WEEDS ARE STARTING TO INVADE Oldale fields! The farmers of this rural town are requesting hungry BUG-TYPE POKEMON to help thin their weeds.

Through the fields infested with weeds, a blue blur began to rampage. The excited Heracross tore up the weeds, aided by his impressive strength. Said weeds were then quickly consumed by the Heracross. While it wasn't his favorite kind of food, it was still a good meal, and a good excuse to go out. Even if it was just going to another farm.

For once, given the care he gave to his home in Verdanturf, he wouldn't be enough to clear the fields of weeds. But that's what the others were for, right? So he'd enjoy the opportunity to flex his muscles, and eat his fill.

Dewpider wasn’t the most gluttonous bug out there, nor was he an expert when it came to gardening and landscaping, but the farmers at Oldale had asked for help, and of course POG Bank was all about helping the citizens of Hoenn (and also enabling them to get stuck with crippling debt, but let’s ignore that part today).

The Water Bubble Pokémon diligently performed the tasks that had been asked of him, picking out weeds from among the crops and making a nice meal out of them. One or two leaves would float in his bubble, colouring the water within a light shade of green. Perhaps he was brewing his own tea.

What better way to get rid of weeds than to use a poison to kill them?

Scolipede seemed practically made for the job, scurrying along on its legs to carry it between masses of weeds growing around the area.

Poison flung out here and there in accurate areas, as not to kill off the places that didn't have the weeds. It worked meticulously and perfectly, as its trainer had trained it.

To toil in a field seemed a job much below René's privileged upbringing. He was a loyal knight, a gallivanting swordsman, a protector of his acclaimed master BARNABY FINCH .

Not... a weedwhacker. And yet here he was, sent away to work tirelessly under a blistering sun. This was a mockery of his esteemed character, to be sure. But, on his master's word, he would get the job done. Luckily... it seemed something a little more interesting had joined him in this laborious task as well.

René had his eyes set on not only shearing the farmer's field, but also on Amaranth, Elisabeth Fiorelli 's SCIZOR. They had met once before under much worse circumstances; perhaps now would be a better time to become acquainted.

At her every clawstroke he was parallel to her, slicing the weeds of an adjacent strip of farmland. The two seemed to dance within the field as they worked, looking equally as graceful as they were efficient.

As their dance came to an end, the SCIZOR offered his female counterpart a large, nectar-filled flower that he'd picked along the fence-line. A delicacy of their kind.

Was he trying to impress her?

Why, of course.

Speed was the only thing on the Venipede’s mind as she Steamrolled her way forward. She had to eat fast, or the other bugs here would take all the good stuff.

She sped across the field like a tire, leaving wild patterns in the grass behind her as she devoured everything in her path. Occasionally she stopped to spit acidic Venoshocks at the other Pokémon, seeing them only as rival gluttons competing for meals.

Well, at least she wasn’t eating her coworkers.

Ribombee is not much of a glutton. Her tiny stature stands as proof; barely as tall as the longest strands of grass she's supposed to mow.[break][break]But the little bug will not be deterred! Plucking each piece one by one will do no good, so she changes tactics. Fluttering too fast for the eye to see, razor-thin wings make decent work of cutting down a radius of grass around her.[break][break]
Thrilled, Ribombee gathers up the cut grass and begins to quickly weave it. Crowns of woven greenery soon adorn the heads of every other helper, for...a morale boost, perhaps?

it's been a millenia since he'd seen the light of day (because he sleeps a lot because he's a growing boy) but he's out here to prove his worth!

larvesta was a growing boy. eating is his main hobby outside of sleeping, just like most bug-types in their larval stage. the best way to do it was just get everything in its mouth inside of it, which was easy when the field was made entirely out of food.

realizing that it's killing two birds with one stone, kyle lets his baby bug boy be employed to both save on money for feed, as well as get paid for it. it's a genius move, which the larvesta would approve of, if he had a clue that he was just being used.

then again, everyone else around him was on the same boat because their trainers all have succumbed to capitalist greed as well.
