper into the cave. It gives the old woman a chance to stretch out her back and relax her stiff muscles.
